Just looking at the new Friends sets and I don't think I have seen this windscreen before. Is it new? Set #41339 for reference.

Is that the Mystery Machine windshield?

    Yes it is.

Ah ok. Makes more sense they would've made the mold for the license than Friends.

^ this is long overdue. Hopefully it means that females wearing skirts are not always taller than figs with regular legs.

    Yes, good news.

It looks like it's also a little narrower at the top, so that the hands don't get pushed out slightly in the lowered position.

LOL! Watched the #60175 video. About what I figured. A little disappointed that he didn’t point out the danger of getting a net wrapped around your propeller. I like the plane, though.

I think it was brought up in the leaks thread but now we have official images of the new part triangle.

And it looks like a new wheel arch as well!

I find that this year's speed champions have really outdone the previous three years. I have gone from really not liking them to thinking that they are absolutely great.

^ I don't think that wheel arch is new. It looks like an existing one with a quarter round tile on the front, but maybe I'm mistaken. That new triangle tile though!! That's so awesome!
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,725
The wheel arch is definitely new. It also appears in several of the other new SC sets in other colors.

Yeah, if that was a quarter-round tile, there'd be no way to attach it!

I'm not hugely "in the know" on what is new and old, but what about this Hagrid lamp piece?

That looks way too much like Playmobil.

I suppose the trans part is a regular cylinder brick which would allow for other colors and applications of the lantern case part.

^I hope that's true so I can switch it out to red for a train conductor's lamp. And let's not forget green for a Green Lanterns lantern.

2*4*3 demi-cone piece near the top of the tower. the top of the tower of cinderella's castle is built the same way, but with a 4x4x2 cone and it looks wrong.

Plus Hagrid's actual body which seems to end in proper 2 stud wide minifigure legs now

    Also...
    - lantern (thanks Switchfoot55)
    - and most interesting...  a new double-cheese slope.

This is one of those pieces which makes you go 'ooooh!', but actually, I can't think of any real uses for it, other than for microscale roofs. Sure, you could probably use it for architectural detailing, but I don't think it's nearly as useful as the cheese slope.

Also, to me a 'double-cheese slope' is the 1x2 cheese slope. This is a micro-roof slope.

    Hm. I am confused.

The NYTF 75954 Hogwarts set is very very different from the one we saw yesterday.

    Includes these pieces...

It took me a minute to realize those were 1x1 arches. And that there is apparently a corner arch. Very interesting.
Also the technic bricks are grey and there are black gears in the NYTF image, and none of the sticker details. I wonder if either one we've seen is the final version.

Hmm it is! I suspect the show version is a prototype though, given that some parts are in odd (clearly not final) colours.

I suspect those new arch pieces won't be in the final set.

Not sure how else they could achieve the arches around three sides as they're shown.

Those arches are very nice. Now I just hope they do a matching one for the existing Gothic arch.

The weird thing is that the official pics DON'T have arches—they just use regular 1x1 bricks. It's hard to tell whether the official pics are inaccurate and these new parts will be in the set, or if these prototypes were an early idea that got ruled out and they're sticking with parts that already exist for that railing.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
    ^ I strongly suspect it's the latter.

I can’t tell what color those dark parts are. Are they all dark green?
  • gmonkey76gmonkey76 Member Posts: 1,833
^Yes lower body of mustang dark green. Hood and roof are black.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
Oh. I assumed from the photos they were all black, and therefore not really new at all.

I don't know whether it's news that the set was designed by Mark Stafford, but amongst other questions he's answered over at the other place, he has made it clear these pieces aren't in the set and shouldn't have been displayed.

  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
^ Yes, he responded to comments on Reddit about that, effectively stating that the model on display at NYTF was one of his development models which should never have left his desk!

He also stated that the NYTF model was built to a price point of $120, whereas the final model was built to a price point of $100, hence it being a bit smaller etc.

That's a shame, but I hope it means they have other similar half arches in development too. Gothic ones, please!

Is this slope piece in the Jurassic Park set new? Looks like one solid piece, no obvious breaks (especially when you see how obvious all the other part breaks are in the images)

Nope, that looks to be 30249 from 1999. Dark Stone Grey is a new recolor for that part, though.

I'm excited for the curly plant stem recolored in black for the new Harry Potter carriage. Will be great for detailing all sorts of structures.

That's pretty much the extent of my interest in the set. Would be great for some sort of Elves villain or something.
