I have seen the icebreaker set at TRU. With the 20% off city sets now wouldn't be too bad of a time to get it.

Yeah, but the local TRUs by me no longer have them in stock otherwise I probably would jump at it as even with TRUs inflated 'retail' Im sure the 20% cuts into it enough to make it worth it.

What is heartbreaking, to me, is that I have the Arctic Icebreaker in my 'saved for later' list (even though it is long gone) and it shows that if it were available it would be $64.98
#21302 The Big Bang Theory was on sale for $47.98, but out of stock by the time I go to order. (I like the show and the price seemed great with 2x VIP)
I suppose other people snapped up the best deals already.
I wonder if TLG deliberately keeping them out of stock.

For US VIP, or lego [email protected] Free Chicken Suit Guy with Any Purchase @ [email protected],  not sure if the local store would have it.

Your free minifigure will be automatically added to your shopping bag with a qualifying purchase. Available only at shop.LEGO.com, while supplies last.

Anyone hear anything about a free chicken suit guy with purchase?  Why hasn't anyone posted about this yet??!?!

^ They did, just before you asked. I just saw my email from [email protected] and checked here for it. Now I will order from them instead of paying the Ebay tax through the greedy people who found it necessary to empty TRU's. One guy I was told bought 600 of them with the no limit policy. I hope they have to eat them.

I think TLT is cracking wise about how this was posted earlier but apparently people are not reading the earlier posts before posting, but I'm guilty of doing such an act as much as the next guy, so I guess I cannot make a big deal out of it.

Picked up a Palace Cinema to get the Kai poly along with Chick suit guy... Now thinking about actually getting a Ferris wheel, but not really sure....

I wouldn't be so sure of that yet. I'm not seeing the chicken guy, or Kai polybag and they're trying to charge me shipping. It says they're having technical difficulties, probably due to many orders being placed.

People on Brick picker were reporting ordering a key chain and getting the chicken and many apparently have free shipping codes with no minimum so I'd say it got hammered hard.

So how long until all the free shipping codes are no longer functioning, both past and present?  (That is the typical path... Store offers something out of goodwill, it is abused, and then the loss is lamented by everyone once the abuse is prevented. :| )

The reality is that paying for shipping from [email protected] ($4.95) on a sub-$75 order is cheaper than you could directly purchase from TRU ($5.99), assuming you could find it.   Plus you get the added excitement of gambling from [email protected]  Will the Chicken box crush my Ferris Wheel, will the Ferris Wheel crush the chicken, or will both show up damaged?  No surprise they wen't quickly from [email protected]

It's funny how now that the chicken suit guy is gone, I suddenly don't feel much like placing that $150+ order I was planning after all.

Yeah, I'm feeling less interested in placing my $75 order. A lot of regular sets I wanted have also sold out. I'm not going to rush to place an order either.

Apparent the X-Men vs the sentinel was at 24.98 USD and briefly available (call for availability now) and the one holiday vignette with the snow man was knocked down to 4.98 (call for availability)

Why in the world would anyone ever do that?

Paypal doesn't protect as well as credit cards do.
Paypal doesn't have rewards like credit cards do.
    Paypal hates you.

It has been sold out for months. I suspect it was a glitch or that they found the a couple somewhere stashed away. This set won't die no matter how much I want it to =/

Yeah, I figured as much, because the DS apparently was also listed somewhere on the site as on sale. BUT there have been those that called up and did get the set so you never know. I know whenever I call for a call for availability it is long gone and the CS guys are ticked that it appeared at all.

That's what I meant. One less hoop to jump through when selling my possessions off on ebay to turn around and buy exclusives.

I heard the Valley Fair LS had them at 50% yesterday and someone bought them all off the shelf.

    Darn.

my friend picked up a few at Hillsdale!  i didn't plan to go to the one in Stonebridge, but I was there later and they still have a few when i left.

I picked up one at that price.  Store only had three on the shelf.   No idea if more were in the back, or if that was all they had.

Went to Downtown Disney (Anaheim) Lego Store. Label on shelf reflected 1/2 off but they were all sold out of the Ducks.

Dimensions starter packs are $49-$59 depending on platform. Same price at the store as well.

They had a few Easter Ducks at the Costa Mesa and Mission Viejo stores on Saturday; probably gone by now, I guess. Call first :)

    Thanks, @JooTog.

I was visiting and, with Passport handy, stopped by the Downtown Disney Lego Store.

Luckily, I was able to find some up here in NorCal.

Not bad for me, will save me money not having to get the promo figure.

LEGO could so easily spice up 5/4 by replacing the tired promo fig, with an exclusive set in the vain of the Xmas Train or Gingerbread House like they do for Xmas. Even if the discounts sucked, but you could get a 277-piece exclusive R2-D2 or Starkiller Base - that would be enough for me.

IMO The promo fig is tired as long as they put a wanted guy in the bag, but the other idea of a mini set would be nice, but LEGO makes far too much on May the 4th and SW in general to do that, me t'inks.
  • monstblitzmonstblitz Member Posts: 653
I got a really pissy response from the guy at my local lego store when I asked about May the 4th promotions.  Basically told me if I wasn't a member of a Lego group I could piss off.  And I can't get a straight answer from anyone in the area on how to join the local Lego Group.  If any of you guys have any experience with WAMALUG (D.C. area lego group), help me out!

^^^ Stores said in an email that if the LUG members selected to attend the early bird access hour did not pick up their cards, the store will distribute the rest of the cards to VIP members.

Ask if there are any more entry postcards - which weren't distributed - available.

When I pressed him he basically told me "You're too late" with a "piss off" type attitude.  And I spend a ton of money in that store so I wasn't happy.

^ Looks like there are two LEGO stores in your general area. If not too far away, it may be worth checking the other LEGO store. Both of the "local" stores in CT are an hour away from me.

  • gmonkey76gmonkey76 Member Posts: 1,828
^You can't get in if you don't have the post card, and the surprise set is only supposed to be given away before the store officially opens.
