Beautiful. But we have gotten two protocol droid polybags already. He looks great and I have to have at least two.

Oh no! Lego is re-releasing another Chrome C3po. First the winter theme now this! jk.

The only bad thing would be this is a TRU promo. You know how consistent distribution will be....

(I think it's just the lighting - my guess is that his arm is consistent with the rest of his torso.)

More important, chrome hand or not?  Looks as shiny as the arm.  I thought Lego had ruled out production of chrome hands due to quality and wear issues.

^Black Chrome Vader had matching chrome hands. Haven't heard any issues with that or seen it on mine.

Toys R Us currently has a hold (do not sell before) date of 11/1 for a Lego Star Wars Episode 7 C3PO poly.

@ChanMcL Aside from the awesome looking c3po that article talked about the Lego employee figure. For the 2014 sales retail year the Lego Company sent out the lego store employee minifigure. It was something additional they gave us. It hands down is my favorite figure in my collection. As you can see it is my profile picture.

Not sure if you were being sarcastic, but guess what? It likely IS a TRU promo (at least in the US), time for the countdown. I was really hoping to not have to stalk my local TRUs in Oct for polys, but apparently I will. Same with the Hulk polybag that is due out. sometime soon.
  • sstoroesstoroe Member Posts: 156
hulk?  Any pictures of that one?

Hopefully this polyabg will make its way to the UK because I really want it! It would be interesting to find out why C-3PO has a red arm.

How does TRU typically advertise their polybag promotions?  I don't get their ads in the paper- are they regularly available online?
  • SumoLegoSumoLego New YorkMember Posts: 15,013
I think it's traditionally an in-store mustercluck with no rhyme or reason.

There is already an olive green Hulk minifig from one of the bootleggers so I reckon that'll be the one popping up in the polybag

So you're thinking it will be just like the previous one but olive green instead?

I'd be surprised if they did a non-bigfig Hulk.  Definitely a Bruce Banner, but not a Hulk.

They have done one before so I would be surprised if they every put a big figure in a poly bag.

They haven't produced a 'regular' minifig Hulk since the polybag/keychain.  Likely based on the popularity of the bigfig.

But I suppose we shall see...

Hulk just makes more sense as a big fig. I just wish they would do some other characters that could be big figs.

^ Goblin King, Cave Troll, Darkseid, Green Goblin, etc., etc. There are a few now, but a few more wouldn't hurt. I'd love a bigfig Venom as he's quite a bit bigger than Spidey typically. There's a knockoff floating around, but if it ain't official, it ain't for me. (Although I do like the color variety of Iron Man suits!!! A man can dream of them coming in true LEGO form one day.)

I cannot stand the big figs.  Then mess up my display cases.  Just my two cents.  They are called Minifigures for a reason.  :)

^  I like things in scale.  The first version of the Hulk minifig is awful.

But I hear you on the having to modify display shelves.  I'm expecting a bigfig Thanos in a couple of years, and that's going to completely upset my Avengers display case.

And don't get me started on the Groot figure.  I hate that thing.
  • YodaliciousYodalicious DagobahMember Posts: 1,366

I like them because like @SumoLego said, I like the scale. Hulk is not a small guy. I get it though if you like to display them a certain way that it can completely throw things off.

I completely agree with Groot though. There was no reason for him to be that way. He wasn't that much bigger than them in the movie. A bigfig would have been fine. Maybe the thinking was the bigfigs were too wide to represent him.

I think they just used the Treebeard idea from the Orthanc set.

I have to say the knock-off semi-bigfig of Groot is the only figure better than the Lego version.
  • thedoctor46thedoctor46 UKMember Posts: 213
Lets be fair minifigs/bigfigs, they're designed to be played with not displayed and in my opinion the scale of the bigfigs look better.

They have done others besides Hulk. What I meant was that I wish a few that could get the treatment would get the treatment. I'm sure it will happen eventually, but I think we have like 3 different big fig Hulks at this point. Just being impatient :p

Apparently. These are given out when you spend over $1200HKD (about £100) in Hong Kong ToysRUS. And some people off loading them at $300HKD

Do they have the same armpit shadow problem as previous chromed minifigures. I'm wondering as the red arm is probably added after chroming.

The packaging is deceptive because the real figure is as matte as any other C3PO

Unless that is a fake. Dun dun dun! No but really that is pretty deceptive picture on poly bag.
