Having just looked through the 883 on the front page, there are loads I just want to own and have in the parts collection with absolutely no purpose in mind.
I find that quite frequently. But parts often suggest a use once in-hand.

I went to the store yesterday for a large PAB cup, half of which is Vibrant Coral 1x2 bricks. I don't know what I need them for; I just know I need them! :)

And they’re calling this (6337530) a “double sphere”. Does lego not know what a sphere is?

Maybe a mistranslation? That in Danish the word for dome and sphere is the same or something?

Wonder if it's a translation quirk... I know some parts or colors have occasionally had less than intuitive names due to coming from Danish originally. Though I'm not sure that'd still happen with a more modern part like this.

There are new 'train weight' elements in set #45400! :o

Element 6094053, Design Number 73843. They're £4.68 each on Bricks N Pieces, but out of stock.

Plus weird Technic sail/panel-type elements in white.

I'm also not au-fait with the most recent Pneumatic elements, but there's a new-looking pump and splitter too.

And in #45401 there's a strange-looking black tile which looks to be about 8x4, but two plates high.

There's also a bunch of re-colours in both sets.

Looking at it, I suspect the pneumatic pump is the only really new element.

Looks like the 8x4 tile I thought there was is actually just an 8x6 ramp.

And I've now been told that the pump came out in 2015! 😂 Oh well, no new parts after all. As you were!

Not found this mentioned before, but looks pretty useful. Part 73825 - 1 x 1 plate with bracket, but the bracket's two studs tall. Funny, I wished for an inverted version of this a couple of days ago 😅

Does this look like a new curved Asian ornamental fence piece in Ninjago City Gardens to connect to part 32932?

I think it's the newish train pantograph shoe on its side.

^possible, but to me it looks like 1x1 round bricks on the corners and the ‘water tap’ pieces in the middle? It looks brick built to me, but I could be wrong, since the picture isn’t that clear.
anyone knows what the piece used for the tree stem is though?
  • Mr_CrossMr_Cross Member Posts: 1,713
It is the shoe, trust me ;-) take a look at other pics in the place we can see things leaked, but aren't supposed to talk about. Tree stem on the roof is a wheel arch.

I don't think anyone's pointed it out here yet, but on the top of the column supporting the street on Ninjago City Gardens (on the right), you can see two new parts clipped to either side of the column. I'm pretty sure those are the individual links for the new escalators seen in the Lego Friends shopping mall, which seem to link together somewhat similarly to the large Technic tread links we've had for a few years.

I know this isn’t new any more (new in 2019), but I just noticed it in the new Friends City Park #41447, and I hadn’t seen it come up in this thread I don’t think.

Yeah, that came out a while ago. There's also been a window glass piece that goes with it: https://brickset.com/parts/design-65066

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but I was just scrolling through the Ninjago Gardens parts list while I wait for mine to arrive and saw Wolverine claws are now molded in green which is fun for foliage.

While I can barely make it out on the original shot, from the Bricklink pic it looks like it could be exactly what I need for my main MOC right now!

It was added to the catalogue in Sept 2019, so I'd suggest it's a prototype part which has escaped the factory and was never put into any sets. Not surprising really, as I can think of a number of Technic connector elements which, if you put this into them, it would be extremely difficult the get it out of them, given you'd only have a single stud to grip.

That makes sense. Also an open stud would probably make the piece too fragile.

Edit - and it's a red piece, another giveaway!

In the VIDIYO pictures, is the 2l "baton" part in the minifigs' hands a new part? It looks like part number 25866 (the lipstick piece) but with two of the squared-off ends and with pinholes at the bottom. If it's a physical part and not just in the app, that could be extremely useful!

If it's hollow, I guess you could also use it to connect pneumatic tubing.

The new tree-trunk / tail piece further up in that picture looks interesting.
[Edit: someone in the normal Brickset comments said that this piece won't exist IRL.  I guess we'll have to see...]

I think there was a similar (possibly the same) piece in a leaked picture of the Raya and the Last Dragon sets (for the dragon's tail). In a different color, of course, but could still be useful. I've certainly had occasions where I've struggled to get the proper "taper" on a tree, and existing tail pieces failing to suffice.

Are these two new large pieces in the rear fender of the new Porsche 911? The ones used in the wheel well and the double curved panel that covers the orange 2x2 macaroni brick.

^ And what about the curved 1x1 black upper front corner of the rear wing?

What's the slope piece at 12 o'clock above the rear tire?

Definitely an interesting picture to study for parts.

I assume that’s just one of these that’s been around for years:

^^^ Wheel well arch I'm fairly sure isn't new. The large element sloping down to the indicator definitely is new.

^^ that's a 1x2 slope with cutout. Easy to see in other photos.

^ it's the newish 1x2 slope with tiled top. Like the 'slipper' 1x2 piece but with a tiled top instead of a studded bottom.

Which part is the wheel arch? I haven’t found it in bricklink.

They talk about the new parts around 3:40

I am conflicted about the new bow element. It seems so specific for it's purpose but it captures the shape very nicely.

^ So I was right about the 5x5 wheel arch, but we were all wrong about 28192 (unless they changed it after this video was made).
I gotta admit, I love watching that new bow element drop into place :)

It looks more to me like a marking pen, perhaps marking the "ideal" shape for the rear window.

LEGO should have done a dual release with a red version.  You know that the Porsche fanatics would have to buy both!

Well if its a test model, I would not be surprised.

I'm loving the new Monkie Kid set #80024 ... can anyone tell if this is the old ladder piece  (in Dark Blue Grey), or something new?

I spotted some interesting parts in the new Monkie Kid sets.

I think this is a new 3 x 3 roof piece that lines up with the new 1 x 3 inverted arch.

The spider legs also look like new parts to me.

Looks to be a few new parts in the Vidiyo stuff. Mainly new minifigures parts and new parts for the pods including a handle that looks like it might be rubbery - similar looking to the Dots wristbands but with some kind of connection either end and none in the middle.

Also noticed that one of the figures has a new Guitar shaped like an anchor - looks to have the same kind of connection points as the other guitar parts but an unprinted one could show up in future pirate themed stuff.

I think I spot two new elements in the Winnie the Pooh set. A green plate and a brown curved brick.

^ the plate is probably the heart shaped one. I think it already comes in that shade of green.

I did wonder, but I couldn't find it on Bricklink.

Edit: just found it. Apparently a heart-shaped plate is a 'round plate' on BL... I think that is a new colour for it though. The current one on there is Bright Green and that looks like normal Green.
