And suddenly, it was the part of the day yesterday! Coincidence? 🤔

I’m assuming the wheels and wheel hubs in #42158 Perseverance Rover are new.

Ooh, didn't even notice that the web was new. When I saw the curved shape I mistakenly assumed it was just the same one from the Spidey and His Amazing Friends sets. Honestly it's a bit surprising it took this long to get a spiderweb piece that's flexible/rubbery!
That curved transparent minifig stand is also VERY interesting, and I'll bet it could have a lot of uses besides that. It has me looking forward to New Elementary reviewing a set with that part so I can get a better sense of its angle and proportions.
One other thing I DID notice today is the new Batman sets appear include a new Batsuit cowl, most notably differentiated from previous Batsuit cowl pieces by the brow molding.

And, I believe, dual-molding for the white eyes.

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned this new element in the Pac-Man arcade...

I knew there was a chain, and I wondered how they attached the characters to the chain, but I wasn’t curious enough to go digging for the answer. Is that part practical in any other applications?

Where did you find this picture?
Also, I wonder how durable that piece is going to be.

Looks like some recolors of parts in the new winter Friends sets.  Snowshoes in bright purple & ice cream piece in bright reddish violet maybe, Hot Cocoa Mug (recolor of HP Butterbeer & Polyjuice Potion), some of the parts used in the trees, the bin the snowshoes are in, the visor and a couple of new dogs I think as well as the harness.  Not sure if the yellow Snowboard is a new color, maybe vibrant yellow?

Probably already been mentioned but one of the City underwater/Arctic sets has a Viking ship with a realistic viking helmet (unprinted). I think it might have first come in the big Sanctum Sanctorum, but good to get! Really annoying and strange Lego didn't include it with the Creator Viking Ship though....
  • 560Heliport560Heliport Member Posts: 4,269
@Brickchap according to the inventories, it is the same helmet as in #76218 Sanctum Santorum. I think it's also the same as from CMF Series 20 Viking.

    So...
Not exactly new parts, but it looks like the long-awaited return of the large palm leaf piece in the Eldorado Fortress remake #10320 as well as the return of red epaulets and shako hats. I'm sure there are a lot of other interesting pieces as well, but those are near and dear to me for sure!

I'm assuming that's not a "new" raised baseplate under that build then...?

Nope!  Check out the pictures; the set actually has modules that you can configure in a few different ways!

It looks like Lego have announced #10315 Tranquil Garden and it looks like the mini pagoda has an interesting 2x2 corner piece with one stud on top and upward curving slope around it.

Without zooming in I just assumed it was the 3x3 corner roof part they have been using in Ninjago for a few years. Nice spot

Late to this but pretty sure those are still the small palm leaves.

I wonder if this new minifigure, the double bass player, from Jazz Club is supposed to represent Charles Mingus? (very famous jazz musician and bassist)
It's a real shame this face print has the hearing aid, I would have liked to have used it for other situations.
  • AstrobricksAstrobricks Member Posts: 5,564
Lots of people have hearing aids, in all kinds of situations.

@Astrobricks Yes, including family of mine, in which case I'd rather represent them as their happy selves doing things they enjoy rather than having a giant hearing aid... Do you want elderly minifigures to have visible dentures too?
You also missed my point, myself and others quite reasonably wish to use this faceprint for minifigures who do not have hearing aids, or as I've said, for people who may happen to have hearing difficulties but don't need a giant hearing aid on the side to emphasise that.

I was sure there was a new hairpiece like the style Ella Fitzgerald has. Does anyone know the Bricklink number of that piece or what sets it is in? I can't remember where I saw it so I can't look it up.

I think what Astrobricks was suggesting is that this head can still be used to represent people as their happy selves, doing things they enjoy. Simply having a "giant hearing aid" doesn't automatically make people sad and unable to do fun things.

As LEGO has clearly increased their representation of all types of people, I think something like a hearing aid has to be represented by a "large" print of it on the minifig head in order to convey that particular device. A micro printed hearing aid to match modern day technology would end up looking more like an error in the printing, in my opinion, rather than a hearing aid.

I can appreciate your desire to use the head in other ways to represent individuals who may not have/need a hearing aid device. Perhaps that would be a proper time to simply remove it with the various print removal methods out there? As it's an isolated print on the side of the head, I would think it would be possible to remove without negatively impacting the rest of the print.

As for the Ella Fitzgerald hair style, I know I've seen it too, but can't seem to find it. I feel like I've seen a Friends Minidoll with that type of hair. I'll keep looking to see if I can nail it down for you.

I think these two are the closest:

@wardm Thanks for this! Maybe I could get my hands on one of the Black Panther sets for the first hair piece (although the second would be better). The piece I was thinking of was in the 2016 Ghostbusters Ecto 1 set and that's it.

How about this one. This is Shuri from Black Panther. Also on one of the female Ghostbusters.

Are the large truss pieces in the #42146 Liebherr crawler crane new? I also see it uses several of the new A-frame trusses that showed up in the Ninjago City Markets. I wonder if they were originally created for the Liebherr, seeing as it was delayed from last year.

Looking for a face print for Bill Haley. Any suggestions? (Must be a regular yellow coloured head). I've got the perfect hair piece.

Purple air tanks appear to be back available, at least for the PaB online in US.
