Lock S-foils in attack position...
A few weeks ago my wife and I took our daughter to LEGOLAND Windsor. My daughter already has quite a few LEGO Friends sets, and I loved LEGO as a kid (although I've been in my dark ages since). In addition to LEGO, my other childhood obsession was Star Wars, but of course back then there was no tie-up between the two.
Anyway, the end result of going to the LEGO Star Wars exhibition at LEGOLAND was that my daughter wasn't the only one to come away from the shop with some LEGO :)
LEGO has come a long way since the Classic Space sets I used to build, and I love the detailing on the latest minifigures.
Of course 75032 isn't the only X-Wing that LEGO produce...
I've absolutely no idea how this happened (that may not be entirely true), but a rather large package arrived last week from Billund ;)
Now all I need to do is find the time to build it (and find somewhere to display it)!
I'm not sure I'll have room for any more UCS sets, but I'm already having ideas about getting some of the other OT microfighters sets (75074 and 75075) and displaying them on stands after I've built 10240.
I'll post some more photos once my LEGO Star Wars collection's grown a bit.

@CapnRex101 It's a shame LEGO didn't produce a printed canopy for #10240. I probably won't have time to build it for a few weeks yet, but I'll be taking extreme care...
Enjoy building the red 5! I held it in my hands the last time I went to Lego and have been eyeing it for a while but since space is limited I'll just go for the not UCS-versions and modulars. Although, I do have the Slave I (which I am saving as a special treat for myself!
I haven't built the new UCS X-Wing because of the stickers. (And I've got a dust-magnet original in storage.)
I'm displaying the older Sopwith Camel, Red Baron and Wright Brothers Flyer - all of the stickers have peeled off numerous times. It's frustrating!
Well I did. Fortunately Lego supply two sets of stickers, and I made such a bad job of applying the first one, and it took so long to clean the canopy up afterwards, that I just thought I'd leave it plain. It looks fine that way, IMO.
Enjoy the build!
I remember building the original #7191 UCS X-Wing years ago; after working with smaller sets it's a different build process to maneuver those big heavy wings in place to get the open/close mechanism to work just right...I think I finally broke it back down after a couple of years chasing the #7181 UCS TIE around the shelving unit. I haven't built Red 5 yet, I'm waiting for a new storage space to avail itself.
(Check out Seth MacFarlane's "Family Guy: Blue Harvest" spoof for the full listing of "standing by" references...)
As the other thread is closed I've re-posted UCS X-wing thread here: http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/21004/displaying-the-ucs-x-wing (hopefully without referencing any memes in the title this time :#).
