And on the French site it had GB in the name too.

^ A webpage, that could have been a product idea that was cancelled. For all we know, someone accidentally clicked the wrong box & instead of deleting the page, made it active. With the current addition to the rumour of a Stay-Puft brick-built figure, I'm filing this in the circular file until I see something official from TLG, because it's sounding more & more, like someone's dream set & less like an actual TLG planned set...

Yes, although it is still a rumour with some factual backing as opposed to "I heard it from someone who overheard it from a store assistant."

It *would* be odd if it didn't come with the main 4 Ghostbusters minifigs, though I'd guess they would have to be exclusives, as per the Simpsons House vs the CMFs.

Arm printing (and the new hair) would be a way of making them different to the Ecto-1 minifigs.
I thought arm printing actually! Would be nice, seeing as NACM have sold out.

Would LEGO assign a set number and make a database entry on their shop site for something that was still an idea? My guess is no.

Also, keep in mind we just saw official photos of several sets (e.g. Creator) that were initially discovered using the same method.

The info on LEGO's website was nothing but the set number and name. If someone has since rumored it will include Mr. Stay-Puft, I don't see how that affects the validity of the original rumor.

^ you mean the rumour that was corroborated by Lego.com having a URL link that stated '75827 Firehouse Headquarters'? A URL that has since been removed, unsurprisingly.

If that URL was there, I believe it 100%.
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
It was there. Indeed, Huw thought it newsworthy enough for a front-page article.

Just needs a Walter Peck, a Mersk blue hat for a Con Ed engineer to turn off the containment grid and a police officer and it'll be ready for a ghost escape!

Looks like TRU either already changed the weight to a more reasonable 4 lbs, or you read it wrong :)
    Good find either way!
  • roxioroxio Member Posts: 1,384
^Might be a typo but it's still showing under Additional Information as 14lb product weight
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,710
Judging by the dimensions listed in the description the Firehouse it will be on a 32x32 baseplate (25.5x25.5cm) as well as a 16x32 baseplate (12.25x25.5.)
  • HangedSanchezHangedSanchez Member Posts: 310
For comparison, that's an inch narrower but 4 inches deeper than a modular. About an inch shorter than the Grand Emporium.
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
^^48x32 studs is the same as the Swiss Ghostbusters design. And the dimensions are similar too... height: 38cm - length: 33,6cm - width: 17,5cm

Odd... But under Additional Info, I'm still getting 4 lbs, and not 14 lbs!

$400?! I bet there's not even a place to park the car...

That might be a problem. If it doesn't include Ecto-1, will they care if it doesn't fit? It is a completely different set after all.

What's the Zombie driver going to be driving if not the Ecto-1?
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,559
    A taxi?

The taxi cab, maybe?  It isn't explicitly listed as being included, but that was a memorable funny stinger of a scene, and Lego does love taxis, nearly as much as helicopters.

I want a Vigo poster on the wall, or maybe a dancing toaster.  Sorry, I watched GB2 again this weekend.

    Sounds like this is real!

Between this and the rerelease of the winter toy shop it looks like TLG is not afraid to repurpose and retool old sets and ideas.

A great jab at resellers me thinks!
  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,246
    Did someone say helicopter?!?

And by the way, I don't think an actual helicopter appeared in either one of the Ghostbusters films.  (My guess is that it was too expensive...)

    Also... zombie cab driver!

^^ Unless I missed something, I'm pretty sure there wasn't a $349.99 GBHQ set previously released.

But... I did lose my car keys this morning.  So it is possible...

Hello I tweeted TRU Canada this morning asking when it will be available to buy and they have responded.

"We can't give you information for this as yet. Please check back in two weeks. Thanks"

So possible The Lego Group will announce this in the next coming weeks?

  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 1,016
Or you could check back and they will give you another generic response with another 2 week timeframe.

It was said on EB that it didn't have Ecto-1 ages ago. So this isn't surprising, but I'd suspect there is a lot more than that little description. This isn't wowing me as it stands, although I will wait until pictures..
  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
@SumoLego I had that Ecto-2. Come to think of it, it's probably in my dad's attic somewhere with the firehouse and Ecto-1. And a really, REALLY old jar of slime.

No carcinogens in that slime... perfectly safe for kids...
  • YodaliciousYodalicious Member Posts: 1,366
^ There was a play feature with the firehouse where you would pour the slime into the top and it would flow through to the bottom floor and "slime" one of the Ghostbusters. The big problem was that if you didn't clean it off almost immediately it would harden and get very weird very quick. Let's just say a 10-year-old isn't going to clean it off immediately.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ And things are always "weird" when you slime someone without cleaning it off.

Or we might not even get a baseplate. Lego doesn't seem very generous with those nowadays. Look at the Haunted House, Simpsons House, and Kwik-E-Mart. And the GB Headquarters probably swings open like those do.

I do not want it to swing open I want it to come off like modulars. And it better be on a baseplate
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
1 out of 2 aint bad hey?

From the dimensions its clearly on a baseplate (well 2) and I expect it will swing open (which in my experience is far better for play than the modular system).
  • bluedragonbluedragon Member Posts: 506
My kids kids also prefer buildings that swing open. It is better play wise when you can see the whole interior as opposed to one level.
  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,246
It will be interesting to see how much playability they bake into this set.

I would imagine this would be closer to the Helicarrier or the landmark Creator sets, but given the scale this is clearly geared toward the modular market.

Maybe the Airjitsu Temple is most similar?  Some play features, but really a static display piece...
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
My guess is full on dolls house. The Swiss ghostbusters v2 moc is sugnificantly more pieces but there's a lot of 2x2s and 1x1s that can be swapped by TLG for bigger parts to pull it closer. Lego don't seem to like fully tiled floors either so save more there and you're in the ballpark.
