I'm with you there, especially with these Last Jedi sets. All quite a bit more expensive than I would have ever guessed. I went from buying most of them day one, to just two and then wait for sales on the rest.
Mind you waiting for sales is something I should do more often anyway!
Battlepack with 2x Phase 2 Clone troopers, mace windu, coleman Trebor
Yoda's hut with Yoda/Luke/r2-d2
Grievous speeder with Clone wars grievous and Mace windu
Buildable figures-Darth vader (with removable helmet), Darth Maul, Boba fett
Small pack with Jawas, droids and tusken
Microfighters-MF, first order tie
It's something that only people into a geek culture would understand.
Is it possible that we may get yet ANOTHER falcon in next year's Han Solo wave?
Anyone getting into the hobby or coming of age to enjoy LEGO, and is a SW fan is going to want a Millennium Falcon.
I agree. #7965 is basically what brought me back to Lego several years ago. It looks amazing, and is a wonderful conversation piece/starter.
I think the blue livery (if it turns out to be correct) is just about creating a point of difference, and isn't that how it appeared in that oh-so-tiny-blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in ROTS?
I'd have preferred to see it with more of the red markings, perhaps a Falcon design to make sense of how it appears in the OT... I can really see Lando having a customized paint job done!
The set has almost immediately gone to 20% off on Amazon and stayed there. I look at it everyday and all I can help but think is that there is basically nothing at all appealing about that set. It is just complete garbage from a design standpoint.
Pause at 00:07 sec. and check the difference in size between the AT-AT's and those FO Heavy Assault Walkers, as they walk side by side. The front legs of those FO walkers look so awkward. Anyway, it is still pretty cool to see an entire armada of walkers on the move. Kylo Ren's shuttle flies overhead at 00:07 sec.
I love Ren's Tie Fighter, it looks really sleek and menacing. Those rebel/resistance bombers; you only catch a glimpse of them, but it seems Lego did a great job on those two spaceships.
Also Chewie has a pet chihuahua penguin, what more can you wish for?
That day at work is gonna drag soooo much.
Not all the shop displays are the same. Leicester Sq, for example, has theirs sitting flat.
I was referring to something along the lines of this.
Preferably with slightly less excess free space surrounding the build and possibly with a brick built stand instead of what's holding it up in the picture but I like the idea.
Standing it upright will take up less of a footprint and with the right background I think it could look quite good.

Brothers Hildebrandt were famous for the 1977 original Star Wars poster (even though some say it’s version 2 as they took the original design and modified it). Greg Hildebrandt is the surviving brother, and he has a gallery in the US spiderwebart.com, recently the gallery started to sell 1977 original Star Wars first run movie posters, a batch of 300. And as Greg was the original artist he has added a Remarque of Darth Vader, and signed the poster. Read the description below from their website:
Then for NYCC 2017 there was a pre order special, and you could have a limited edition 2nd Remarque of Chewbacca. (apparently 44 out of the 300 have the 2nd Remarque of Chewbacca) and it does look great, I have one hanging on my wall.
See below the image of these:
Now go go on eBay and see what people are asking for these...
But it doesn’t end there. As all the 300 posters are now sold, something else popped up on their website yesterday.
Apparently the gallery kept back the 15 artist proofs that Greg has done, and Greg has added 3 Remarque (Darth, Boba Fett, and Yoda) to these, and currently there is 12 still available (1 is currently over the Atlantic to go alongside my other).. They are more $ but for a fan of Star Wars this might be a very good chance to own an original first run 1977 Star Wars movie poster 20”x28” in mint condition, signed by the original artist.
Below is the image of the limited 15 artist proof;
As as I mentioned at the start it might not be something everyone is interested in, but for me this is a great chance to own something that you cannot find everyday...
