^ Exactly. It would massively increase the sturdiness of builds, especially in small spaces. Giving extra strengh is a big advantage. After all, why do you need 1x3 plates? Aren't they just the same as a 1x2 plate next to a 1x1 plate? ;)

No. It depends on how you want to use it. And you talk about strength - that's just one of those ways.

If they did that 1x3 jumper, I'd hope that it would have the modern style underside like 1x2 jumpers. Again, a bit more flexibility.

Well they make a lot less 1x3 pieces than 1x2 so you kind of undermined yourself... As for the added strength thing, that would require a very specific set of cicumstances - you want a 1x3 with a centrally positioned 1x2 above it AND you have nothing underneath or above or next to of any strength.  Not saying I wouldn't use it, I just feel like it doesn't bring much to the party.

No, I didn't, because although they may well make a lot less 1x3, the fact is that they do make them.

I'd love a 3x1 jumper with two studs, or even a 3x2 with two studs centred. They would be great for doing detailing on columns such as imposts (the sticking out bit under the arch). 



At the moment the only way to do these is to use a 1x3 plate, with a 1x2 jumper and a tile on top and that is a bit too deep. The other problem is that only one arch connects to each impost. You can of course include a further 1x2 on top of the jumper / under the arches connected to the single stud but this looks a bit clumsy and adds extra height when it may not be wanted.

Plates with anti-stud both sides, plates with studs both sides, a few of slope & curve bricks, but with studs where the originals have anti-studs, so they can be used on the undersides of builds. More slope & curve pieces, maybe even a few corner pieces & double angles, building dome shapes especially in small scale is not too pretty, my Brainiac's Skull Ship Microfighter is a good example:

Mold already exists.... a 2x2x3 double concave 78 degree sloped brick.  It would complete the mansard roof "system"... along with 1x2x3, 2x2x3, and 2x2x3 double convex 78 degree slopes.

Just thought of another piece I'd like to see, a 1x2 jumper plate, but with rounded ends, would be perfect if TLG ever made a Galactus minifigure, it could be used as the board for a microfigure Silver Surfer (I'm sure that there are at least a few people out that could find other uses for it too).

The piece I with they'd make is a proper mountain bike frame. 
The 'lego bike' hasnt changed in about 50 years.

We know they have been made previously, but (as you also know full well) in the case of the 1x8 and 1x6, they're not currently made. And a large part of their desirability is the discontinued sets that they were produced for. There's an unnecessary markup on certain elements, and to produce them Lego are missing out on potential profit and good customer interaction. So yeah... they should make them!

And of course there's reasons why they won't. But if they continue to avoid doing so, a less legitimate source will eventually step in.

But this isn't really a thread about which bricks we'd like to see back in production, it's about which entirely new elements we'd like to see.

As the OP said: "So, what brick do YOU wish existed?".

The 1x6 and 1x8 already exist in Sand Green. Sure, they're not produced, and they're expensive, but at least they do exist.
