Also, I tend to want to get the pieces quickly, because until I build I can't be absolutely certain that I have ordered all I need. My favourite UK store is gizmocom (because they have great range, great prices, good packaging and usually get things to me the next day), and I seem to have ordered from there every couple of weeks.
$3,385.69 Grand Total.
Holy crap.
$530 was in shipping fees alone!
yesterday i did my largest order ever... a whopping 53€
bley slopes .....
Step 1: Buy lots of elements from Bricklink
Step 2: Buy more elements.
Step 3: Buy even more elements.
...
Step 11: Realise you've bought every single element on Bricklink.
Step 12: All sellers on Bricklink close down.
Success! :D
The headline figure is impressive, but when you break it down, not so much ;)
Wow, some impressive figures!
And a good moment to look back at my own spendings on BrickLink in the past 14 years (all for personal use btw.)
So here goes:
204 Orders Placed between August 2001 and November 2015 (not much, but...)
Averages: 15 Orders per year; EUR 95,43 per Order on LEGO; EUR 7,95 per Order on shipping (excl. import duties from many overseas orders...)
Totals: EUR 19467,72 (only on LEGO parts and sets); EUR 1621,80 (on shipping, excl. import duties...)
This makes for a Grand Total (excl. import duties) of EUR 21089,52 in the past 14 years, BrickLink only...
I'm almost ashamed to admit, but next to Bricklinking (is that even a verb?) I collect almost every Space, Dinosaur themed, LEGO Movie and every Star Wars set ever released (incl. polybags) and then since I got a son (2011) I have bought him about 1000 EUR worth of Duplo plus about 400 EUR worth of CITY sets, plus I collect occassionally Ideas sets, all CMF's (except Mr. Gold and the GB Team minifigures - too expensive for my taste), some Super Heroes sets plus some seasonal or promotional items.
When I look at the statistics here at Brickset of my personal collection I come to the rightful conclusion that I must be a heavy, heavy LEGO addict... (and in an attempt to preserve my marriage I can not state here my yearly average Grand Total spendings on all LEGO I buy...)
However, in the end it's not about HOW MUCH Lego you buy or own, but what you actually DO/BUILD with it, right?! (Though that's another discussion for another time and place.)
;-)
Oh, and to answer the OP's question:
Well over 650 EUR on a single BL -parts only- Order and well over 1000 USD on a single BL Order (part and sets in one go).
If you're still wondering OP; nope, you're definitely NOT the only one to ask yourself if you 'have a problem'...! LOL.
only spend money on bricklink if my paypal funds are loaded with funds from selling lego. so its paying off for itself!
