Look at that and determine it for yourself based off whether it is New or Used.

I'm more than happy to help with most problems... but this is something that you can really find out on your own with just a little research on the internet.

Sorry, I looked on Amazon.com and saw that it was $118 there. I found the set at a rural Walmart on clearance.  But I wasn't sure if it was a good deal because of amazon's inflated prices on some items.

Use bricklink. It gives the best average price.

Do the Bricklink sold prices include the Bricklink percentage, the Paypal percentage, the shipping cost, and any other stray additional mark-ups a seller might have added. I would assume not.

I got it misb for 85€ including shipping on bricklink last year. prices have probably gone up since then. It's probably a good deal, it's a big set (like 60cm long, 30 cm high), and boats this big are hard to find under 100€ from what I saw.

Thanks to everyone who has given me advice.  I looked on bricklink, it seems that the average sold price for this month is about $113.  But the average price for it new in box is about $143.

they include the BL fee only, as that is taken as a percentage of the selling price.  Shipping, plus any seller add on costs (which should be banned IMHO) are not included

I always consider eBay sold prices before anywhere else. IMO Bricklink is not as accurate for sold sets as not everyone knows about BL whereas everyone knows about eBay.

also note that the minifigs are worth more than half of those 74$ . there are 4 exclusives ones in this set, and I know the ghosts have a bit of value.

I think I will get the set.  I looked at the price tag and it has been the same price for over a year.  I'm going to talk to the people who are in charge of the toy section to see if I can get a better price, since it has been sitting there for so long.  The only cost beside the set would be the fuel cost for my car which would be about $6.  Besides I really like the set itself.

But that everyone knows eBay is a bad thing on the other hand: there are more cheaters and buyers who are not lego experts and might pay too much for a set. Btw @Bricklover18 enjoy the build :)

I talked to the manager and ended up getting the set for $55 + tax.  The box is a little damaged though, but still not a bad deal.

Thanks @TarDomo, it looks like it will be a great build.

I bought that set when it came out for the figures. I don't regret that, but I have never built the set. It is still sitting in the box. I have expected to try to sell it without the figures OR just part it out into my inventory for pieces later...

I hope you enjoy the build. That was definitely a good price.
