    @Bumblepants
it's a new part that has been introduced as a large tile for the covers of the new Disney Storybooks!

If you don't already, it's always worth checking out newelementary.com for new parts. It's a brilliant source of keeping up to date with any major new part releases (especially from themes that I don't collect, such as princesses above) and I always enjoy seeing what their talented writers do with the parts. You soon learn there no such thing as a useless part!

I just noticed the 1x1 flower is now Coral color in a bunch of summer sets. That is a wonderful color for that part.

someone mentioned the 4x3 or 4x4 armor like element, most notably visible on the Ninjago rhinoceros?

In the press release for Monkie Kid, it says there are twelve new elements created for the theme, listing five which are heads and hair. Looking at the photos, I can only see two others:

New Wheel Hub on the white bike
New 'lightsaber hilt' on Monkie Kid's staff and the flag holders

Anyone got any ideas as to the others?

EDIT: I've just seen on New Elementary what looks like a smaller version of the round curved brick:

EDIT: Someone in the comments there has pointed out that both the green wheel hub and the round curved brick aren't new!

The horns on the bull mech are new.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
I thought they were on a CMF figure?
  • ClassicsmileyClassicsmiley Member Posts: 78
The small horns have been around for a long time.  He's talking about this:

Elements might have been created for the theme but ironically used elsewhere first. Could be what they mean...
  • andheandhe Member Posts: 4,002
Can't edit my comment, but what I mean by used is appear in a set that hits release first.

The motorbike shell appeared in City earlier this year. And I doubt fabric/foil elements are being counted among the new molded elements—they aren't molded, for starters, just die-cut from a sheet.

The headphones around Monkie Kid's neck are new, though. And the bigfig body may be counted multiple times since it's a preassembled element (and unlike some bigfigs, both the top and bottom sections of it seem to be designed specifically for this character).

Is this a new neck attachement? And new colour for ball pin?

Isn't it just a tow ball on technic pin? There are red ones of those in the Rexcelsior.

Bricks and Pieces opened up to more countries today with a new look.

Still annoyingly buggy as before though.

@maniac thanks for the heads up but can I ask if you managed to place an order yourself ?

Ive tried but every time I went to place the order it wouldn’t work. A 50 minute wait to speak to them on the phone (hopefully they don’t charge me for the call this time) and they just said try again later. Unfortunately they couldn’t take the order over the phone as I was after 90 parts and that’s too much for a phone order 😞

I managed to get an order through at about 7pm BST yesterday.

It took 3 attempts to get the order to checkout.
    - I get Access Denied 'Banned' often on Lego's website where I have to wait around 20 mins (although I just used hotspot from my mobile to get around that).
    - Also the good ol' one where the parts don't carry over to cart.
    - Images also wont appear properly currently probably because of server load.

Lego really need to put more investment into their backend and less into making the frontend look pretty.

^ yeah defo, I know there’s a lot going on at the moment but the Lego site has always sucked and now it’s just a lot harder to sort any problems out.

To be fair mine all went into the cart everything was ok just wouldn’t do the last step. It showed up at their end that I’d tried to order parts and there wasn’t any payment issues it just would’nt work.

My wife’s just rang and they’ve said she can email them the list of parts and they’ll put the order in, not sure why they wouldn’t do that for me ?

#43179 The new Mickey and Minnie Mouse, has what looks to be quarter circle cylinder corners  in a 2x2 size to create the hosepipe arms and legs. New Elementary highlighted the massive half radar dishes with the eyes on them.
...and hold the presses, is that the reissue classic space helmet in black for their noses?! That's the last of the original colours, just green and light bluish grey needed to round out the officially available torsos! Verrrry interesting!

Actually, looks like New Elementary has all the new parts covered:

I was wrong, the hosepipe pieces are 45⁰ pieces not 90⁰!

So many nice recolors in the Mario sets. My favorite is the dark orange 2x2 with groove brick. Those have only existed in black and dark gray and are great for building designs.

Exactly my thoughts as well! Also, some nice new pieces. I quite like the idea of using the new plate pieces in minecraft sets. The green ones will be really useful in creating grass areas.

Which set do you see that piece in?

It forms the base of the finish flag pole in the starter set. I wish they made a 1x2 with groove as well in dark orange. Whilst they're at it, do the sand green one as well!

I'm strangely taken by the new chonky brick separator, especially since it comes in black. Should be fun to squeeze into builds.

The handle seems to splay so you cannot put them next to each other in a build.

Are the 2x6 tiles in the Nintendo set new?
  • 560Heliport560Heliport Member Posts: 4,275
Here's something I find strange... in the Monkie Kid sets, you get an extra of the teal headphones piece, but no extras of the gold piece that's similar to a lightsaber hilt. The hilt thing is also used in other colors. If you're missing one, it affects the build; if you were missing the headphones, you can still build Monkie Kid.
  • 560Heliport560Heliport Member Posts: 4,275
At Bricks and Pieces, the headphones are $.88, the "handle, no. 2" is $.19 for Dark Stone Grey, $.41 for Gold Ink. I don't understand why there's spare headphones, but not "handle, no. 2."
  • BrickByBrickBrickByBrick Member Posts: 748
Because the headphones are a smaller part with less mass. The reason Lego includes extras is because they use weight based QC checks. Certain parts that are small could get through the qc checks missing one of them so Lego includes an intentional extra to guarantee that each set will have at least as many as needed.

  • 560Heliport560Heliport Member Posts: 4,275
Yes, I know all that. But the "handle, no. 2" is only slightly larger than a "light sword shaft", of which I have many spares. Perhaps the weight of a light sword shaft is just under the "you get a spare" weight, and the handle, no. 2 is just over. I just feel the handle is much more essential to the build than the headphones.
