Yet Another AFOL... ;-)

Hi,

Like many people here, I played with LEGO as a child, but grew up and discovered other pursuits. However, now that I have twin five year old daughters, who have discovered the delights of building mad towers of bricks, I've sort-of caught the bug that a lot of people on here seem to have!
It all started when we all went to visit my parents last Christmas and she had dug out all my brother's and my old toys, which included a large selection of LEGO, so I idly started putting together some of the old sets, so that my daughters and their cousins could play with them.
I found myself at 2am digging through a huge pile of LEGO, trying to find the last couple of pieces to put back together my old #6970, #6821, #6801 and a load of even older LEGO. After all that, I ended up bringing it home and I have been replacing missing pieces from, and adding to, my classic LEGO Space collection since then and now have all the following proudly displayed in my study:
885 Space Scooter
886 Space Buggy
889 Radar Truck
891 Two Seater Space Scooter
894 Mobile Ground Tracking Station
897 Mobile Rocket Launcher
918 One Man Space Ship
920 Rocket Launch Pad
928 Space Cruiser And Moonbase
6801 Moon Buggy
6821 Shovel Buggy
6822 Space Digger
6841 Mineral Detector
6970 Beta I Command Base

Only a few to go! :-)

The trouble is that I thought that would be the limit of my personal involvement, but I've managed to get interested in a couple of other themes, so now have all the Minecraft sets (I just love building landscape dioramas), about 10 The LEGO Movie ones (that all started with Benny's Spaceship, of course) and, finally, Ninjago, which I never liked previously, but fell in love with the Temple of Airjitsu and just had to get a couple of dragons (Master Wu and Titanium) and Enter The Serpent.
Oh, my daughters love Friends, Disney Princess and generally building strange, amorphous creations made up from all their sets jumbled into one, which is great!
So, there you have it in a nutshell. I'm in trouble! Thank heavens I haven't seriously looked at the Technic sets but, having said that, being a huge 24 Heures du Mans fan, I'm eyeing up the 24 Hour Race Car... And that Mobile Crane looks rather nice as well... Oh dear... ;-)

Anyway, well done, if you made it this far!

Regards,

JC
