A 60's batcave or Wayne Manor would be great. I was hoping for about 6 sets for Batman Vs Superman. Hopefully there will be a Suicide Squad set or 3 later in the year.

The 60's Batcave is the D2C Just2Good (who is in the know) has been talking about, cant wait.

Why are we focusing solely on DC?  I, along with Tesla, tend to prefer AC in most electrical applications.
DC is by far a superior current solution. What a shame that Edison played such a dirty game and won. And poor Tesla is confined to the relative sidelines of history :(

Disappointed if that list is the full releases as there's not a hint at a Justice League Set. My favourite two sets this year have been Brainiac and Darkseid - neither of which has Batman in them.
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,309
One of the racers is flash v captain cold but that is it for non-batman (everythings coming up batman). Doesn't mean they are all there or that we wont get more sets later in the year like we did this year with Jokerland.
  • DougTemplarDougTemplar Member Posts: 638
Fingers Cross it's Batman & Others then. I've got a list of Characters I'm waiting for.
Atom (not sure how you do Atom mind you), Firestorm, Dr Fate, Zatanna, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Vixen, Red Tornado and ALL of the Legion, the Outsiders...... This could take a while.

A classic TV Batcave would be cool if it came with the Batmobile. I'd be seriously tempted to buy that.

To add to the 1960s speculation, LEGO put this on facebook on Adam West's birthday ...

I'm not exactly sure what that means but at least I know it doesn't have anything to do with D2 convention held by Disney, which didn't make sense for a DC property. :)

(I looked up Disney's convention before posting this and apparently that's D23.)
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
It means not sold in regular stores / supermarkets, just [email protected] and lego store.

^ A D2C is a set that is not a retail set, it is only sold in Lego store although the number of other shops that sell these has grown over the years. I use to term for very large sets, Lego has made one each year from 2013 for super heroes and it looks like this year it will be a batcave based on the 1966 tv series. The other D2C we have seen for SH are:

10937 Batman: Arkham Asylum Breakout (which would be the closest to what this set might be)

    76023 The Tumbler

76042 SHIELD Helicarrier (Although Marvel it does seem that at the moment they do share a D2C spot, but with the line growing I don't think we could see one for each line)

Image result for lego batman comic con
They released this and I don't have the game but I believe there is an unlockable version of 60's Batman in one of them so there is a possibility  for LEGO to do something more.

Everyone's always talking about UCS Star Wars this-and-that, I think a UCS 60's Batmobile would be AWESOME and probably the only way to really show off all the details the original designer put into the real car.

@chuxtoybox - The 60s bonus level and characters on LEGO Batman 3 were one of the best parts of the game, great fun - and Adam West parodying himself is always very fun.

I'd love some 60s Batman stuff, but it would definitely require a new cowl piece to get the right look. Even the newer cowl piece with the shorter ears just doesn't have the right shape to my eye.

Anybody want to guess the price of 66 batcave

  • chuxtoyboxchuxtoybox Member Posts: 711
60's Batcave would have to have a feature where you slide Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson(?) down the Batpole and they appear at the bottom as Batman and Robin. :)

(Why do I have the feeling someone's going to find a sexual innuendo in this statement?)

60's Batman and Batcave would be great especially if it comes with 60's Batman villains.

Can LEGO please make the Daily Planet already?!?
It's weird, but Marvel LEGO has a lot of buildings. DC is mainly vehicles (one of the reasons I buy the sets and take the mini figures and trade away or give the rest of the set to my son). I want some DC buildings!!!
Titans Tower is an obvious choice aside from the Planet!

  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,229
My vote is for a Joker Lair, Batcave and Arkham Asylum.

    Oh wait!
  • MattPetersenMattPetersen Member Posts: 282
I guess I should learn to be more specific on the Internet to avoid snark, and say NON BATMAN buildings.
Notice when I said mainly vehicles? That would imply that there are SOME buildings but not that many and certainly not deviating from Batman.

Meanwhile I have a Daily Bugle, Avengers Tower, Hydra Fortress, Stark's House, a couple of science labs, and a construction site from Marvel.

My perception is that Marvel sets seems to have more variety in buildings, while it seems DC sets rely on Batman way to much (and in my opinion that's boring and stale). Which drives me nuts because I am a huge DC fan.

It's because batman sells well and kids most likely don't know who most of dc superheroes are.
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,679
yeah, daily planet isn't too obscure ;-)
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
Stick a Star Wars planet on top of Daily Bugle and you've got one. That's what it would probably look like if Lego did one.

60's Batcave with mustache Joker, Catwoman, the Riddler and Penguin. Not forgetting Alfred, aunt Harriet, Bruce, Dick then batman and robin obviously.

Titans Tower would NOT be obscure at all what with a cartoon on the air.

I also don't think Daily Planet would be obscure (especially with the movies, and cartoon references even in the Lego DC movies).

Kids know who DC heroes are. They've seen Brave and the Bold, Young Justice, Green Lantern, Etc.

I'll agree that there are obscure heroes in both universes that would only make sense to place with more well known characters.

  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,229
Snark is unavoidable.  I think that's part of the definition of the internet.

I'm starting to think there are no DC buildings.  Does Hawkman have a house?  It's probably a one-bedroom apartment.

Bunks at the Justice League HQ wouldn't make a good set.

Aside from the Daily Bugle, everyone must live in their cars, jets and submarines.

I agree with this. It is sort of surprising even though I never thought about it before. I think the Daily Planet is more iconic than the Daily Bugle, especially with the big globe on top. Put in Lois Lane, Perry White, Jimmy Olsen and a helicopter with pilot and you have a substantial playset that obviously reflects the storyline in the first movie but still could be current today.

A MOD of that would be cooler than a MOD of Ghostbusters HQ, and you'd be able to tell what it was even without any minifigures.

The only other thing I can think of right now is a Fortress of Solitude. Did they do that already? I'm too lazy right now to look it up.

Then there's the old-school Legion of Doom building in the Superfriends cartoons. Half joking on this. :)

I was thinking about what you said here and you're probably right. They'd probably use a two- halved  ball for the globe than a brick built one like I'm picturing.

To counter the Legion of Doom we would also need a Hall of Justice.

  • MattPetersenMattPetersen Member Posts: 282

I would also like to see more DC buildings like the Daily Planet. In my mind, I see it--chuxtoybox seemed to be getting at the idea--as a modular set with lovely architecture.

Also, with the popularity of The Flash on TV, I think that a S.T.A.R. Labs playset could be very cool. Particle accelerator, computer room, etc. It would create a very attractive bridge between superheroes and science.

I revived this old thread to ask a pretty basic question; have any of the past Batmobile models that have been released, either collector series or minifigure scale, been able to seat more than one figure, or are they only made for Batman/one driver?  I'm pretty sure no, with the exception of that exclusive mini-set from the old tv show I believe...

Ah excellent, thanks. I didn't realize that Tumbler seated two.  I forget that set existed kind of, as it was an earlier generation Tumbler.
  • monkyby87monkyby87 Member Posts: 316
One last thing, 7888 is the only mini-figure scale Tumbler, correct?  I know there is the collector's series one, and the generic army one from the Bat-Wing set.  But it seems this is the only Batman one.
