Lego catalogue arrived today, it mentions early black Friday sale the Monday prior to BF. Just mentions select sets in sale.
Good. Maybe they’ll get the crashing out of the way early.

The Brick Fan has pics and info on Pre Black Friday, BF, and Cyber Monday GWPs...

The minifig is from the Australian S@H site but may be available worldwide...it is connected with CM sales.  The brick-built brick promo is for purchases $200 and more 11/23-24 and will stack with the Christmas Tree.  Supposedly double VIP also...

The mini Batmobile stacks with the Christmas Tree on BF (11/29) — mini surfer van also available but in-store only for it.

Personally I’m not too interested in the fig, but I am a bit disappointed to miss the big red brick promo... I’m having to prioritize the mini BM though...

Ditto.  Priority is the Batmobile but that brick built red brick does look nice.  I would be interested in the BF minifig, though.  Just have to see what the threshold is, that is, if it's available here in the US...
  • klintonklinton Member Posts: 1,256
I really wish they're reversed that, so that people shopping this weekend got the mini Batmobile and people buying the Batmobile got the brick. That makes more sense, no? Get people hyped for the Batmobile. Or, better stiil, that they'd offered early access to the Batmobile. :p

As it is, I'm sitting here trying to figure out whom I can gift Lego for Christmas so I can get the brick. I cannot justify an additional 200$ splurge on myself right now, and I don't really have anyone on my list that would be overjoyed to get a Lego set. *grumble*

Awww dangit!   False alarm.  Just noticed that ad said ‘selected sets’.  Oh well.  Was hoping for the Disney Train but what are the chances of that.   Guess it’s better than nothing though.

The 30% off is on selected sets though.

    @Bumblepants
I had the same thought— several of those are over 40% off on Amazon right now, so not much of an incentive.  Whenever S@H has % off sales I have to do the calculation and decide if the associated GWP is worth the higher price or whether to try to get it on the secondary market.  For example, it is possible that the ‘89 Batmobile could go on sale at 10 or 20% off a year from now, but I suspect that the mini version GWP will be desirable and only get more expensive as time goes on... therefore I will be up at 12:01 AM on the 29th praying that the website is actually functioning.

No sign of the Brick Friday minifig...wonder if it will be added to cart on Cyber Monday?  Otherwise, I feel the need to acquire him/her somehow...

I believe, but don't hold me to this, that the Christmas tree may be available on the 23rd and 24th for VIPs as well.

Also, there are likely to be some other desirable (depending on who you are) GWP prior to Christmas, including the micro Gingerbread house build based on the new Winter Village set, and potentially some SW 20th Anniversary polybag, although afaik neither of those are confirmed in any way right now.
  • flightriskflightrisk Member Posts: 210
That mini gingerbread house is sweet!  Pun not intended.  I hadn’t seen that yet.

  • autolycusautolycus Member Posts: 1,432
Well, I might have been willing to shell out $200 this weekend AND again the next weekend to get all the GWP, but... the 30% would have to be on sets I actually want. Like the retiring Carousel. Or anything large from HP or SW. or a modular (other than PR which I already have). I’d even possibly be interested at 20% on those.

Wouldnt surprise me if the 2x4 is available in the future unless they made a REALLY small number.

Wait, so there is no 2x VIP on Black Friday? Am I understanding this correctly? Like, people going into the Lego Store on BF who aren't after the Batmobile are greeted with no other offers?

Yes, unless something changes, I think that is correct.  Both in the UK and US.   AFAIK they are (so far) only offering the 30% off and the batmobile.    The UK ad states some other sets will be 20% off and there will be daily deals also.

Btw, I’m glad you pointed that out.  Yesterday i went to a dr’s appt on the wrong day.  A 3 hour drive for nothing!  Turns out that I thought this week was Thanksgiving week and i had been looking at my calendar wrong all because the LEGO blackfriday sale (2xVIP) starts on the 23rd.  I couldn’t figure out how i made that mistake until i read your post.  Now (thank goodness) - I know why.
So thank you klinton.   I wont be scheduling a brain MRI now.  And i wont be showing up at my cousins expecting dinner tomorrow either.

Well the Christmas tree will be a promo on Black Friday and it looks pretty good...

Also in store they will have the mini surfer van.  Those 2 plus the mini Batmobile is not too bad of a haul TBH...

Surely more sets will be on sale Black Friday than for this kind of lame VIP weekend, right? They’ll want to clear out all the retiring sets.

I haven’t been to my store recently enough. Any sets that seem like they’ve been pulled to be held for stock that weekend like they’ve done in the past?

Apologies for missing this if it has been discussed, but does anyone know if the promos will drop at midnight or if they will go live that morning? Sometimes the new sets and promos kick in at like 7 or 8 AM the morning of

That’s fair. Sometimes the new sets launch in the morning tho. Wondering if Batmobile will be available at midnight or in the AM
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,729
It should be available at midnight EST. Past experience says it will be a frustrating disaster.

I forgot about the Christmas tree. I was just looking at the email, and it seems like there are all kinds of specials this weekend, and very little going on for BF. The Batmobile release is more than enough to get me to show up personally (I can't freaking wait!! Only 9 more sleeps!!), but it feels a bit like casual shoppers not after that set are going to be a bit dissapointed. I guess Lego knows when they've got a surefire hit on their hands though. :D

Yep. Took a bit but the sale price should show in cart now. I was hoping for Voltron to be on the 30% off list like for Europe. I'm not too interested in much else on the US site.

I bumped the item count up to 2 then back to 1 and that fixed it. Regular refresh wasn't for some reason.

Cloud City, Y-wing, and Apocalypseburg are all 30% off plus double VIP and Christmas Tree promo... I had waited on the Y-Wing ( #75181 ) but always liked the look of it, so pretty pleased with an effective 40% off

Wow - totally successful VIP order! Gingerbread house, Christmas Tree GWP, B&P order that included parts for 80101 and 80102 that I was missing from when I initially tried to order the sets piece by piece... I'm just missing the dragon's eyes now!

Any idea if there are any exclusive elements in the buildable 2x4? Wondering how hard it'd be to bricklink it.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
I missed out on the opening of the sale, but I just checked and realized I did not miss out on much.
Ill need to find something as I want that tree promo, but not really seeing anything I must buy at this point, maybe Ill check PaB online

Y-wing would have been nice to get on discount.  I wonder how long it lasted.  I think last year they restocked some of the modulars during the sale so maybe that could happen again?  Crossing my fingers.....

I ordered about 10:30 EST and was able to get the Y-wing, but Apocalypseburg and Cloud City were already gone. The site was easy to navigate, so there must not have been the crowd like there probably was earlier.

Couldn't resist, didn't want to do it but my fingers moved of their own accord and before I could stop them the Corner Garage was in the bag and my credit card started to smoulder. I have absolved myself of all responsibility!

So I had the Corner Garage in shopping cart, went to redeem my VIP points for use on this purchase, and accidently selected the in-store voucher instead of shop online.

Hope customer service can resolve before the sale ends, but I'm not hopeful.
