Best $90 dollars I ever spent.
Car boots tend to be my favourite place for hunting out a good bargain. Sometimes you'll find nothing, sometimes you'll find people charging ridiculous prices, but other times, you'll find a gem. My best three this year;
- A 700K Wooden box set, minus some original parts, but for only £20.
- #3843 Ramses Pyramid complete and boxed for £2.50
- #8106 Aero Booster, still sealed (box had one dent) for £5.
The only problem is that it can also be terribly frustrating. Saw a guy pick up a #355 Town Centre set, boxed and seemingly complete, in excellent condition, for £20. Got there just a few seconds too late.
^Not bad.
Mine is 50% off Sith Fury Class Interceptor. I hardly buy bulk lego so I guess I miss some awesome deals.
Found on a TRU shelf well after retirement. Scanned at $0.03; manager said it was an error and the price was just an inventory placeholder but she sold it to me anyway. Literally bought it with a nickel and got change ($0.02).
My second best find was 6 modular buildings listed for $200 for them all. I offered $600 and got ther in half an hour. I beat another guy by just 5 minutes. I was loading them in the car when he arrived.

MadforLEGO, Dedgecko,
Sorry I didn't see the brag thread until after I saw your comments. I'm new here
I did look at the brag thread just now and it appears to be aimed at recent finds. My thread was intended for past scored deals/best finds but I can see how it can be seen as the same thing.
Mods please feel free to move my thread if necessary. Sorry for the inconvenience!
last time I checked it wasn't hard to get battle of alamut way under rrp.
my best find isn't all that impressive, seeing how low the prices for this set can be, but it would be 45€ (including 15 for shipping) for portal of atlantis, one of the best price per pieces I paid so far, and still my favourite set.
I asked the couple why they didn't want it anymore. Apparently the guy worked for Lego (or maybe it was a video game team) and they used to give him sets for free.

As it turned out, all the sets were very nearly complete. Still cannot believe my luck there, that has to go on the list of All-Time Greatest Finds.
I think @brownbricks720 is a lego store employee
Also got a #5571 Giant Truck at TRU for $19.95 way too long ago. (Best birthday money ever spent.)
And purchased a half dozen UCS Batmobiles at $17.99 on clearance at TRU.
Wow, I feel old.
A while back I saw an ad on Gumtree for a job lot of Lego priced at £175. I was interested in it mainly to get the City sets which were partly built, which is all one really could see in the photos. After the ad had been up for a 3 weeks I asked if the lady would accept £80 as it had not sold. She agreed and last weekend I poped round to pick it up. When sorting through I saw a parts for sets from the late 90s and early 00s, not something I would bother building. Did not think much of it, until I came across a large number of this brick: "Wall Element 4X4X6, Round". I also found a lot of an unusal round dark red brick. Never seem those before and could not find any info on Brickset.
Anyway I had plans of building the city sets and selling the rest as a job lot. This morning I found out where the bricks belonged, and it was to #10019.
