Nice Parts Usage! Week 2: Where Are My Paaaaaaaaants?

Good morning, and welcome to Nice Parts Usage!, the new game in the forum. In this game, I will pick out a brick and you will come up with clever new ways to use it or show ways you have used it before. Unfortunately, I cannot provide prizes at this time, but you may donate a polybag or something to the winner. You will have all week to submit entries and I will choose the winner next Sunday and start the next episode.

Ah, the age-old question: Where are my pants? Well, Pants Guy, they're right here this week on Nice Parts Usage! I chose this part in honor of it's use in an amazing MOC by @Lennyrhys that I imagine you've seen already:

Those pants in the engine inspired this week's piece:

The celebrated 73200 Mini Lower Part, otherwise known as minifigure legs or pants. Available in an astounding number of colors and designs and in most Lego sets from this century, this is one of the most iconic Lego pieces of all time. Everyone has one in some color or another, so let' stee this week's Nice Parts Usages! Please, no custom minifigures.

Helloooooooo... Is anyone there? Or are you too busy building? :)

This piece is difficult to use apart from in a minifig. Great choice as it will be Saturday before I finalise my design and share my entry but I'm feeling the pressure after winning week 1 (boast, boast)  ;)

I'll give it a try, still on holiday though so limited pieces, but I did pick up some sets on sale for parts usage and one of them has pants (or trousers as the people on this side of the planet like to cal them ;-)).

Really sorry I haven't been participating so far! I've been on holiday for a week or two, but I'll gladly participate from next week on (part availability depending!).

Someone tried a monthly mini-build competition once, but it never really took off, so it's nice to see this thread so active!

(I've always held the personal and slightly rude opinion that creative competitions like this are good for exercising the minds of crusty old collectors ;-) )

So I went for a bit of a mountain-scene. Han and Leia are enjoying a nice pizza-picnic next to a mountainstream. Its also a little puzzle, like spot the 7 pairs of pants. (2 of them are actually children's ones.
    I had fun with this!

^^ Yup, I tried to fulfil the title, it's my son's favourite bit from the lego movie. He is always trying to imitate the line and pretending to move his head 360 degrees.

    ^like the tree!

Loving these threads. I don't have the skill nor the pieces to get involved but the spontaneous creativity is amazing to see. Keep it up :)

darn, @SirBen beat me to the same idea, guess I'm sitting this week out unless inspiration strikes.

lol, some of you have too many pants available. most of my unused ones are broken.
  • dannyrwwdannyrww Member Posts: 1,394
I broke into my daughters' collection for the pants. Their minifigures are all taken apart half the time anyways.

^ I just took some minifigures apart (hence no disclaimer like ' no minifigures were harmed on the production of this MOC). Don't worry, they are all together again, and packed because our time at the seaside is over :-(

Oh well, at least I'll get to sleep in my own comfortable bed tonight!

The ones I used for this build came from a LUG event support kit which did not contain an equal number of torsos, leg, heads and headwear.

I understand that I can submit up to five designs so I'm going to submit my two entries now. The first is a little difficult to find the pants and the second is a PA speaker.

I didn't see the pants at first, but then... Dang. That's pretty clever.

I don't remember imposing a limit, but five sounds good.

@LordofLego Can we use parts separate parts from the legs, or do we have use them as a complete assembly?
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,662
damn, that centipede might beat my dog :/

Doesn't matter. You have one day. This week's was extended due to unforeseen events. Nothing bad, don't worry.

The tree was the best. Might use that in some builds.

I know this is long overdue, but I just found this (not mine), and thought others would enjoy as well!
