Hi all,

Whilst browsing on eBay this morning I came across this auction for the lovely Holiday Train set.  When I clicked on the details I discovered it is being sold to raise funds for St Oswald's Hospice near Newcastle.

This is a hospice that means something to me as a friend and colleague, Jon Carr, was cared for there in 2008 before he sadly passed away, aged just 32. The charity continues to be supported by my company and the proceeds of our Fairy Friday sale were put towards a Fairy Bricks donation of Lego there.

I have no hidden agenda here. I am just posting the link to the sale as I want to ensure they get a lot of interest in the item of this very cool set and raise as much money as possible.

Obviously it may not be 100% complete but I think the pics show the set built so there can't be too much missing. It does also come with a box which I know is important to some of you :-)

I hope some of you are interested in this and place a bid. I wish I had the money to bid myself but I really hope it goes well beyond my price range!

It has instructions too.  Starting price is just £99.95 +£4.99 postage. Cheapest on BrickLink is ~£280!!

They are also selling a sealed #7661 Star Wars Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive booster ring and used specimens of #4757 Hogwarts castle, #10159 City Airport,  #3569 Sports Soccer (football) Stadium,  #4954 Creator Model Town House and #8672 Ferrari finish line.

Some really good stuff there, with boxes and manuals, at low starting prices.  Let's bump them all up and help this charity out!

I would consider buying it because my mum loves the Christmas train (we like building Lego together :3) but I'm packing up my collection to move house at the moment so I can't really buy any more LEGO  for the time being ):

Around 36 hours to go on the Holiday Train, and less than 12 hours to go on the other sets!
Some prices have gone up,  but there is still room for improvement.  Holiday is still half the price of BrickLink's cheapest and it's the only one on eBay in the UK!
    Higher, higher!

Well all the other auctions have raised a total of about £350 for St Oswald's and the Holiday Train is now at £180 with 2 hours to go!
Still looking to bump it up a bit further!

    Sold for £255!!!
Well done and thank you to all those who bid and of course the lucky winner!

I think St Oswald's Hospice will be so chuffed to get over £600 for all the Lego auctions.

Congrats, I was the under bidder on that and a couple of the others, well at least I raised the bids.

I'd love to know if a Bricksetter won the Holiday Train!
