Wanted: 30140 Alien Conquest Walker

Hi,

I'm looking for two or three Alien Conquest Walkers. I have the rest of the theme and want to close it out.

I have some of the recent polybags... Ninjago Glider, Atlantis Diver, Toy Story soldiers, City helicopter. I also have an extra Atlantis Deep Sea Diver and Ramses Pyramid game (with large tan plate). I will add set numbers when I get home tonight.

Will consider adding cash to deal or even buying outright if price is reasonable. Prefer U.S. trader but will consider other.

Loads of people are after this, the only confirmed availability was 10,000 given away by the Sun Newspaper as a Facebook competition. However, I don't know anyone that won one (anyone??) and there aren't any for sale on Bricklink, ebay or Amazon. I don't rate your chances of getting hold of this poly at this time and think we will need to be patient as it may not become available until next year now.

I entered the competition, and I also sent away for poly's I couldn't pick up instore.
So far I've heard nothing. :(

I can't believe 10,000 vanished in thin air, without any active AFOL getting one... surely?

I'm guessing this one re-surfaces when new AC sets appear next year.

@JessyDooDah I phoned the Sun to ask about why I hadn't had the sets I posted coupons for, and the girl said that they probably wouldn't get sent out until right near the end of the 28 days (which is working days). Even so, they still should have sent out emails to tell we've won a walker....

I have just emailed The Sun customer services dept asking if/when we are likely to hear back about the competition and poly's we sent away for.
I'll let you know if I hear anything :)

@sidersdd - do you know something we don't regarding AC coming back in 2012? The last speculation I heard was that it was a one-and-done, but I would be thrilled if that was wrong.

Also, I just checked, and there are none for sale on Bricklink - nor have any ever sold - there isn't even an inventory listing. So it looks like they haven't really hit the streets in any quantity yet...

Do you think the sun didn't actually have the set prior to setting up the comp and now trying to keep things quiet on the comp winning front?

I thought AC was going to be discontinued or is that just a rumor? I really like AC so I hope not. I was going to buy some extra sets for parts to expand on the theme. Not sure if I should now.

Looks like I won too....Just being a little cautious but can we be sure that this isn't a fake 'get your details' type site who then spam you? Has anyone heard of aspen house marketing - are they are genuine company?

Yep, you only win one. I certainly wouldn't want to trade mine as I'm a big polybag collector. Don't worry though, I'm sure this little fella will turn up in abundance somewhere within the next 6 months.

Yeah, I was really hoping to see either of the AC polybags at Target for either Halloween or Christmas, but no luck. I've got one jetpack but wouldn't mind some more and I definitely want one of those walkers.

Just a bump. I'm still looking for a couple of these but will certainly settle for one to finish out my Alien Conquest collection. I have Target gift card sets for trade. If you are outside the U.S., maybe I can pick up something that you can't get where you are. Let me know if we can work something out.

^ Not yet anyway. There's still some hope that if there truly is a wave 2 of AC that they'll have these polys available this side of the big pond.

I've been looking for the ADU Walker to fill out my AC collection too.

Plus I hope there's AC 2012 ... Brickipedia has it on their "discontinued" list for 2012 again ... it's at least the 3rd time we've seen it on the list since late 2011, and it never hangs out long, disappearing for days or weeks until some"one or thing" posts it under discontinued again. FWIW there is hope until absolute word of AC discontinuation from the horse.

I check the polybags in Target's checkout aisles every chance I get, which means if I'm there, I check them, every aisle. Never any AC, but I keep checking.

I'll be picking up some duplicate AC sets. I think I like AC enough to create my own stuff. especially the ADU stuff. The UFO Abduction and Mothership are a bit hokey and I'm not sure I'd be able to mod anthing there with all of those odd shaped pieces. I also need to build up my armies for both sides. I'd buy the battle packs but it bugs me that there is a civilian in there. If they discount them, I'll pick up several.
