New parts discussion

Hi everyone,
I was looking for a discussion where we can talk about new lego parts. If there's already a discussion about this topic, could someone link it below?

The new part that I noticed and I've not yet seen any discussion about this, is in the new 2016 Prison Island set 60130
In the 'pipeline' where prisoners can escape it looks like there's a 'reverse' arch, to make it perfectly round!
Are my eyes deceiving me?
Someone else noticed this?

Again: if there's already a discussion about this, sorry! Could you remove it and link me to the real discussion?
Thank you guys!

yes indeed! I think it's only the second set where we can get this piece, right?

Yep. It was kind of a surprise not to see it in any more 2015 sets. #70602 Jay's Elemental Dragon (which I believe comes out in March) also uses it.

Looking at the 2016 sets on the main site, I spotted in this picture ...
    http://images.brickset.com/sets/AdditionalImages/31050-1/31050_alt8.jpg
... multiple 1x1 round tiles in red. I appreciate that not many other people will be that excited by these, but I've been hoping for this part in red ever since the part appeared a couple of years back. (does the happy dance).

^ It looks quite odd on the traffic lights. Why use one tile (red) and the others as plates (yellow, green)?

Because that's what is required for the primary model, the Corner Deli.

Red is a very color for this part. I also need it in black... one day...

Spotted this the other day; quite excited about bley 'ingots' becoming more readily available, but this part looks pretty useful too ...

    Bricklink name might be - "Brick, Modified 1 x 2 x 1 2/3 with 4 studs on one side" ?

There is also this new large wall piece that is in #75827, #60108, #70317, #60131.

Yes, I think that was one that many noticed.. :) (though I hadn't noticed the black and blue one myself because my lack of interest in those sets..)
  • MynattMynatt Member Posts: 631
Well it is a very hard to miss piece and since no one had brought it up here I decided to add it to the list. While there is also the new small spear piece, nexo shield, and naturally new mini figure accessories, I found this one to grab my eye. I usually hate large bricks, especially BURPS, but this one has some possibility to it. Futuristic and modern, I can see this piece in cities and cargo space ships.
  • MynattMynatt Member Posts: 631
Just noticed this one. Cool that we also get a new variation of a rope end.

I also went ahead and attached a few more of the obvious ones.

What's new about the harpoon piece?  The color?

Nope, the color appears to be the same as the one in Ann Lee's hair from the Monster Fighters sets. However, the Squirebots' torsos and shoulders are new.

there's something looking weird on http://brickset.com/sets/60131-1/Crooks-Island . is that a new huge burp piece or regular grey bricks?

The best photographs show no cracks on the piece, but do show them elsewhere. And all the LEGO logos go the same way. So it's a BURP, or BURPs.
  • AanchirAanchir Member Posts: 3,037
It's frustrating that there are absolutely no pics of that set showing the back/interior.
  • TigerMothTigerMoth Member Posts: 2,343
"Container hideout features a rock wall hiding space" suggests it must be at least partially hollow.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,679
that would be a really useless piece if it wasn't hollow
    Aanchir
  • TigerMothTigerMoth Member Posts: 2,343
    Am you just being awkward?

I meant hollow from the side, as opposed to more conventional hollow from the bottom, because @Aanchir was talking about seeing it from the back.

Noticed a new wedge in the Speed Champs set. Here is the Corvette version:

Also saw a pair of red ones on the front of the Camaro.

I noticed one of these in a MB set my son got as a party favor a couple years ago. At the time, I thought it was such an obvious piece to make and wondered why LEGO had never made it. It's nice to see it appear.

It looks more or less diagonal.  I'd say we now have a CURP - Corner Ugly Rock Piece.  This is really excellent for anyone that needs to build big mountains as it will be easier than using BURPs and LURPs to create a rounded or 3-D rockscape.

it looks symetrical to me, with the plan of symetry being diagonal

Just took a closer look to the 2016 Lego Brand Catalog. These are the new parts I noticed, that a lot of you would probably have noticed too. Some of them, I'm not sure they're new, so please correct me if I'm wrong...
The new batmobile 'windscreen' (actually two parts) that are used in set #76046 and #76045

new windscreen piece for #76047 (also appears in ninjago #70601) I'm not entirely sure about this one being new, so correct me if I'm wrong...

This hairpiece, from the posters I would've thought they'd reuse Aurra Sings'  hairpiece, but in black, but it looks like a new part.

Captain America's hairpiece in this set looks the same as that of the new Superman, but in a different colour.. These are the only sets I've spotted them in.. (Superman in two sets)

This Ninjago flyer part looks new..

The top part of this egg looks new to me, the bottom part I'm not sure about, it could be the bottom rock piece that has been used in a lot of different colours through the ages..

I believe this sand timer is new and it looks amazing i.m.o.. Hope to see it in different colours!

Obviously the new book piece was noticed in the Nexo Knights theme, but it will also make it's appearance in the Elves sets.. I'm not sure, but is the brown bowed piece new? And the lamp is made with a frying pan, but I think I've never seen it in pearl gold..

    What do you guys think?
Did you notice other new parts?
  • AanchirAanchir Member Posts: 3,037
The windscreen in #76047 is new, but actually different than the one from #70601. 70601 uses an existing windscreen.

Nadakhan's hairpiece from LEGO Ninjago is new, and will also be appearing in Dark Red as Macy's hairpiece/plume in LEGO Nexo Knights.

The part on the Ninjago flyer is a spinner crown from 2012. Not a super-common piece, but not a new one, either.

The frying pan in Warm Gold is new, and will also be in #70604 Tiger Widow Island.

Thanks @Aanchir !!! You're right, I looked too quick I guess :) I had never seen the spinner crown piece!
  • wardmwardm Member Posts: 886
Also note that on the batmobile the batsign is printed on the new nexo knights shield piece!

With the first pictures of the Angry Birds LEGO sets:

A lot of you must have already seen the new egg pieces, but the bottom sides of the balloons look new to me too.. They look taller than the bowl pieces we've had recently, or am I wrong? (and they come in different colours)
BUT DO YOU SEE WHAT I'M SEEING?????????
THAT HOT DOG? IS IT A BUN WHERE A SAUSAGE FITS IN???

Pretty sure it's just a 6x6 dome windscreen, but in black. Still a neat recolor, though.

I don't think so, the one in the angry birds set looks less deep and more smooth..

The reason I said that is because it appears to have something attached to the outside.
  • MattsWhatMattsWhat Member Posts: 1,643
^I think it is sitting on some sort of cradle from the structure behind it.  It looks like a grey tube piece of some sort with something brown crammed in the end.  (Best description of lego parts ever there)

  • AanchirAanchir Member Posts: 3,037
Again, pretty sure it's a recolor of http://brickset.com/parts/design-50747. You can see the click hinges that attach it to the wall in the back.

The flames on the sides are not attached to the dome, but to the wall behind it. If it were http://brickset.com/parts/design-60288 then the Technic pin holes on the top would be pretty plainly visible.

Ah, yes. Clipped to one of these. I thought it was all one piece and was a bit confused about what it could be used for otherwise.
