Lego big cats hard

It is easy for me to build a lion, alligator, or crocodile.

But if I am to make a lego zoo I would also need other big cats like cheetahs and leopards. To get the spots and everything I would need lots and lots of 1x1s. I don't have lots of 1x1s.

There is another problem, stability. If it is all 1x1s in even 1 part of it, it isn't going to be very stable.

So how can I counteract these problems?

Seems like a good solution for spots, to me, is to use the headlight bricks and the little round tiles on top. For stripes, I'd use plates. For stability, I'd just monkey around and vary part usage. It also seems like just like the rest of us who want to build something but don't have the parts, you've got some shopping to do!

Lol just realized I got awkwardly wrong due to auto correct on phone. Hahah ironic.

I was kinda into "awkwardlying", to be honest. Before 8 am, most things are "awkwardlying".

Depending on the scale you want, take a look at #30285 or #70123 for inspiration and structural guidance. Or try looking up the animals on the Lego Universe wiki, http://legouniverse.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Animal

^Maybe should be moved to the "Making Lego" thread; it would "fit" right in.

At least it isn't a camel, its hard making a Lego beast with two backs! Plates would allow detail and nice colour variation, but obviously not round. All depends on scale though
