How much is a metroliner with only the two end cars,track,club car and speed reulator worth

Less than a complete set obviously.  It's hard to quantify "worth" of something that is incomplete, as you don't have direct comparisons to compare.  I'd probably say less than $100, but that is not a scientific answer in any way.

^ A used 4547 or 10002 Club Car by itself sells for $100+. I'd say the market puts the value at $180 (assuming you are missing the platform and all the minifigs)
