^ That would be epic! Especially if just a simple reissue but switched colours so it matched the last one.

Although is Lego likely to go for a camo colour scheme? I know some of the Indiana Jones sets were very army-themed, but that was back in the days before outraged twitter mobs and cancel-culture.

I mean its probably just a model that Lego have explored and made for fun. But they have teased/leaked future sets before in their designer videos by mistake or not. (Marvel Hellicarrier)

Either way as an Owner of the Tumbler from 2014 I'd love this colour way with an updated Bane minifi, Another all black rehash with the same scale etc doesn't interest me. It would need a serious hidden play function (Batpod)

I agree it's most likely to be black but I'm surprised how the camo version is being dismissed so quickly. If lego are planing long term then does a camo one make sense. It will mean people who got the first will be much more likely to get this one. I'm not sure how much it will put people off that don't have the black one but it will add demand for a black one. So in a few years time lego can make a 3rd one.

This is what has happened with the minifigure version. First we got a black one in the old batman line. Then a camo in the dc line and now there is demand for a black one as its not been seen in a very long time and it looks like it could be coming this year too.

The demand for a small black one is more due to #40433 and now #76188 than anything else, imo. The camo one from #76001 isn't really that good in terms of size and detail, it's enough for play but not really a match to the batmobiles I mentioned before.
But since there are rumours for a UCS one and a smaller, #40433-scale one, I'm wondering if the latter will also be a GWP like they did for the 1989 Batmobile.

I guess it's hard enough to make in black, without having to reproduce the pattern of a camo. Though it may just be stickers.

I sincerely hope the small one isn't a GWP! The minifig scale Burtonmobile was amazing, and I'm so sorry I couldn't get it... I hope the Tumbler is black, retail and featuring Batman and Joker. That would be perfect.

The burtonmobile is pretty easy to bricklink. I did it that way as it prevented the dilemma of 'should I open this and tank its value?'.

Sorry, but we have enough Jokers already. The Tumbler should come with Scarecrow, Ra's or Bane. Why not all of them? :D

@Bumblepants I know, I've just never really gotten into the Bricklink game, although I absolutely should. The Burtonmobile is the best Batmobile they've ever made, and I need to have it.

@jnscoelho Generally speaking I agree with you, but I need a Heath Ledger Joker! Scarecrow is easy to make yourself, and Ra's and Bane are a bit boring, so it should be Joker. Could also be Gordon, but I've got the head from the 2013 version, so I'm good. Lucius Fox could be fun, though.

So... the minifig Tumbler is out in all it's glory, and it's everything I hoped for! (Except for Scarecrow who is very «meh»...) What do you think will be next in the Ultimate Batmobile Series? Could we have a retail, minifig scale Burtonmobile with figs? Perhaps based on Returns? I don't see them going for a Schumacher version (despite those movies being made solely to sell toys), so it's either Burton, DCEU, or The Batman (which is probably most likely). And what will the next UCS set be? I figure either '66 or DCEU. I also wonder whether you'll be able to buy The Tumbler in different colours down the road, for all you camo fans.

I would personally like one based off The Animated Series. LEGO DC Supervillains did an interesting level where we saw what minifigures from that show would look like.

I own the original 2014 Tumbler which I think looks better imo, this one is a pass for me.

However I would be interested to know if I can swap out the back wheels on the original with the more aggressive looking ones on the new model.

Anyone any idea of the part number for these wheels? Are they exclusive to the new Tumbler?

I think they debuted in the lime green technic tractor a couple years back.

Surely they would have to do the animated series next based on how popular it is. Batman cartoons still reference it today. 

I think they would have to stick with the films as those are going to be the big sellers. But in my heart I want them to start producing ones from the comic as there are some great sets they could do.

It's like beating a dead horse for me...I desperately would like the bigwig Solomon Grundy, Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist with baby sized Scarface...I'm sure I've ranted about others in the past.

What kills me is the existence of models I've seen in Lego movies as well as the video games.  I get they are going to do the most popular once but we did get Firefly, Deadshot, Red Hood a few years ago...

Yeah and with the text leaks for sets based off the upcoming movie we will just be getting another round of boring villains we have gotten 20 times already. I'm still really disappointed the second Lego Batman movie got cancelled as the first was a goldmine of obscure characters.

Lego DC is just consistently awful. There have been some shining highlights over the years, notably the Lego Batman Movie stuff, the CMF series, and Super Hero Girls. The constant regurgitation of Batman pap at the expense of DC's colourful multiverse has me skipping 90% of their releases. The last "must have" offering was the WW84 build, over a year ago.

Would be nice if a few suicide squad notables show up in next year's line up. I could see King Shark and Bloodsport doing well as extras alongside mainstream villains as they battle yet another bat vehicle.

I think they’ll save the Burton Batmobile for when the new Flash movie comes out next year.

Despite what I think about the films, I would love a Schumacher version just to get a nippled Batman figure. 😂

The problem is that DC sees Batman as their big attraction, followed by Superman and Wonder Woman. So almost everything is themed towards them as much as possible. To the detriment of a lot of their other characters, who remain undeveloped. This then means that everyone only recognises Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. So DC put more effort into them and around and around and around we go.

While I hold out hope that the movie itself will be decent, these sets just inspire nothing from me at all, even for Batman sets they just look so bland and monochromatic. The Technic version of the Batmobile does seem to be a little better than the minifig version, but yeah, just bland.

I'm excited to see the movie, but it clearly wasn't designed to sell toys! Which generally is a good thing. A stripped down, more realistic Batman is a very exciting prospect to me, and as LEGO fans, we can just buy other Batman stuff. I just bought the parts to the '89 minifigmobile, and hope for the minifig Tumbler for my birthday.

I decided to hold off buying these right away.  Wondering if there will be a promo for this timed around when the movie is out.  And plus, with the promos being specific to ranges more and more frequently these days, waiting would be another advantage.  However, if I heard the line was being discontinued, I'd obviously have to grab them asap.

Still think it's a bit odd that lego is doing sets for a rated R movie...

Has the movie even been rated yet? I find it highly unlikely that it'll be rated R if so.

I just bought and built the 1966 Batmobile and the Tumbler.  They're both good models that I've dreamed of having for about fifteen years.  They scale really well with the 8-wide Speed Champions standard, too (though of course not with any other size standard for Lego cars).  Of the two of them, I think the 1966 Batmobile is a bit less successful at translating the source material into Lego form.  The Tumbler is just about perfect.

^^my mistake.  Thought I had seen R somewhere, and perhaps I did months ago.  Seems like it will at least be PG-13.  Probably didn't do due diligence (again), as I only briefly investigated.

It was decided to re-release the LEGO Tumbler, and since I made the 2014 one, I was asked to do it again.  Initially it was supposed to be a simple reissue, but I was allowed to change some things that annoyed me for the past 7 years, but only if I would fit it in within a pretty tight schedule (since it was supposed to be a simple reissue, the timeplan wasn’t laid out like it would be for a kit this size). I started with the rear end, in the first version it was way to narrow, and the tractor tyres (which I already keep on getting messages about how they are wrong, but in my opinion look similar enough to boggers that are on the real thing) didn’t exist either, then I pinched the front end to bring the wheels closer together, which led to a complete redesign of the first third of the model, at this point I managed to add the gunners window in the middle, and some suspension details I didn’t even know existed when I was building the first one (thank you @jaylenosgarage for the crystal clear footage during the day).  The rest remained mostly untouched, except for swapping bricks for new versions (like 2x6 tiles instead of 2 times 1x6 tiles), or for more correct colors (like smoke windows), but then, I was quite happy with it in 2014, and I saw no reason to reinvent it from scratch.

1st October 2021 Release

The Tumbler was my very first MOC back in 2014 so having it as an official product means the world to me. Many of the solutions I came up with as a MOC are not at all suitable for production so I had to completely redesign the model. The design objective for the model is exactly the same as when I first started my MOC:

• It needs to fit 2 minifigures

• It has to be as accurate as possible

It's funny how upon scrutinizing my earlier model, what I used to think was an accurate representation suddenly no longer appear to be so. The front wheels were too small and the sides of the vehicle need to be angled towards the front. The main challenge for the model remained to be building 2 stable front wheels without a central axle. The new Speed Champion chassis provided the stability while allowing space for 2 minifigures and the new 2x6 angled plates helped to angle the side of the car.

The element I originally used for windscreens (part 6070) though looked great, only has 2 studs therefore did not provide the necessary clutch. The end result of 3 windscreens started as a joke from a casual discussion with Mike, imagine our surprise when they actually fit and turns out to be the solution. The wing element (part 61800) on the side of the car is one that I am most happy about, it is almost perfect in size and shape while provided a secure connection. It is extremely satisfying when the element fit perfectly behind the car spoiler used as the side mudguard. The rear of the car is perhaps the part that stayed closest to the original MOC. The end result is a vehicle that replicated the look of the movie design and also one you can play with, rather vigorously if I might add. And yes, it does come in black.

My heartfelt thanks to Jesper Nielsen, Maarten Simons and Mike Psiaki for their help and guidance. It was graphic designer Mark Tranter's idea to include the 2nd head for Batman (which is awesome!), and provided all the cool graphics.

Everything I have seen suggests this is going to be a very early Batman right at the start of his career. So it is nice that they have gone for more realistic villain's (as far as you can with Batman).

I have to admit that I'm really growing tired of Batman , Batman, Batman sets. I know it's DC's approach to promoting the character but we've had the Arrowverse on TV for years, Justice  League Action, Young Justice, Titans, Doom Patrol, Stargirl as well. I'm sure LEGO would do well if they diversified a bit more with the characters. Even Shazam had Batman in it! 

I had hoped the DC CMFs would lead to more but alas doesn't look like it. I won't be getting any of these new Batman - but then I haven't even managed the '89 Movie sets yet either.

Oh I would LOVE a LoSH set - with a few Space ships it would be perfect.
