Most Anticipated 2016 Set?

As new images and set titles are being released almost daily, anticipation is "building" for the next wave of Lego sets. One of the hottest buzzes is for the Nexo Knights, with two sets already with images (70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile and 70317 Fortex); but what are you looking forward to the most? Frozen? Dimensions? Or perhaps the latest modular building: 10251 Brick Bank?

Definitely the Brick Bank. The past two years I have been pretty much focusing on the modulars. At least until LEGO comes out with another great Space theme. I'm also curious about the LEGO Ideas Maze that suppose to come out next year. Interested to see how LEGO executes that set.

Dont think big ben is happening.

List that is going to take my back account
76052 Classic TV show Batcave (Direct Exclusive) reportedly $350 we will see in winter 2016
75827 Ghostbuster HQ $350 (this is half modular half NY building half famous ghostbuster building Quarter I'm definitely getting it)
    10251 Brick Bank $170

Big Ben is the bell. Elizabeth Tower is the actual structure. I wonder why Lego would release the architecture with the common name and not the official one...

But that's besides the point. I am most anticipating the Hoth set we never got to see yet.

Brick Bank for me as well. I'm also looking forward to the Creator Deli and some of the SW battle packs.

The ones that haven't been announced yet. They might be anything!

Although I'm certainly licking my lips over Brick Bank and GBHQ. Not sure I'll buy the GBHQ, but I really want to see its interior!

The elves line has some intriguing titles, looking forward to seeing those. Speed champions also look fun.

@CM4S What do you meant by 70140 Minifigures  D2C? 70140 is the number of a Chima set!

I'm most excited about the 1960s Batcave and the rumoured Disney collectible minifigures.

Retro Batcave sounds great, also looking forward to the possible UCS Hoth set, just hope its not the listed Hoth Attack set and we get a proper UCS playset like the Ewok Village.

I wouldn't have said that one of the hottest buzzes was for Nexo Knights around here.  The general consensus was 'not very impressed'.  Maybe you meant the annoying buzz like a mosquito makes when you are trying to fall asleep.
I'm excited about the batcave. And the Brick Bank will be a definite.  But I am most intrigued by the Ninjago Airjitsu temple grounds set.  If it can enhance #70751 from the already amazing set it is, then it will be a must buy from me.

I'm looking forward to the Nexo Knights sets because I can't wait to see the smile on my five year olds face. Also, this might be the theme I try to collect all of the minifigures from.
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,280

Most anticipated would be Big Ben as its not guaranteed to happen but there have been lots of hints, I like to collect things and at the moment my tower bridge is a one off set so it would be nice to have something to go with it.

The 66 Batcave is also one I am looking forward to seeing pictures for, like Big Ben my hope would be that it is big but the figures could also play a big part here.

Next up are the big Star Wars sets, we have the almost confirmed Hoth base and a less confirmed updated death star also two play sets seems like a lot. So D2C are what I am most looking forward to seeing.

As for themes it doesn't look like there are any new ones coming that I will be adding to my already oversized collection which might be a good thing.

Yes, I meant one of the most talked about; not necessarily positively. :)

Maybe Batcave, but nothing significant yet. It'll probably end up being the Disney CMF.

Forgot about the Disney CMF, so if that counts as a new line then that's the one new line that I might get.

I'm most looking forward to new Dimensions packs. I'm loving this game and the expansion system a lot more than I thought I would, and there's a lot of cool new IPs rumored to be revealed next year that we haven't seen in Lego form (and possibly the return of Harry Potter?).

Other than that, GBHQ and Brick Bank. I'm also eager to see if Doctor Who is expanded into a proper theme beyond the Ideas set at some point (I must have David Tennant and Rose Tyler minifigs!).
  • binaryeyebinaryeye Member Posts: 1,831
I was looking forward to Elves the most, but after reading descriptions of the sets and learning of the apparent focus on dragons, I'm a bit less excited. Even so, I'm still interested in #41174 Starlight Inn and #41176 Secret Marketplace.

So is $350 going to become a standard price point for D2C sets? Yikes. This must part of the plan to make a one story modular for $250 seem like a good deal in 2017.

It's hard for me to know what to look forward to until I've seen the sets in more detail. Obviously the themes I'm most excited for are the same as this year: Ninjago, Bionicle, and Elves. Nexo Knights is also trying very hard to muscle its way onto my wish list — the characters, story, and sets seem to have a lot of potential from what I've seen so far. But narrowing things down to a single SET I'm anticipating? That's much, much more difficult, especially with just titles and vague descriptions to go on for most of them!

Whoops, 71040. Some of the Dimensions packs next year are gonna be super exciting too. Need that Slimer!

I was most looking forward to #10251 Brick Bank and all the new Minecraft sets, although I'm a little apprehensive about what the Iron Golem set might contain - it has the potential to be a let-down, but I'm now also really interested to see what #70590 Airjitzu Temple Grounds is going to be. If it's good, it'll be a definite buy to go with my Temple.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,662
nothing has impressed me yet, but I hope ninjago won't have too many good sets. most of my recent purchases were ninjago...
  • tamamahmtamamahm Member Posts: 1,987
    Overall, there is not much.

I want to see the Airjitzu Temple Grounds, so that does have me currently the most excited. I'm not seeing any huge themes, that will draw my kids in.
The Elves I'm waiting to see.

I think at this point I'm most excited to hear any potential news for any sets related to Fantastic Beasts. It comes out next November, so I'm thinking any sets would need to be summer or early fall sets. I will be pretty disappointed if Lego has not gone after a license and have planned sets for it.

  • LostInTranslationLostInTranslation Member Posts: 5,572
@tamamahm when a Dimensions set list was leaked (before being removed) some of the set numbers were prefixed FB or HP so it seems there should be some Dimensions stuff at the least. It would be stupid not to have a regular range of sets too.
(But I've expressed myself on that point a lot before so I won't repeat it here :-) )
  • dougtsdougts Member Posts: 4,110
well, I have 18 sets in my 2016 Wanted List.  removing the ordinary run of the mill stuff, the only ones that are worth getting excited over are 10251 and 75098.

the new Fairground set will certainly be added to this list, and if some of the other rumors come true (Big Ben), then they would join it as well.

If there really is going to be a huge Hoth set, it is what I am most anticipating. I've never purchased anything over $100, but that would be the one to tempt me.

The alleged New Order Stormtrooper Battlepack sounds great, but im looking forward to the rumored UCS Sausage Factory more.

It looks like Lego will have another successful year at parting me from my money... Airjitsu Temple Grounds sounds like a must, there's an 'Ultimate IP Supercar' from Technic in the summer, GBHQ looks awesome.

    Expensive years are good years...

Where did the idea that the classic batcave will be $350 come from?
  • beabea Member Posts: 227
The usual suspects: whatever the creator expert set is for the year (bank) and a few of whatever the CMF line brings.

Haven't seen anything else that jumps out at me, including the Ghost Busters building although I hadn't heard of the Temple Grounds before. It may be interesting.
