It would also require a x5 plate as well. So unlikely.

I have a 4x5 plate. #383 Truck with Excavator. In fact, 3-wide doors from the same time period!

Do you mean the 5x6 modified plate with hole? I cannot see them bring back parts from about 50 years ago.

You're right, 5x6. But they do keep making parts in odd sizes- 3x3 plate, for instance.

I think I see a couple other new parts in this:

#60190 - the snowshoe on the back of the ice glider looks new.
#60194 and #60195 - the snowmo-cycle chassis.
#60195 and #60196 - the big saw blade with the bidirectional teeth.

Also, why can’t TLG get people to follow directions when assembling demo displays? They put the rear wing on backwards in #60196, and they forgot the hook on the end of the string in #60193.

On the subject of odd sized parts, I hadn't realised until I got one in hand but the unikitty figure bases are 5 x 3, which looks really odd against a lot of other LEGO parts but makes perfect sense against the figures.

I called up Lego CS (UK) today about some parts missing from my last B&P order and the guy let me buy the new City eagle (6241730; £3.17) and sabretoothed tiger (6237743; £6.12) in case anyone's interested in the price and part numbers.
The rest was mostly just new hairpieces as usual :-)

I was reading an interview of Jamie Berard by Tom Alphin (http://brickarchitect.com/2018/interview-lego-creator-expert-jamie-berard/) and at the very end he asked Jamie about favorite elements, and this was part of his response...

I will have to respectfully pass on this because my current favorite ones are very current, and I’m afraid I don’t know what’s out and available. I would say that within the last year or two (which may mean next year for you), there are some wishlist elements that we have wanted for 10 years… There is a lot of goodness coming out soon.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it only the solid stud ones that LEGO made and weren't they only made in a test/short run capacity? I don't recall seeing hollow stud ones. I know MB had/have them but the studs are only half hollow on those.

^Unless you have really small hands, those look like Duplo. But something like that in LEGO system is long overdue.

Yes, those are they. I hadn't seen the hollow stud ones, so, their existence is now not in question, but, these are either prototypes or test pieces that have been acquired in some way. Right?
If they aren't listed in the inventory of a set, or weren't generally available in a set or supplementary pack that was available to buy in a general sense then, I would like them to be generally available on a permanent basis. Not just in 2x4 either, but in as many variants as possible, including wedge plates and rounds.

Yes, they're prototype parts that never made in any set. My guess is that it would either blow the SYSTEM or just generally confuse builders. Or maybe ol' Kirk got spooked by the upside down, who knows?

But it is rather odd with the plethora of new wierd snotty things and thus much more advanced building techniques we have not seen anything like this at all. There are many tricks to invert but nothing as easy and neat as this. It's like TLG doesn't want to touch this kind of building with a ten foot pole

I know MB have/had(?) a similar part (and I think also in a 2x2 format?) so perhaps that might be copyrighted? I do not know if my parts are made before, or after, MB's

Scratch the ten foot pole comment ..

Those plates resemble the early snot bricks (2434 from '90 & 6061 from '92 - I suspect those plates were made around the same time), but those parts only seemed to be used for attaching stuff on the side

TLG have put out a lot of snot bricks, modified plates, bars, bows and arches so I wonder what he's thinking of?

I wouldn’t mind seeing TLG release parts like these two. The blue one is definitely MB, and I assume the white one is too, but it has no markings.

A possible reason LEGO hasn't made similar pieces- it might be difficult to separate them from other parts. I think they'd need some kind of groove, like on the bottom edge of a tile, so you could use the sharp end of a brick separator.

^ Yes, the little edge cut-in, like on tiles and 2x2 jumper plates would be required for the non-studded piece. The studded piece would be more brick separator friendly.

@Astrobricks If I remember correctly Tyco bricks had a piece like the tan one in black.

^I didn't notice that! Cool! I never minded using regular legs for children, i.e. early versions of Anakin Skywalker. Adults aren't all the same size either, and I kinda preferred bending legs for the kids, but this is definitely an improvement.

Looking again, I think the height of the new legs is right in between the normal legs and short legs.

^ there are so many pieces in Voltron, without really looking too closely I can see a wealth of parts in new colours that I'm going to want, not least some of those silver parts, which may or may not all be new, but I want all the same. Looks to be ingots in the light orange (jungle yellow as I think of it)... need!

I really like the new loudspeaker element. The classic space blaster is good and all, but with that you could potentially build a full on demo (or the lifeboat scene from Titanic)

Are these the new arched parts that were in white on the leaked Hogwarts Great hall set (they were still samples in white)? They look like 1x1 bricks with half stud arches on both sides. Or does anyone else know what parts these might be?

Screen cap from the Hogwarts designer video.  Justin also mentions "two new elements for the stained glass windows" but I'm not sure what they are.
