I made the same mistake when I first saw pics of that set! I needed my brother to point out to me what it really was. Pretty clever technique!

Someone on Facebook pointed out to me that some of the new Friends sets have a new 4x8 half-circle plate (like two of the quarter-circle plates put together). It's in white in #41119 and in Bright Yellowish Green (Lime) in #41113.

Some of the Mighty Micros sets like #76061 have a new wheel arch. Possibly 4x4?

And someone on Eurobricks pointed out that #21126 has new longer skeleton legs (like Woody's legs from Toy Story, but for skeletons).

Here are a couple that I found. I'm thinking they are new pieces, if not, please let me know. Sorry that the pics aren't better.

The 1x1 pyramid. I could use a couple hundred of these! 
The chain isn't new but I love the trans orange.

These are made like the big teeth but these brown beauties are much larger.  Also have to love the tan unikitty tails.


Most of the items in this pic are new colors. 
Blue flame large. (Are these the flame wings or a new mold)
New colors for flowers, head, sm leaves, and stem. Do you think those flowers are pearl?
what is holding the leaves to the house? Ummm.        Fun ahead!


All I have to say is "round teeth".

Either that or like 15070 1x1 with vertical tooth. I just can't tell which.

@Twiddlepotts the yellow flowers in your picture are just the regular ones we've had forever but I believe the pale blue and darker purple ones are new.

The limbs are attached by the small domed pieces they put on flick missiles.

The blue flames are the same piece as Eris' wings in 70224.

There are pink ice cream cones inside, is that a new color?

I'm calculating how long I'll have to wait before I can remove the white limbs without my daughter noticing :).

Nope definitely the "barraki eye" piece.
In the Arendelle castle set,  the flower piece is new in bright light blue and medium lavender.  The flower stem I'd new in lilac. The 1x6 tiles with the geometric pattern are printed.  The white limbs are new.  There's a new 1x2x1 panel piece with sides used in  various colours in new sets.  Think some of the aqua slopes are new in that colour too.

Rebrickable has some of the sets up now. lostinTranslation is right, they are trans light blue barraki eyes. There is another new piece listed that I'm excited about. 23969

I received my prison island yesterday! the new giant rock piece is hollow (thank God!) and there was also a new piece for the bottom part of the balloon: a 6x2 plate with rounded corners (two times in black!)

Not in a 2016 set.

And by the same token, it was available at the end of 2014.

The "cockpit" (tha's what TLG call it) appears in a number of sets, but it's always been printed. Technically, that makes this "new".

The bushes in Vampyre Castle are sand yellow; this is brick yellow.

Yes, many CMFs are about 85% new parts (obviously the stand is not new for all).

Haven't seen anyone comment on this here yet, but we're getting inverse "baby bows" (1x2x2/3 curved slopes) in at least one of the Elves sets (Fire Dragon's Lava Cave, on the dragon's hind legs). They've also been sighted on the Ninjago Lighthouse Siege in the summer (on the corners of the roofs). Seems like it'll be a very useful part.

Yup! You can also see that piece in the summer Marvel sets, to attach the new "web-slinging" piece for Spider-Man.

Ahh! I think it's clearer to see in the Ecto1 though. There's a load of other parts in new colours too, including 1x1 round tiles in black, which I REALLY REALLY NEED! :D I'm so happy about that.

Saw this cool new part on the bumper of http://brickset.com/sets/60122-1/Volcano-Crawler-Vehicle . Seems to be http://brickset.com/parts/design-11090 but with a 3.2mm bar, so that should be pretty useful. Also, there's a new pointy type of thing on the end of the drill, and the grill on the front looks like a new mold as well.

Good spotting. I had seen the grille part on one of the smaller volcano research sets but must have missed the first part you mentioned. Seems really useful!

However, the pointy bit at the end of the drill is probably just one of these.

I seem to recall the lady at the London toy fair saying something about a new drill piece but I didn't pay too much attention to the Volcano sets.

The 4x6 windscreen and 4x4 wedge from Nexo Knights are well known at this point, since they've been in several sets. The 8-wide wedge on the front the Thunder Mace is new for summer, though.

The air intakes on the Aero-Striker V2 are not too complex, and it's a technique I've seen on MOCs before. It's two of these and two of these.

Blue Beetle's wings are this in a new color, but the Bright Blue wing covers are new.

I'm happy to say that the new 'cat ears' headgear piece from the blakc panther minifig is made with a harder type of plastic than the darth maul piece from a while ago. It fits better!
