What is the most you have spent on a Bricklink parts order?

If you're buying parts to use in creating kits of MOCs or similar, then I think a moderate profit is fairly easy, and not at all unreasonable. Figuring out the best way to bricklink a complex project can get tiring quite quickly!

The most I spent on a bricklink order is $17.05CAD ;) (It's the only order I have done yet :D)

I've been building my largest MOC (40-50,000 bricks) for the last few months. I daren't add up the cost of my BrickLink orders, but even then the largest orders are for around €150 just because you don't tend to find a shop with enough of what you want.

Also, I tend to want to get the pieces quickly, because until I build I can't be absolutely certain that I have ordered all I need. My favourite UK store is gizmocom (because they have great range, great prices, good packaging and usually get things to me the next day), and I seem to have ordered from there every couple of weeks.

^did he buy anything particularly rare? I'm guessing there aren't as many bricklink shops down under but still!

I already paid nearly 50€ of shipping from the USA. but it was to get helm's deep, complete for less than 80€, so in the end I paid a bit less than RRP.

This thread made me look up how much I spent on Bricklink (since I started ordering 7/2014).

    $3,385.69 Grand Total.

    Holy crap.

$530 was in shipping fees alone!

^is there an easy way to do that? I thought BrickLink deleted orders after 6 months, and I don't fancy going through my emails.

Only $1800 total in four years. Not horrible.

That's a neat feature. I've never seen that before. I have spent about $100/year for the last 4 years that I've been a member of Bricklink. I should buy more from there. Too many MOCs, not enough time/money.

Amateurs! I've spent on Bricklink since April of 2008 a whopping $15,786.82 which is just from the USA stores. I have to convert my overseas spending.

Is there a twelve step online program for addicted bricklinkers? Looks like some of us  need one quite badly if we are buying so many bricks for personal use and not resale. I finally had to quit looking at BL because I bought too much. Now I just use it for LEGO  emergencies. I don't dare print up my BL purchases.....hubby might see the list.

    Sure:

Step 1: Buy lots of elements from Bricklink
    Step 2: Buy more elements.
Step 3: Buy even more elements.

    ...

Step 11: Realise you've bought every single element on Bricklink.
Step 12: All sellers on Bricklink close down.

    Success! :D

$15k (£10k) in seven and a half years? That's barely averaging $2k (£1.3k) a year! I've spent at least £1.6k this year alone (although the previous two years was about that combined).

The headline figure is impressive, but when you break it down, not so much ;)

Well to further impress you, I've actually only ordered 23 months in that 7.5 year time span. I buy in spurts, so my monthly average spending is closer to $700 a month or $8,236 a year!  For instance, I didn't have any orders the entire years of 2009, 2010, and 2013. Only placed 1 order this year. I wish [email protected] had this feature so I could figure out that spending.

    Wow, some impressive figures!

And a good moment to look back at my own spendings on BrickLink in the past 14 years (all for personal use btw.)

    So here goes:

204 Orders Placed between August 2001 and November 2015 (not much, but...)

Averages: 15 Orders per year; EUR 95,43 per Order on LEGO; EUR 7,95 per Order on shipping (excl. import duties from many overseas orders...)

Totals: EUR 19467,72 (only on LEGO parts and sets); EUR 1621,80 (on shipping, excl. import duties...)

This makes for a Grand Total (excl. import duties) of EUR 21089,52 in the past 14 years, BrickLink only...

I'm almost ashamed to admit, but next to Bricklinking (is that even a verb?) I collect almost every Space, Dinosaur themed, LEGO Movie and every Star Wars set ever released (incl. polybags) and then since I got a son (2011) I have bought him about 1000 EUR worth of Duplo plus about 400 EUR worth of CITY sets, plus I collect occassionally Ideas sets, all CMF's (except Mr. Gold and the GB Team minifigures - too expensive for my taste), some Super Heroes sets plus some seasonal or promotional items.

When I look at the statistics here at Brickset of my personal collection I come to the rightful conclusion that I must be a heavy, heavy LEGO addict... (and in an attempt to preserve my marriage I can not state here my yearly average Grand Total spendings on all LEGO I buy...)

However, in the end it's not about HOW MUCH Lego you buy or own, but what you actually DO/BUILD with it, right?! (Though that's another discussion for another time and place.)

     ;-)

Oh, and to answer the OP's question:

Well over 650 EUR on a single BL -parts only- Order and well over 1000 USD on a single BL Order (part and sets in one go).

If you're still wondering OP; nope, you're definitely NOT the only one to ask yourself if you 'have a problem'...! LOL.

I've spent $2361.93 since 2008, not including shipping. I think that's pretty tame. I've also made $2615.13 since I started selling in 2013, so it has basically paid for itself.

i ve made a restriction to myself.

only spend money on bricklink if my paypal funds are loaded with funds from selling lego. so its paying off for itself!
