    Not new, I think it was introduced when the UCS MF came back. It's the only $500+ item. I'm sure it's designed to detract resellers from hoarding and then returning them when they can't sell them.

    heard of similar gaming the system with coins. At one time, the US Mint sold dollar coins at face value but people bought them for credit card rewards and promptly deposited them, defeating the point of getting the coins in circulation.

    Maybe I'm late to the discussion of promo advertising, but I pretty much only buy from Lego (online or in a store) when I get something good in return.  Otherwise I buy for lower prices at other outlets.  If Lego wants more of that business, then offer me compelling reasons.  I'm patient and can wait months to buy something I want.

    I've never seen accessory packs like that at Walmart. Maybe Target would get them eventually.

    The accessory packs are only sold (in the USA at least) at LEGO stores, SAH and the LLDC stores as far as I know.

    The set comes with a small instruction sheet showing how to build the front end of a junked car using the provided pieces.

    Right?! I can barely get them to send me the catalogs lately (I have to manually request each one), and I've never seen a promotional mailer. 

    At least there are helpful people on here like @MegtheCat who share the news! :D

    That's the reason I posted it, because I hadn't seen it mentioned yet. $40 isn't too bad a threshold, but then it is limited to TLM2 sets. 

    Speaking of promos though, does anyone think the new Friends flower, #30408 might be a GWP on Valentine's day like the Friendship Flower was last year? I will just be happy if it shows up at Wal-Mart or Target later.

    They are at LDCs so my guess is that Walmart or Target will get them as well.

    Right now they are having 2x VIP on all TLM2 sets + the free #30460 with $40 spend on TLM2 sets.

    Question - is it common when you order the maximum of an item for it to read "Limit Exceeded" on that item? I ordered 2 Sewer Baby packs and received this message, but there are 2 sets showing on my order summary.

    It does that once you hit the max in the cart, the bottom in the item listing will default to that instead of having a button that says 'add to bag'. Also, do not try to order 2 in one order and 2 in another, the second order (in its entirety) will be cancelled by LEGO.

    I had some issues getting the promo added after meeting the $40 threshold.  Seems like if you order #853874 it doesn't count.  Also had 2 of #70841 and a #853865. After chatting with customer service they manually added the promo after I placed the order.

    The Pod may not be a 'set', but rather under the 'gear' category.

    I had the same issue with the pod - pod wasn't counting towards freebie, but was getting double points. Exact opposite with TLM2 minifigures. I chatted with CS, they said they were aware, and fixed it (around 11am EST)

    Was at the LEGO store in Schaumburg, they have the new #40305 LEGO store set in stock, as well as #853865 LEGO Movie 2 accessory kit (with the sewer babies), LEGO Movie 2 CMFs, and the LEGO #40359 picture frame set. They also still had Year of the Pig promos (if purchases over 88) sets as well as those LEGO movie 2 card packs and the Rex polybag.
    Their Build a figure did not have any more bulldogs however :-(

    Just noticed the trading card album not being added to cart although the trading card packs still were, and yes I'm logged in through my VIP account.

    I notice that too, did also see the Rex poly in the bag/cart as well. Man, Apocolypseburg with doublepoints  and the poly is is awfully tempting....

    Do you need an album? I think I have four now. I have not opened one of them, I'm guessing one only needs one?

    Just got the email from Lego advertising the Plantimal Ambush promo for Feb 8-10. It is late in the day on the 10th and too late for me to care. If only they had some sort of, oh I dunno, a calendar. They could put promo dates on it! Genius.

    No remodel unless you count moving sets around the store. It's not a grand opening event, it's a build a giant Emmet Minifigure

    They remodeled the Schaumburg IL store as well, not sure if they handed out LEGO store sets though.
