I also got an email for this. It states it is on "regular-priced" sets, although it shows some sets that are currently on sale.

it is live now, really its so odd how the sale says it will start tomorrow but it is on now? whatever, the pet shop is oos but a good deal seems to be the cargo train red, although can you add 2?
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
Yes, you can add 2 of the red cargo. Anyone know the new $15 off coupon code? I usually get it from Toys N Bricks, but their forum appears messed up right now.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
Found it via google. Use code TONSOFFUN to get $15 off $100+ orders. Just ordered 2 red cargo trains for $96 each after tax.

@sidersdd Thanks, I just did the same, got to use my $10 giftcard to boot. Hopefully I can offload one of these in the future... offset the one I keep!

If anyone is interested in getting the Red Cargo Train with me please send me a message or reply on this thread. I am in the Portland, Oregon area. Total will be $90 for one. I have shop runner so shipping will be fast and hopefully the sets will arrive in good condition. Let me know...thanks.

    Wow, what a deal...

Got two Lego Technic Race Trucks, normally $59.99 each, added World Racers Motocycles for $10.99, had $5 in rewards, used $15 off $100 order, total with tax and free shipping was $87, plus I will get back $8 in rewards.

Not bad for $140 (with tax) worth of stuff.

Normally I don't buy Lego at TRU, but these deals make it worth it. :)

Oh, by the way... Current "specials," including the Toybook ARE able to be combined, even though the BOGO50% off offer says that is not the case.

It is possible that this is something TRU will fix tomorrow, so I'd order tonight if you are planning on ordering.

A good combo is the Forrest Police Station and City Harbor, the former offered at retail and the latter at ~11% below retail. Total will come to $104.98. Total savings is close to 40% off retail.

I got 2 Red Cargo Trains in my cart and was ready to checkout, then I was distracted by some domestic chore. When I returned, they were all sold out. :( I will probably stop by my local TRU B&M tomorrow to see if they still have them. Does anyone know if the Red Cargo Trains are priced at $129.99 in physical stores too?
  • kylejohnson11kylejohnson11 Member Posts: 508
@Dato, they were marked as $129.99 in the Portland, OR stores.

Do they ever go beyond BOGO50?

    BOGO60? BOGO75?
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
I've never seen BOGO for more than 50% off the second set.

Have they ever? Who knows. :)

Of course, they probably sell plenty this way, so why give away the store? If they did BOGO outright, they could move a ton of sets... For awhile, until it became "normal".

I think BOGO50 is now normal, I've seen this multiple times this year, I wouldn't buy from TRU without it now. It is just to let the rest of us who know better buy from them, while everyone else pays too much.

Yes, it is on sale in stores for that price through Wednesday 11/23.

Others are reporting that TRU fixed their site, and now you can't get BOGO on sale-priced sets. By me, the Red Cargo Train was on sale in store for $119.99 over the weekend, and they had plenty in stock. I assume that is the same sale price still in effect. But I don't think they will pair it with BOGO in store, just as they stopped doing it online.

They occasionally do Buy 2, Get 1 Free .. which is better than BOGO50.

BOGO50 equates to a max savings of 25%, while B2G1 equates to a max savings of 33.33% assuming in both cases you get equally-priced sets.

They haven't done a B2G1 sale since September, so we may be due before Christmas. Who knows.

Also, with the 10% Christmas Rewards, the BOGO50 sale gets really close to the B2G1 prices

Last time TRU had a BOGO 50% I tried to get a set that was on sale as part of the BOGO and it wouldn't work. The cashier said they only allow one "promotion" at a time. Its kind of dirty since they had signs up saying "ALL construction sets buy 1 get one half off excluding Ninjago." The sign should have also stated that sets already marked down from their original price were also excluded.

  • BTHodgemanBTHodgeman Member Posts: 622
@kor - I had the same experience during "Bricktober." The cashier was able to mark the item up to full price, THEN take half off... which was still a decent savings, so I agreed to that.

As long as you're buying items that are priced at MSRP, this is still a decent deal, especially when paired with the $15 off $100 online coupon, and the 10% rewards.

CRUD... When I was checking their site last night the 3677 was not listed as a BOGO at 11:30PM (CDT), whereas other sets were BOGO...
That kinda stinks, but I did get two BOGO for that 'sael' price of 130 before, but did not have the 15 buck coupon....

Well, I've already maxed out my rewards until Christmas, and I can't justify buying more sets just becasue they're on sale (my Lego holiday shopping is done except for possible Legoland merchandise). I know there's always the risk of another executive helicopter/limo set slipping through my fingers like alst year, but I can't justify the extra expense anymore.

If they had the Friends or superhero sets, I'd surely recant what I just said...
