New 2016 Frozen sets in the Brickset database?

just2goodjust2good Member Posts: 247
These were pointed out to be recently put in the database:

http://brickset.com/sets/41066-1/Anna-Kristoff-s-Sleigh-Adventure
http://brickset.com/sets/41068-1/Arendelle-Castle-Celebration

Pretty sure they're 2016 sets, but does anyone have any information on where these set names came from? Thanks!

Pretty sure that any stuff like that that just appears in the database without any discussion or images showing up first is from info that gets pulled from LEGO's servers somewhere along the lines.

I would be much happier if not for mini-dolls. Seriously those things aren't Lego IMO. They are like the girl equivalent to those old Jack Stone figures. These sets should have come out earlier, I feel the new appeal for youngsters is more of Minions and Frozen still a bit for girls.

Lego did not get the Minions license; either Best Lock or Megablocks (can't remember, I don't make room in my brain for clone brands...) has these toys in stores right now.

Can we just end these types of comments already ?  We've had this conversation about 317 times already over the past four years. There is no new ground to cover here, so can't we just all agree to move on instead of turning every thread about a minidoll theme into a debate about minidolls in general?
I don't keep up with any threads associated with mini-dolls. This is the first I have made such comment and excuse me for just throwing my opinion out there. And I guess we could stop.

Yeah MegaBlocks has the liscense but I feel since it's Minions kids would be drawn to it whether or not it is Lego and thus being the big thing right now. I just feel Frozen had its time and is now on the lesser end of the scale popularity wise.

Sorry if I came off a bit harsh.  Sometimes I just assume most everyone reads most all threads like I do and that you were dredging up an old debate knowing full well it had been hashed over multiple times

It reAlly does not matter that Frozen is not quite as huge anymore. The reality is that it will be part of the Princess line, and there are plenty of princesses in that line that are far, far, far older than Frozen. These new sets will sell just fine.

I do think Minions would have had a great cross-appeal, but for whatever reason Lego did not get the license, or they lost the license to another... Who knows. I do know that the lack of the license did cause me to buy outside of Lego for the first time. That really has nothing to do with Frozen, though, since they probably still had rights to make more items in the Princess line, as opposed to needing to get a brand new license.

Minidolls... I think the only thing that matters is the sales. They are successful, and They had reasonable research that showed they needed to change the minifig to attract sales.

Hmm. That would be a must buy for me to have a Sven reindeer to add to my winter sets.

As old as Frozen is, I'm sure there is still a market for it. With that said, they are making a sequel I think and they just did that Frozen Fever thing, so they are trying to keep it fresh in people's minds. But no matter the source material, if the sets are done right, I'll be buying them.

As far as Minions, just imagine a full scale version like the Spongebob they did?

Also, just imagine how much another company possibly had to give up to get that license, especially if LEGO was in the negotiation room also.

    Isn't there a Frozen 2 due in 2016?

Our winter set follows the updated winter story that has several abominable snow creatures, Gingerbread people, a polar bear, Huskies, and a soon to be Sven.

They did. Its a TRU exclusive. I want the instructions to see if all the parts are available as Lego as it's a really nice set for Mega Blok.

Frozen sequel is 2018, I think.

But that's a wildly popular theme and will be a high-volume set.

I've got two of those Ice Castles in my house.

Mega Bloks did. I know because I bought their constructible 15-inch minion :-P

^Can you please share the instructions for the Build-A-Minion? I searched but can't find them online.

It's complicated but I won't have it with me until either October or December. Sorry.

Frozen 2? I'd rather live on Mars.
