I just purchased the new Elves Starlight Inn and it looks lovely! I wondered if the 'tea pot' is a new piece or if it has been used in older sets/different colours... If I recall correctly the other type of 'tea pot' is the 'genie lamp' mold?
The new tea pot will be used for miss Potts in Belle's enchanted castle!

@LostInTranslation maybe you could give an answer to the question above...? I'm not that well known in the friends/elves/disney princess themes, where I'd think the tea pot would be in...

@Paperballpark almost every lego brick will fit onto it :) it's a stud, just extended..

I've been noticing a lot of new parts coming out soon, but haven't come across much discussion about them lately, aside from the awesome and useful bar with tube that got its own much-deserved article on the main site (I must obtain at least a few hundred of them, to start).  Below are few more elements I find very interesting.

This 1x1 rounded corner tile, used as a watermelon slice in the #41134 Heartlake Performance School  will certainly be useful.  Has anyone found it without printing in other images?

In #70594 The Lighthouse Siege, it definitely looks like there are 1x1 plates with a horizontal bar and rounded corners used to make the angled corner roof details.  A great part for hinging elements at an angle in a small space.

The same set also has a new chain element with a stud on one side and something else on the other.  Not sure if it is supposed to be a bell and/or if it has a way to connect to other elements.

There are many other new elements, but these are some of the ones I am most interested in.  Has anyone else noticed a new element that they can't wait to get?  Perhaps you've noticed something I haven't yet.  For me, the best part about new sets is discovering the new elements, some of which I have wanted for years beforehand, and thinking about what I can do with them.

@Perijove the exact same melon piece comes with the roller coaster set too!

I would love some plates that were concave "anti" curved plates - ones that you could complete a square by pairing with the curved plates. They would be great for tiling floors.

^That would be really cool. Maybe a corner tile with rounded inside edge to fit around a 2x2 round tile?

#7569 also has a tan bush

I wouldn't be at all surprised if unprinted versions of the watermelon slice show up in either future mixels or the next modular (like the Nexo Knights shield pieces in Brick Bank)

good thing when new parts are that small, you can often expect spares of them in sets :-)

The other new piece in #70594 looks to be an inverted 1x2 curved slope. You can see it in the angled roof details.

And yes, there's definitely some 1x1 plates with horizontal bar and curved corners in that set.

Huh. I thought that piece had a more ordinary chain end hanging from the bottom but in this picture that doesn't seem to be the case. It looks to be some sort of molded tassel instead. Could still be useful, especially if it releases in other colors like gold.

I haven't seen the watermelon piece without printing in any sets, but it does appear in tan with different printing in #41126 (as a lattice-top pie).

@CM4S Ah gotcha, have not bought many constaction sets/payed attention to them much. My bad.

Summer database load is a treasure hunt!  I hadn't seen this one mentioned but it should be interesting for tiny-scale universal angling of pieces.

    3.2 Shaft W/5.9 Ball

Also, I like the new book dual pieces that allow a 1x2 deco tile to be snapped in place inside.

Here's an unexpected recolor.  We got the 1x2 channel bricks 2(?) years ago, and now we can build houses in tan with a full roll up garage door.

Here's a resurrection of an infamous old non-System part.  The old one used pin connectors, which were excessively stressed.  The new one appears to use axle connectors.

Someone spotted this already, but here's a clearer picture of the new 1x1 with handle on end

This should be a popular recolor as well

I guess 2016 is the year of the inverted baby bow, which adds several new colors including light and dark grays for the spaceship builders.

Quite a few other interesting tidbits if you want to page through them! http://brickset.com/parts/new-05-06-16

I need the '98283 - Profile Brick 1X2 Single Gro.' in '37 - Bright Green' and '141 - Earth Green' if LEGO decide not to release 'The Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop' which was heavily rumoured twice for a late 2015 release.

That style of mohawk is used on Axl in the LEGO Nexo Knights TV series so it's good to have it as a physical piece. Hopefully in the future we'll see more Nexo Knights figs released without helmets.

Still no brown though. I wonder if Lego are scared that they would be used as something else.

I've just started building #41067 Belle's Enchanted Castle for a review and it includes the 1x1 tap piece in Pearl gold which I believe is new. It's a useful part for greebling and microscale stuff so gold could come in handy.

Yep, those Blocks minifigures bricks/arms are very interesting, but also quite odd.

I wonder if the scurrier models are done or if they are going to be used for the Kobolds / Leprechauns in the new Elves sets.

The goblins (I think has become the more likely translation) in the Elves preliminary leaks suggests that they will have a new body mould

Looks like one of the Rogue One constraction figures has the 1x6x2 curved windshield used over the wheels in the Mini Cooper in red. Could be all that is needed to make a Red Mini if desired.

These three shield parts on the Nexo Knights battle suits look interesting, I wonder what the connection on the other side is.

I would guess a mixel ball joint attachment. Given the odd angles at the edges it wouldn't function well as a plate/tile. Hopefully there are stud attach points too for more flexible usage.

It's hard to say from the pics seen so far, but if you look at the top of that one it looks like it might have a SNOT piece attached on the rear at the top of the shield, but I can't for the life of me think what purpose that piece has in the build so might be a trick of the angle.

looking at a couple of the others it looks like they might have the technic/constraction hands behind them (the same parts that are holding the weapons) so it might have a bar at the back, or could of be a mix like the other Nexo Knights shields
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
^^^ Unless I'm mistaken, I'd say it is a plate of sorts, as it seems to have a black inverted bracket 1x2 2x2 plate on the back of it.

Cannot forget the new Dirt bike fairing in White in the #60137 set. At least I think that is a new color for that part type.

Looks like there might be some new snake (or half snake) parts in next years Ninjago sets

There also appears to be some new sort of energy weapon part which could be useful for sci fi builds and a return of the galaxy squad egg parts in grey that look interesting too.
