The new one looks much more elongated and slimmer along the middle section, with only 4 big central flank guns on top, not 6. Movie accurate..
Doesn't look like it comes on a stand with a UCS plaque.
Also mentions that if someone from France or Sweden wins, then they need to pay the tax on the prize.. ouch! And probably why there is a value against each prize..
What are the May 4th incentives/offers?
If they're dire, I'm sure I can wait for Smyths to stock and have a 20% off weekend.
Or maybe their kid sister Nancy!?!?!?!?
Or Michael B. Jordan, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa can appear as Lando's half-Skywalker triplets. That way just about everyone on the planet can be equally confused.
I'm a pretty firm SW apologist, but these movies would sit better with me if they were just clever remakes of the original three films. After all, these are popcorn, money-making event movies, not Criterion arthouse films.
I might have wept at a Force-ghost Ewan McGregor saying... 'Rey, you are my daughter.'
Nien Nunb is my co-pilot!
And good luck to @samiam391 in his pursuit of those prize items.
As a General Star Wars discussion, while news and views about the upcoming sets from LEGO will no doubt be discussed/loved/hated/ripped apart (delete as applicable). Even on a good day, due to the vast diversity in the level of Star Wars fandom, there will always be some variance of opinion concerning the films that will overflow into the discussion.
From OT purists hating anything PT or ST (whether it be the films themselves to the sets released from them) to Star Wars junkies that will lap up almost anything related to the George Lucas inspired universe (although I draw the line at Star Wars underpants these days), it's virtually impossible to not bring the films into the discussion.
What starts out as a rather pleasant comparison of a set against the source material will almost always take a turn at some point to someone not liking it, which will inevitably end up as a discussion about the pros/cons of the particular subject matter it came from.
It's just a discussion from different opinions and shouldn't be discouraged as everyone has a right to voice theirs (even if they are wrong). ;)
I'm not sure why you'd draw the line there. There are great boxers: https://www.lazyone.com/products/beware-of-the-force-mens-funny-boxer-53/
The only way they can rescue this film series is if Rey is the offspring of Palpatine, Kenobi and Skywalker. That would make her special enough to satisfy me.
I also hate the title. We already had a trilogy where Skywalker rose from farm boy to defeating the Emperor/Vader/Empire. If it's talking about Luke rising, then that's just stupid and a spoiler and too soon as he only just died. If it's referring to Rey, then that's also a spoiler.
But who knows - maybe it'll be great. I just wish they were all as good as Rogue One. That movie made me realise that I didn't like Episode 7 as much as I was trying to convince myself. And it even had plenty of diversity without feeling like it was being shoved down our throats (unlike the virtue-signalling-fest that is Episode 8).
In what way is it ironic?
@jnscoelho - If I recall correctly, Rogue One was pretty well received by fans, and in my opinion it's one of the very best Star Wars films, just behind Empire Strikes Back.
It was well written and slotted in nicely between Episodes 3-4; Episode 7 was very much a pop-corn movie in the sense that it just re-hashed previous material, and although I did enjoy parts of Episode 8, it was too disjointed - the 'codebreaker' sub-plot for example.
I'm not sure of the irony, I must have missed that?
Just opinions :)
Rogue One was the only Star Wars movie (the only movie in general, actually) during which I fell asleep while watching it in a cinema. No, I didn't like it and I totally disagree with it being one of the best - for me, it's the second worst, with the worst one being Solo. But, again, opinions.
The fans love it because of Vader (a Vader which is totally overkill for what should be just prior to A New Hope) and because they were angry about TFA. That's why Rogue One was a pinnacle of fan service.
edit: yes, I’ll embrace the friendly discussion of the movies that others seem to want! ;)
The only thing I'll add is I am really hoping for some awesome Clone Wars sets to come out for season 6 :)
BTW, the crabbing and fanboying about SW is supposed to happen in the Off-Topic. We don't want to sully non-spoiler LEGO discussion.
And I just noticed that TIE fighter-thingy in the trailer is looks a bit like Major Vonreg's TIE Fighter/Interceptor.
And there is no way that Episodes 1 and 2 can ever be unseated as the worst SW movies. Those movies can be distilled down to 13 minutes of revelant material. And even those scenes are only relevant to Obi-Wan. Oof. The Force explained as a microscopic parasidic blood disease is the worst ever. Just the worst. And nevermind the not-so-subtle misplaced messiah plotline. -Head explodes-
Uuuuunnnnnnnlimited powaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!
So, in extending the off topic chat due to a lack of anything more brick based (like the freebies for May 4th) to talk about...
Your ranking of the SW movies best to worst?
Mine: 5, 4, RO, 6, 3, S, 7, 1, 2, 8
