Pull the trigger time

B0SSKB0SSK Member Posts: 175
Guys,  do you think the new star wars imperial shuttle tydirium 75094 will be on sale for a few years, and reduce in price in the not too distant future (such as the 2014 snowspeeder, B wing and AT-AT etc) or sell out in a short time?    I cannot decide whether to pull the trigger and buy it now with my £10 vip points discount (making it £69.99) or hang on till end of year/next year.

Any thoughts please :)

It is a regular set and will be available in all the usual shops for all the usual sales, especially in the Fall/Holiday shopping time of year.

For a wide-release set like this, it's generally safe to plan on it being available for about a year. It will be discounted; how much is difficult to predict. 15% off is a reasonable expectation, I think. A few years ago, you could wait for 25% off, but I wouldn't do that now. I'm speaking from a US perspective here, though, so YMMV.

The wildcard in this case is the impact TFA sets will have on non-TFA sets. It's entirely possible retailers will prioritize TFA at the expense of stocking non-TFA sets (particularly the expensive ones). But I'd be surprised if this happened everywhere, and I expect at least [email protected] will have this set available a year from now (though it may be on its way out).

Hi binaryeye, thanks for the response, but what did you mean by saying "it may be on it's way out?"    Thanks

^ It may be close to EOL, nearing the end of availability, might soon be discontinued, etc.
