Images of the new #75204 Sandspeeder have surfaced in the usual places...

Basically a re-coloured T-47, plus a moisture vaporator.  At £30 I could be tempted, but looking at the recent pricing structure of the latest wave it will be an easy pass at £40!

Anybody here got the phasma brickhead yet? If so could they post a pic/pm me a pic of the pages constructing the helmet, want to ensure I've the parts to convert finn to full stormtrooper before ordering them. Thanks

Oooh wow, or uhmm rather; ay! I dunno if it is all that wow, I just had a look on the infamous web where such images surface first.
It is a differently modified T-47 in sand colours with some extra dorsal winglets. The set contains two minifigs, both wearing the famous X-wing type helmets (one has a dark red helmet, the other a white one). They are clad in grey pilot zero-G suits. The box states that the set contains 278 pieces.
When I read your comment my first thought was: 'what, another TESB snowspeeder?!'
This set does not look all that bad, but a speeder destroying a H2O vaporator? Not too exiting.  #75049 came with 3 minifigs, and contains a Imperial snowtrooper equipped with a E-Web heavy repeating blaster canon tripod. this new unreleased set seems to contain only two figures. I don't see how those winglets are an improvement to speeders that were nimble enough in TESB dealing with AT-AT's? Ooh well... I probably still want it.

But it doesn’t end there. As all the 300 posters are now sold, something else popped up on their website yesterday.
Apparently the gallery kept back the 15 artist proofs that Greg has done, and Greg has added 3 Remarque (Darth, Boba Fett, and Yoda) to these, and currently there is 12 still available (1 is currently over the Atlantic to go alongside my other).. They are more $ but for a fan of Star Wars this might be a very good chance to own an original first run 1977 Star Wars movie poster 20”x28” in mint condition, signed by the original artist.

    Below is the image of the limited 15 artist proof;

As as I mentioned at the start it might not be something everyone is interested in, but for me this is a great chance to own something that you cannot find everyday...
Not sure i'd want an Ep IV poster with 2 characters sketched on it which don't even appear in that specific movie.

^ Agree with that, but it’s more to do with an genuine original first run iconic version B movie poster, in mint condition. Signed by the original artist.. and having the chance to buy it direct from the artist, and not via an auction site at a massive mark up..

It’s a nice thing to have.

I was going to comment on this and from what I can gather the set is depicting the Battle of Jakkut (that was a huge brawl between the Empire and the NW as depicted in the Afthermath Empire End novel) and it makes sense as the Empire did had AT-AT there. It is sad that the only thing it comes with is the evaporator and the speeder itself unless that vaporator was powering an Empire installation (though its still poor value when they could include Imperial figures

The question is, will the new trilogy continue the saga or not?

An Old Republic era trilogy would be awesome.

This article seems to have more details:

“While details are scarce, the new trilogy will be separate from the classic Skywalker saga, and instead will focus on “new characters from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored.”

Star Wars is getting an all-new trilogy from Rian Johnson - The Verge https://apple.news/AOXQ5HPSpS3KLjbZF19NO1Q

Now, I’m more happy with that! Didn’t really want another re telling of the original story for a new generation.

We'll see. For a galaxy far, far away the Star Wars universe feels quite small. Everyone's related and/or bumps into others regularly, often requiring convoluted retconning.

One of the things that made The Old Republic era great was that is was still Star Wars but with separate characters and stories. Characters that could still be memorable - HK-47 and Darth Revan are some of the best SW characters ever.

^ Who? ;-> Seriously, I'm sure they are great characters, but the majority of the movie-going public like things being familiar. Get too far off the beaten path and people will think "Is this really Star Wars?" Gotta have the TIE craft, lightsabers, Darth Whatever, desert planets, some alphabetically shaped craft and maybe a lovable rogue with a blaster. If the Old Republic has that then I'm sure it'll do well.

I have a bad feeling about this.
Right now it's Star Wars overload. All it will take for one movie to bomb and that could do some real damage to the franchise going forward. This is why I don't like the movie every year thing.
I hope I'm wrong and the new trilogy and movies are amazing but if Disney keeps rushing out content then a disaster at the box office is odds on to happen.

Star Wars is becoming the Star Trek movie franchise. Too much (mediocre?) product and it loses what made it special in the first place.

That's exactly what Knights of the Old Republic has. The storyline could also be considered of of the best set in the SW universe, despite being a game.

^ Exactly what I was about to say. Lots of Jedi and Sith (and lightsabre/force-wielding) action, but set before any of the current saga characters were born - so no 'small galaxy syndrome'.
  • xwingpilotxwingpilot Member Posts: 799
^ Having said that there were lots of familiar looking ships, armour and droids so not much changed in thousands of years!

lol, yeah, that seems as frequent as randomly bumping into someone you know from your city if not even more.
and is it just me, or each planet doesn't feel like more than just a city or a small area? like let's say they go get something on a planet but have no idea where it is, they'll still manage to land no further than a few kms away. maybe that's the force guiding them.

What do you think of 75190? Today it is (again) discounted to 50% at ToysRus. Right after release it was down to 100 EUR instead of 150 EUR. Now it is 80 EUR. What´s so bad about this set that they think it won´t get sold for the original price?
  • HanzoHanzo Member Posts: 607
If I could grab it for half price in the US I absolutely would.  The only thing I don't like about it is the stationary turrets.

Are the Porgs a spoiler? Is it to do with their presence on Ahch-To or something I've missed? I thought they were just added comic relief as this film is probably going to be the 'darker' act of the three.
  • MaffyDMaffyD Member Posts: 3,527
^ Anything and everything could be a spoiler. My guess is that Disney anticipated that when the new trailer dropped, some people would go nuts for the porgs ("Awww! How cute!") and that to have the Lego versions appearing first could spoil that reaction.
They were not wrong about that reaction...

It's been like that for years. Some of the unbelievable (non-lego) crap that came out with the prequels was quite astounding.

Details of #75200 - Ahch-To Island Training have been listed on the Smyths website:

I'm reassured that it does include a Porg perch, I was getting worried....!

Buildable hut has a removable roof section for easy access to the interior, foldaway bed and small kitchen, plus a fabric doorway, perch for the Porg, a small bonfire build and a training function with opening boulder
    •Kitchenware elements also included
•Weapons include Luke's staff and Rey's Lightsaber and training stick
    •Product Piece Count: 241 pieces
    •Hut Assembled Dimensions: 17L x 11W x H cm
•Contents: Luke Skywalker and Rey mini figures plus a Porg figure

The RRP of £25 doesn't seem too bad.

This set appeared on this year's late late toy show tonight here in ireland.  The presenter broke it when lifting it but great to see a closeup and release date confirmed for December 15th - films release in some countries.

Just read that the Darth Vader pod promo has been cancelled. There's a link on the Brickset page. Mentions there will be 10% off on all SW sets except the #75192. That discount doesn't apply to US and Canada. There will be a different promo at that time. Wonder what it will be.
  • FowlerBricksFowlerBricks Member Posts: 1,731

    Jk
But I do think it will be a leftover from a previous promo...either themail may 4th from this year or last.

Just got back myself, and don't recall seeing it either, Could be the #75100 of the film where you blink and miss it.
Really enjoyed the film though and can't wait to see where they go with the series.
