I am trying to work out if the Jawa are the same as the ones in Sandcrawler, looks like they are, one of each.

OK! This is why I think the main page and the forum need to somehow get more integrated.
What is  being discussed here (and rightfully so) is also being discussed there:
    http://brickset.com/article/17530/Images-of-2016-Star-Wars-sets-and-minifigs

Btw. I love all these sets. Both the Ep.VII TFA battle packs, and those SW Battlefront sets look really nice. I only wish TLG would have included regular SW blasters for the minifigs as well.
I like the variation in TFA stormtrooper outfits. Though I do hope that TLG won't include these FO crewmembers with those clumsy giant black helmets in every set. Having bought all current seven TFA SW sets, I now already have three of these guys. I noticed that when putting those figs with these giant space-ball helmets in my Kylo Renn's Command shuttle and/or FO transporter, they take up too much space which can cause the canopy not to close properly or they will not remain seated as they should, or their helmets will not stay on. When using them as pilot for the FO-Tr. you have to modify the sliding cockpit 'console' and have that fig sit as opposed to stand, otherwise he won't fit. As the 'pop-up' gunner on board the FO-Tr. the helmet also has the tendency to get caught on the hatch when withdrawing inside the ship.  Also I like the stormtroopers and officers and crew wearing these (fabric) hats better than those black helmets.

The only set I am not sure about is #75137 because if you plan on buying #75060 then this set does not add much with respect to the minifigs except for the Ugnaught.

Too bad no sandtroopers are included in #75136 , other then that it is a nice set. I hope we will soon also see a new small set that includes a bunch of sandtroopers, and some Tusken Raiders too.

I wonder if the Han Solo in #75138 is a different one, than the one that came in the polybag? This set will be a nice addition to my 2014 AT-AT and snowspeeder set.

That's funny, the only set I'm sure about is the #75136....a lil something for everyone, I guess
  • chuxtoyboxchuxtoybox Member Posts: 711
Well, I'm definitely going to buy 75137 so I'll have a Boba Fett. 75134 looks cool just because I like that trooper with the red graphics. Other than that nothing really entices me but I'm not hardcore LEGO SW.

It would be nice to see a smaller set with Vader. Maybe they'll make another carbon freezing chamber with Luke and Vader that could attach to this one?

It does seem strange that they didn't include Lando. He belongs in this scene more than the Ugnaught.

If you know this chick's name off the top of your head you're a bigger SW fan than I'll ever be or was.
I believe that it is Lumiya or something close to that.

Once, a long time ago, I was a very big SW fan. (Still am, just not as up on all the info.)

I was looking forward to the Droid Escape until I saw it. Way too many liberties taken with the pod itself. It's pretty bad imo. #9490 was a much better representation.

    But those battle packs!!!!

For what it is worth #5001621 remains a unique minifig. Han Solo included in set #75138 is not identical. The minifig from the polybag has a double face print. I don't know but I assume this might also be the case with the figure from #75138. However the face-print without the snow-goggles and scarf covering his mouth which is visible is not the same. The polybag has the expression of disgust from when Han cut open the Tauntaun's gut and all it's intestines come flubbering out. Apart from that, and the fact that the polybag includes his hairpiece too, the fig from the Hoth set is the same as far as I can tell.
I wonder how that bodes for the value of this particular polybag in new sealed condition?! Is it still a valuable item for the polybag collectors?
  • playwellplaywell Member Posts: 2,309
^ If that's the case I think it is poor, they could have changed the print a bit. I think Lego need to keep there polybags and D2C figures excusive, if they are at the time they come out.
  • TheBigLegoskiTheBigLegoski Member Posts: 1,437
^ My attitude is so ambivalent in this regard. Yes exclusive polybags are cool, and nice IF you are able to get hold of them as a freebie or buy them for a reasonable price. When you are not able to obtain one, as just described, or can't afford to pay the sometimes ridiculously inflated aftermarket prices, then it can be really aggravating.
I agree with you that it would have been nice if they would have changed the print somewhat of Han's torso and legs etc. then it is still the same figure, but not exactly, so the polybag version may be viewed as more exclusive, even though this is very subjective. As far as I could tell some printing and the elements included still make it absolutely unique set, but not exclusive in the sense of 'one of a kind'.

In other cases, such as e.g. with TC-4  #5002122,  a minifig that I very much would like to have, it is really annoying that this fig is not being put into a set. Of course if TLG modifies the print somewhat, and it still looks good and right or even better than the polybag version, I don't mind it at all. The exclusivity factor is very much tied up with the idea of resale value. I am no reseller so to me affordability and availability are what counts.

The Series 3 Microfighters #75128 Tie Advanced Prototype looks quite similar to the Series 1 #75031 Tie Interceptor...

    Also from the brick fan:

"I have some more details about the set from a very reliable source. The set is actually called the Assault on Hoth (75098) and it will be a Ultimate Collector Series set. Pretty much everything that was shown in the mini movie will be in the set minus the AT-ATs."

OK! so the set number is #75098 and the price in dollars is $249,99

So some turrets, blast doors, wompa cave and a system scale snowspeeder, I'm struggling to add it all up to $250 let alone call it "Ultimate Collectors Series" seems more appropriate as a playset and not much else.

Not a lot we haven't seen before in other sets. Looks like we'll have to wait until May 4th for a proper UCS set.

Not sure if it was mentioned yet, but I would love a Kamino playset.

    ^
A Kamino playset could be so totally kick ass!!!
Image a whole series of revolving batteries with clone embryos printed on or encased in transparent light blue one stud cylindrical bricks. It would also be a good opportunity to release a new Jango Fett & Boba kid minifig in a set. And Kaminoans are a quite intriguing race too, though I am not sure how best to turn them into minifigs. Maybe the Kaminoans should, besides having specially moulded heads, have minidoll bodies?! Or is merely suggesting this already considered sacrilege!? It is just that they are so lanky and tall.
Would extra long Woody legs work?

Btw. this makes me think of a hilarious Southpark episode too, where Cartman is trying to sell a surplus of aborted foetuses for stem-cell research. If only Lego would do a Southpark theme.
    Also tricycles!
Just as SW unrelated, but minifig tricycles would be very comical.
  • ModulaRModulaR Member Posts: 39
I may be spacing something, but there has not been a single Kamino set ever, has there?
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^That is correct, we are still lacking a Kaminoan minifig. But if there were to be a Kamino set, I'm guessing it would mainly be Obi-wan vs Jango with possible Boba as child and a Kaminoan or two. And because of how hard the location would be to represent, I'm leaning towards it needing to be a Slave-1 Rehash for it to be a possibility.

Given the track record, I would be beyond shocked if there were an Episode III UCS set.

You wouldn't want a UCS ARC Starfighter?
    Or even THIS bad boy?!

Which one do you mean: the Republic Attack Cruiser, or the separatist flagship 'The Invisible Hand'?
I like the Republic Attack Cruiser best of the two.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
We already have a small amount (4/23) of PT sets in UCS form with the Jedi Starfighter, Naboo Starfighter, Grievous figure and Darth Maul bust.

And I would definitely be excited to get UCS versions of the Republic Cruiser, Republic Gunship, ETA-1, Turbotank, ARC Fighter, Anakin's Speederbike. But the cherry on top you might ask? A Jar Jar bust with tongue out and thumbs up! :)

Ah, forgot about the Grievous and Maul, but in terms of vehicles - the Jedi Starfighter and Naboo Fighter are the least popular and didn't sell well.

Although, they are running out if OT vehicles.  (Which is why I'm concerned they are going to playsets as UCS sets...)

^ I would not like to think that the UCS sets are now only going to be just large play based sets. For me, the appeal of the older UCS sets is that they are AFOL orientated to just be big display pieces that challenge with the build experience.
  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,229
^ I wholeheartedly agree, but they are running out of vehicles!

But I wouldn't mind a new Snowspeeder, or something from the new films and spin-offs.  (Except the pumpkin X-wing.  I could do without that.)
  • bandit778bandit778 Member Posts: 2,383
^ Although it won't happen, it would be quite nice if they released UCS versions under the "Legends" banner as there was some really good vehicles that would have made good UCS ships from the old EU.
  • Lego_Nerd98Lego_Nerd98 Member Posts: 235
SO.....there is a theory going around that Jar-Jar Binks is Kylo Ren's boss.....

The theory goes that the last we heard from Jar-Jar (apart from an Episode 3 funeral scene cameo), he proposed emergency powers be given to Chancellor Palpatine, thus gaining favor with the future emperor. But after that, he mysteriously disappears....

Some wonder if he also was gifted with force powers, since he magically survives several sticky situations during the Battle of Naboo. If this were true, then this theory would make much more sense. Since he gained Palpatine's favor, Palpatine devoted time to refining his natural force abilities in the effort to eventually turn him to the dark side to become a Sith.

They say that George Lucas planned this. If so, I think it would be just to redeem this idiotic character. What do you guys think?

This fan theory started out as a joke (which actually had JarJar as Kylo Ren) the idea being that the forest you see Kylo in in the first trailer is endor and the shot of Vader's half burnt remains was what he was looking for - his old friend Anakin.

I imagine that the "This was planned by Lucas" is a shot at how much crap Lucas started shoe horning in.

I don't really like how ridiculous fan theories now often get passed around as 'news' on some lazy website, so my reaction to them is always negative

Hopefully, some of those ship designs will be re-purposed as the new continuity develops, putting them back in play for possible sets down the road.

They do still have all of the big Rebel ships other than the Blockade Runner. And Cloud City, which could be treated like a ship for the purpose of a UCS build. Fans would eat that up.

I've heard talk of January and Summer 2016 release dates. Are there fixed release dates for LSW each year? If so, when are they?

Regarding the Jar-Jar theory, have a read of http://darthsanddroids.net/archive.html .
Jar-Jar as a brilliant general riding a dinosaur-pony makes so much more sense when you realise it's the creation of an eight-year old girl

So I don't know if this is right but 75144 Snowspeeder is labelled UCS on the brickset database as is 75159 The Death Star and 75098 Assault on Hoth.

3 D2C in one year is a lot but I guess the death star is just replacing the death star so that could be the reason.

^ Although the tag is wrong as it doesn't take you to the other UCS sets. I am not sure how many people can change these tags and if it might be someone just responding to the rumors on the other hand it might mean that we are getting 3 D2C for star wars this year.

Won't be a shocker , it's the year of Star Wars starting the month . Makes more sense to push SW down the consumers more than it has past 8 years .... And I'm not complaining !

1- Very very excited for the snow speeder well the Death Star .,. my imagination is running wild oh boy oh boy oh boy !!! Can't wait for details ..and so glad I did not purchase an extra copy of the existing ...it's time for the Bigger better stronger DS , and I'm confident that's just what this will be.

2- Lego is simply relentless this year. I mean just how many big sets can one purchase

3- I think some of the resellers will be needing  DS box sized hugs very soon .. Yes this will affect the after market, no doubt there.

A rerelease of the death star isn't likely to adversely affect the current one. It will almost guaranteed to be more expensive than the current one and smaller, or less expensive but definitely smaller. Just a thought.

I would personally wish for a Death Star II. While it would be a re release, it would be more appreciated then a sphere of a Death Star I.

I don't really care about the loss in value as much as a wasted opportunity by repeating something we already have if it is close in similarity.
