@eggshen - I assume they want to hook new viewers or recapture previous ones ahead of the movie next year. And possibly the movie's delay from 2016 to 2017 had an effect on the sets for this year?

My guess? It's not SNOT at all! One of the March Elves sets seems to be introducing an INVERSE 1x2x2/3 "baby bow", so presumably this is that same piece!

I might just be being vague, but did no photos of Lloyd's Dragon show up after the toy fair? A wingtip looks like it appears in one of the photos so I believe it was there. What's going on?
Pics of it have been added here and here!

It's interesting to me that it and two other sets are branded as Skybound sets (with the Skybound Flag in the corner as opposed to the lantern icon used for the summer story arc).

Sadly I'm not sure if these sets really help me take any of the other Skybound sets off my wish list, besides possibly the Sky Shark.

Ronin's mech is awesome and I notice the patterns on its left leg include an Exo Force sky battle machine icon! I love these kinds of shout-outs. :)

The new Sonic Raider is awesome, although in the photos on the Promobricks Facebook page it looks like the flier is attached backwards! XD

Ronin's Mech reminds me of the Big Daddy from Bioshock. So many Zanes in this wave, and they look good. Not only do we get his hairpiece in Silver, but also in gold. I bet Zane stole his Tumbler from Hydra. I like how it looks. The rest of the wave's not that bad.

@brumey The usual answer, which applies here is: Do you want them now at that price, or are you willing to wait until they drop further? Yes / No
If you're in no hurry, wait.

Along with most people, I've been looking at the NYTF images coming out and I've been quite taken by the images of #70594 The Lighthouse Siege.
I'm not sure that it was shown at London or Nuremberg, but I might be just forgetting. Either way, it looks quite impressive and I'm definitely adding it my "possibly buy" list... ;-)

It's official, by the looks of it. The Samurai X Cave and the Airjitzu Temple Grounds are both store exclusives.

Either that or one of them goes into big spoiler territory, and Lego thought for once (with and action theme).

Hmm well that seems disappointing. But we shall see I guess. Mind you with only that many pieces it can't be to impressive.

Samurai X Cave Chaos, and The Black Knight Mech (Nexo Knights) are among others that have been changed out.

Somehow BZPower got the official names of the store exclusive sets while at the NY Toy Fair.

Presumably LEGO gives out a press guide at their preview event that has details like names, numbers and pricing for upcoming sets, including some that are not on display. That's what they did when I went to NYTF in 2012. There were some interesting prelim pics of some of the sets in that press guide too, though they were marked "confidential".

Of course, if LEGO does still give out a press guide like this, then it perplexes me that some LEGO news sites that attend the preview event don't manage to report on details like prices, piece counts, and release dates for individual sets. What BZPower Toy Fair reporting lacks in promptness and video coverage they make up for in their thorough reporting on these kinds of details.

The ones on YouTube are intended for Singapore, judging from the name of the playlist they're a part of, and it surprises me they're not region-locked. This isn't the first time LEGO has slipped up and made episodes intended for one region available for worldwide viewing, and in the past when this has happened it hasn't been for long, so I encourage you to watch them while you can.

The episodes will definitely continue airing on Cartoon Network, based on what we saw/heard at New York Toy Fair. Presumably the main reason they've been delayed for so long in the United States is because the sets' official launch date over here is March 1.

Ah. I thought the region locked ones were usually in a different language, but I guess that's not the case.

For anybody who's interested, the Ninjago season six premiere (episode 55 "Infamous") airs in the United States this Thursday at 7:30 Eastern time, after the two-part Nexo Knights season one finale.

Also, The Fold has released three new LEGO Ninjago songs tying in with the new season:

The Pirate Whip:

Yesterday we got new pics of a bunch of the summer Ninjago sets from Amazon.com. Still no finalized pics of the three store exclusive sets, though. The out-of-box pics have been added to the database but the box front and back pics also reveal some nice new details: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-ninjago-summer-2016-official-images/

The most pleasant surprise for me was the way the front wheel for the lower center module of #70595 can fold out when you separate the modules! So cool! Also, the blade of #70592 combines with a little sled inside the cockpit to become an escape pod/flier. The back part of the Rock Roader also doubles as a flier.

Daughter and I watching Ninjago via Netflix. The ninja have been turned into children. I'm posting because of the nice shirts Zane and Jay are wearing. Zane has a sweet #13 Jersey and Jay's rocking a blue butterfly shirt. I like these torsos especially Zane's. Wouldn't mind seeing some street clothes in a ninjago set. Good stuff, great show.

(Zane's sacrifice was really well executed for a children's show especially a Lego one.)

Yeah, I suppose at that price point I don't really have anything against it. It actually looks better than the bat-cave! Go figure ..

I think sets of high-tech cave hideouts are bound to end up looking at least a little bit similar (especially since the Samurai X Cave has been an obvious allusion to the Batcave since it first appeared in the show two years ago). I like this set better than the 60s Batcave but that's partly just due to liking Ninjago more than Batman. The designer of the Batcave probably also had to work with a lot more constraints due to it not being a LEGO-owned IP, making accuracy to the source material a much bigger concern.

In other news, Ninjago won a BMI Cable Television Music Award last night! This is the series' second award and third award nomination for its music, after a BMI TV music award in 2012 and an Annie Award nomination last year.

Holy cow, the samurai x cave is awesome. That brick built skull! No tatooine desert mock will be complete without that now. Hands down better than the 60s batcave.

For a ninjago set, the set is really well executed.. This set as a batcave however, wouldn't have been better than the batcave we've got.
I wonder how many of the batcave nay-sayers have actually seen the set built in person (for example in a LEGO store)... At first my feelings towards the batcave were identical to almost everyone's opinion here, but when I saw it built in my local LEGO store, it really impressed me. It's still a huge set and it actually looks amazing displayed... I get it, there are still issues with the set being not 'complete' but it DOES look like a cave.
Am I the only one here with this opinion?
Again, I'm not saying the samurai cave looks bad, but it's a ninjago set and it's hard to compare it to other themes imo

Cache.LEGO.com has been updated with 96 images of the new summer sets, including our first images of 70590 Airjitzu Battle Grounds! It's better than I could have ever hoped for! In addition to some nice scenery, it offers brand-new Airjitzu Lloyd and Airjitzu Nya minifigures go go with the Airjitzu Kai, Zane, Cole, and Jay minifigures from last year. In addition it includes two Airjitzu fliers, Technic-based launchers for ground battles, and more conventional air launchers which are tastefully integrated into the background scenery as columns. It also includes a Sensei Yang minifigure and two of his ghostly pupils It's the first arena-style set LEGO Ninjago has had since 2012, and in my opinion, perhaps the finest to date!

I have to say that after the stunning temple, the grounds leave me wanting pretty bad. The minifigs are awesome but the buildings are pretty pants from a display point of view. I guess I was hoping for a fountain and bridge or something. Ah well, I will content myself with the samurai cave.
• brumeybrumey Member Posts: 1,002
temple grounds is a let down! sad :(
its a playset. the opposite of an accompaining display set to go along with airjitsu temple!

samurai cave, lighthouse siege and loyd dragon FOR ME

Bear in mind that it was only a rumour that the set was called "Temple Grounds" and that started a lot of fairly unfounded speculation that it was going to be a companion set to the Temple of Airjitzu.

I agree on the Samurai-X Cave and Lighthouse Siege sets... They're definite buys for me as well.

I'm not sure about Lloyd's Dragon, as I seem to have accumulated 4 other ones already, Master Wu's Dragon, Titanium Dragon, Jay's Elemental Dragon, Morro's Ghost Dragon oh, and Kai and Cole's mini ones...
