Yes, I seemed to have overlooked that fact.  It's not much of a Zombie apocalypse without a variety of Zombies...

Why the sudden lego obsession with zombies? Seems a slightly lazy way to rehash existing figures... zombie skateboarder, zombie pirate, zombie businessman, zombie cheerleader... zombie spartan next?

Cultural thing - Zombies are still selling very well (Walking Dead etc still popular) and the typical easy halloween thing at the minute is a Zombie costume. Give it another couple of years and there will be something else occupying that groups interests.

I am all for making more Lego zombies. Some of us missed out on the earlier ones and don't want to pay the exorbitant prices they are currently going for. Having four different zombies available at a time hardly seems like overkill if you want to start collecting a hoard.

Even I'm not a CMF collector I have to admit the idea is quite good. Someone would say they ruined the skateboarder though.

zombies...does this mean there's going to be a Walking Dead or Game of Thrones tie-in in the future?

lets face it, zombies, vampires and things that go Bo0 are all going to be cyclic. And with how many adaptations they can make it's hardly surprising. Add in how popular Zombie walks are and the current TV presence...

The minifigure is nice and all....but what's in the book?
  • tecjamtecjam Member Posts: 255
It's a nice and informative book. Very similar to the 'Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated and Expanded' in that it gives various details of minifigs such as year released, sets included, CMF series, first '**whatever**' (eg: printed legs) and a rarity scale amongst other things.

What I did find it disappointing though is that it doesn't really give you an early history of minifigs, no fabuland or old fingerfigs or mentions as far as I could find anyway.

I would have at least expected this in the intro for it to explain how the current minifigs evolved and came to be. That would be my only gripe.

There was a little thing in it about only including mini figures in the most specific definition - one of the examples of non mini figures it gave were bigfigs, can't remember what the others were.

On page 6 they define what they mean by a true minifigure, so fabuland and fingerfigs (and the homemaker style figs) don't meet that definition. There is a section at the back with not-a-minifigure, where the briefly discuss droids, minidolls, bigfigs etc. They could have added fabuland and the other figures in there.

Thanks you two, I must have missed that bit.
I'll have another look when I get home after work.
