Stayed up a little late to order the Ice Festival (2 copies).  The site gave me no issues at all.  I was a bit surprised by that.

Ashoka and the Lion Dance BHz continue to be "coming soon." I keep checking every night at 9 PST just in case they go live.

At this point, I actually want them to not go live until Feb 1 when the Toy Story BHz go available too.

All this waiting has me tempted to just order the Ice Festival set to scratch the itch!

You can setup in stock text alerts for those sets at Brickhound.

Monkie Kid City of Lanterns is available again for backorder now. Qualifies for both promos. I added an Xtra polybag so the freebies would ship early with it.

I got my Brickhound notice for Ashoka BHz this morning, but was disappointed to see the Tiger Dance BHz still was OOS.

Debating making an order and paying for shipping just to secure Ashoka and trying to wait until February 1st in hopes that somehow the Toy Story BHz actually release the same day and I can get both Toy Story offerings, Tiger Dance, and Ashoka at once...
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,422
^ I'm not a gambling man. I ordered Ahsoka right away as well as two of the new Creator train that also became available. At least it got free shipping.

^Alright, you convinced me. Ashoka has been purchased. I had a spare "free shipping" code that I decided to use. I'm trying to be good to start the year on spending, so decided to avoid adding to the cart just to get the free shipping.

I'm sure the Tiger Dance BHz will show up in 30 minutes...

Anybody else have items disappearing from their wishlist on [email protected]?  I'm assuming it's retired items but I can't figure out exactly what's missing.  Several of my lists now have boxes with this "account.wishlist.unavailable.product".

I went ahead and grabbed Ahsoka. Brickheadz availability has always seemed to be either sold out in three days forever or available on discount for 2 years with nothing in between.
  • pxchrispxchris Member Posts: 2,388

Do you remember which sets fell off your wishlist?  I still have some late 2020 releases on my wishlist (hoping they'll come back in stock...).
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 976
No, that's the problem.  The few I've checked that I expected to have fallen off are still there.  I know my original list before they made the big change was mostly gone last week so I just deleted all the "unavailable" boxes after I made sure everything else was on my smaller labeled lists.  My Dots list has a missing item and I can't remember which of the older releases I still had on it.  Guess I need to take screen shots in the future.  Just checked a few that I thought should have been there and they are no longer listed with the current sets so maybe those are what's missing but they were definitely still there last week when I was cleaning up my lists.

Well, Lion Dance Guy BHz is finally in stock. At this point I'll cross my fingers that it's still available on Feb 1st with the other BHz offerings. My Ashoka has already shipped, otherwise I'd call CS and ask to have it added on. I very well might still be able to get them to send it with free shipping. But, being 9 days away isn't too bad.
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,422
My friend added a Lion Dance Guy to her order for me so I don't have to deal with shipping.

Bo Peep and Woody BHz are now available on [email protected] But now I'm debating waiting until 3/1 to get the Chip'n'Dale BHz as well. This release schedule has been frustrating...but undoubtedly planned intentionally by LEGO.

I don't anticipate issues with getting Bo Peep and Woody a month from now. Hopefully I won't regret this stance later.

Seriously! If they're not all in stock and ready at the beginning of the month, just wait to release them the same day as the next batch. They're not going to get any more of my money by staggering like this, they're just adding anxiety!
    Switchfoot55
  • karritkarrit Member Posts: 976
Got to agree that the staggered/delayed releases are getting ridiculous.  Right now there are a few large ticket items I'd like to get that are actually in stock at the moment.  But until such time they offer double points or a decent GWP I refuse to place another order.  As for the little stuff that keeps showing up randomly I'm tired of having to piece together a large enough order to trigger free shipping only to have a low threshold GWP be offered a few days later.  Nearest store is too far away for me to visit weekly or even monthly so that isn't an option for me.  Don't even get me started on the "store exclusive" GWP's that are also being sold at places like Walmart & Target.
I get the whole supply chain issue but that excuse is wearing thin at this point.  I thought the whole point of having manufacturing facilities around the world was to alleviate this type of problem.

^ It’s not necessarily a problem for Lego that you can’t buy everything you want when you want, with the discounts and GWPs you want.

Well....for discussion purposes only because I highly respect your comments and insights here on the forum and I have been here a long time reading them; I do think it is a problem for Lego. Seems alot of people here spend alot of money both buying and promoting Lego. Continually alienating good customers does erode your base. As the largest toy company in the world (?) and privately owned with their own manufacturing and production plants I do think there is plenty of room for improvement. I freely admit I know nothing about the toy business, manufacturing or production so it's all just opinion and conversation. What I do know is it all hinges on where the tire meets the road. At the end of the day it's the customer experience that will determine the outcome. I do think Lego has both the knowledge and money to improve that experience. In America a long time ago (I'm 66) there was a saying in the auto industry "As GM goes, so goes the country" well GM built poorer and poorer cars, gas guzzlers ect. and then Honda and Toyota showed up.
       Stepping down off soapbox.

I know everyone is tired of hearing about supply chain issues, trouble getting staff, inflation, etc., but those are still real issues affecting damn near every industry. I’m not going to waste my precious mental energy getting pissed at every company that can’t seem to supply everything I want at my preferred price. We are still in extraordinary times. I’m not being an apologist for Lego, just a realist.

Hmm... I'm definitely not upset about the supply chain issues. I understand that Lego intended to release some sets earlier than they were able to, and that the delays were likely outside their control.

However, I'm saying I wish they stuck to a release date schedule of releasing smaller sets on the first of the month instead of releasing them at random points throughout the month. The big D2C sets can release whenever they want, as far as I'm concerned. It's the small ones like Brickheadz that require piecing together multiple sets to get free shipping that are an annoyance for me, personally. And it's not just about free shipping. I am genuinely trying to consolidate orders more often to reduce the number of trips delivery trucks are making to my house.

I keep thinking that when the dam breaks and these supply chain issues are over, and inflation reeeeally kicks in, not many are going to have money for superfluous purchases like LEGO.  The powers that be at LEGO might be thinking the same thing and putting sets on the market as soon as they hit the warehouses - no matter what set it is.

^ Not sure why inflation should get worse when the problems that keep supply from meeting demand get resolved. But that’s for an off-topic thread.

I’m sure holding anything back right now must seem insane to them, given the demand and trouble just pushing things through the pipeline.

^ Didn’t mean to suggest that one would lead to the other.  I can see where it could read that way though.  My point is that inflation is growing rapidly. More rapidly than I’ve ever seen in my lifetime anyway.   By the time the LEGO shipping problem is remedied, who knows what the price of groceries will cost a month.  Or gasoline.  Or a new kitchen appliance.  More and more families are inevitably going to struggle.  And struggling families are not going to buy toys instead of essentials so maybe LEGO is selling while they can as fast as they can.

It has been mentioned elsewhere but thought I put it here as well. The Gryffindor dorms GWP is back with Harry Potter purchases. Not sure what the threshold is as I spent over $100.  I wasn’t able to get it a couple months ago so I was glad to grab one this time…

Now just trying to decide if I place one more order for some other older sets I want, or wait to see what the next promo is.

Pulled the proverbial trigger and bought the three main "The Batman" sets.  I was waiting for a good deal (like a discount)...but 2x VIP and the secondary cost of the Jane Goodall set did me in.

I haven't told my wife yet, so I guess that means I'm officially in the club, right?  I can't remember who is normally guilty of this...so I guess I'll just tag @SumoLego.
