In my experience, nothing more than what the store charges you, that is true for BL or Amazon UK, etc

Depending on amout involved, you might have to pay tax and import duties. If seller marks the package as gift with low value, then you shold be OK. But it depends how you pay. With Paypal goods seller might have to post at higher cost with signed for etc, rather than cheapest possible. Parcels rarely go missing (unless sold via Ebay..) so paying for tracking is a waste of money.

@Norlego There are no tax or import duties for packages coming into the US (but in therory, you should report in some states and pay the state taxes on it along with income tax).
@dragon114 yes a good seller should honor the quote.

Be careful if you use the quote at checkout feature. If just one part sells to someone in the meantime the entire quote is cancelled and you lose your work. So keep a copy if the order in case.

I thought Import Duty would be due on incoming packages valued at $200+ - it's a long time since this applied to me though so maybe it's changed.

Aye, but I once sent something to US that attracted Import Duty. I was sure the threshold was $200 but as I say, was a while ago. The OP should do a bit of research if they're buying an expensive set as opposed to a few-$ parts order.

I had amazon orders this year and last year above $200 that were delivered without issues from UK to US, but nothing was above $350

I am vindicated.... There is import duty to be had for the pleasure of importing stuff into the US. It appears if the sum is under $200 nothing much happens. (Or "generally" as the website claimed...) There was another limit of $2000. Was not clear how much duty one had to pay. With customs you really never now what they will do.
