Damaged boxes from Amazon.

Anyone have any experience with this?  Just got the UCS Slave 1 and there is quite a bit of damage.  Would you say Amazon is pretty good with returns on these kind of items or maybe even offer a discount back on the purchase?

^Yes. I would contact them and ask about a discount or tell them you wish to exchange it for an undamaged copy. That's a $200 set, and they should be able to get it to you in undamaged condition. I had a UCS Imperial Shuttle arrive in damaged condition, and they gave me a 10% discount. I was going to build it anyway, so it worked out for everyone. Hope it goes well...

Thanks for the help!  It is funny, I have ordered from them for years and have never had any damage.  With this box though, there is a giant puncture mark.  As you said, it is a $200 set and I want that box to be in decent shape, so I shall contact them tomorrow.

I had this happen once. Call them and they usually happily do either or. Send you a replacement or offer a discount.  If you plan on building it take the discount and enjoy.

Just got in contact with them and they offered me 30% back!  Whoa.  How could I refuse that even with the damaged box?  To be honest with you though, I really was not looking forward to going to going through with the extra hassle of returning it.

^Awesome! You could probably purchase a cheap replacement box on BL if you're a purist and it might help the resale value a bit when you finally decide to part (pardon the pun) with it.
