^ Yes same at my store. They were near the Christmas Wrapping paper in the Seasonal section. Shame that there is only room for 4 or 5 on the display unit at a time. I suppose this is to keep someone from buying their entire stock in one visit.

I found some today at another Northern Indiana Target. I took the three that I saw at the greeting cards. I saw more at the toy section. I was glad that I got the three that I wanted, because after I had checked out I saw a teenager with an armful asking about how to get them. I didn't look near the Wrapping Paper, so I don't know if there were any there.

I got a hold of a few today... Called the store, the said they had them in stock. Went to the store, there were no displays out yet. I had to wait for the one person who knew where they were to come back from break so they could retrieve them from the back (because they don't scan like normal products).

Everyone was very pleasant, and I got my Target SnowDogBearMen.

I finally found these today. Picked up nine. I'll contact those who have contacted me about getting these.

I can confirm the Harry Potter Lab set and the Target Practice are two of the Xmas polybags this year.

Scored 4 of the Target Gift Cards today. Looking for Rod Torqueline from Cars building event at TRU last month if anyone has 1 for trade. As much as I love the Cars sets I am saving them sealed for my son to build in a few years when he is old enough.

Scored a few via the Milford, CT store. Same store had Harry Potter Lab @ $3.99 and Target Practice @ $3.49. Ninjago and Atlantis @ $0.39.

39 cents! That's crazy good! I only get to visit my Targer once a month, so let's see what's left then!

The gift cards came into stock in our region at a few locations Monday and were widely available today (Tuesday). As expected, word spread like wildfire, particularly after it hit some general non-LEGO deals sites.

I think by midday nearly all the stores were out of stock. They should be replenished, but I expect them to continue to go just as quickly.

    Oh, and I got... a lot :)
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
@giraffefreckles - the 39 cents was a clearance price, they are all gone now, don't expect to find anymore, everyone has cleaned them out! :)

or maybe :( if you didn't get any...
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
BTW, if anyone can't find one of these and wants one, I picked up a few extras. I have 5 of them with $5 each stored on them, I'd do something reasonable for those if 5 people want them for their own collection. Still attached to the retail card, as mint as retail items get. :)

I love all things Star Wars, so trades of Star Wars polybags or other items would be reasonable. I do have the following polybags I picked up at Target that I can include to make for a better trade:

    30042
    30053
    30080
    4900

Send me a message if you're interested.

@legofantexas the gift cards are removeable this time
  • kylejohnson11kylejohnson11 Member Posts: 508
@thebrickster I believe you need to break the seal of the packaging (cardboard) to get it out.

@legofantexas if you were interested in spending the $5 on each one, I was able to use them at my Target and got it all back without opening it.
  • LegoFanTexasLegoFanTexas Member Posts: 8,404
@kylejohnson11 - yes I know I could spend them, but don't have anything to buy right now and I really don't want to handle them more than I have to, to keep them mint.

I figure someone else can take them off my hands and count the $5 value as part of a trade, or I'll spend them at some point in the future.

Not looking to get rich off them, just looking to trade for something fun and cool that I don't have.

Have to give you two thumbs up for that comment! (^_^)

BTW, I can confirm that you can buy the gift cards with previously purchased gift cards.

^ At the same time, I hope this doesn't become a common occurrence to sour the evaluation of whether or not Target views this as a retail success.

I could see Target raising the minimum value required on these cards if they continue to offer it next year.
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ Agreed. It was more of an interest to find out. I bought 5 @ $5 each yesterday. Bought 5 more at a different store today, and used two of the cards from yesterday to pay for a portion. Left 5 on the hooks for others to get on both days.

@legofantexas - oh, I know. Those deals are too good to last more than a few hours, I would think - unless they're unmarked. I don't get to go out much anymore, so my Target and LEGO shop visits are few. Window shopping online is where I get my kicks. Last time I was at Target, my husband would not let me stand around pawing through the minifig collection for what I wanted. You know, the baby's nap time came first. :P

I'll go see if I can drag the family on a detour this weekend... You know, early Xmas shopping... :)

On a more general note, I'd buy these gift cards even if they had a $50 minimum card value requirement. The household always needs something from Target...

I too wouldn't mind if the minimum gift card amount was higher (why not $25 or $50) as it would stop or at least slow down hoarders from cleaning out all the stores in a particular area.

Managed to hit Target today. The front registers (where most of the gift cards were hanging) sent me to Electronics, where they keep the more theft-worthy gift cards under lock and key. The guy had heard of the LEGO one, but both he and his co-worker had not yet seen any such thing.
  • kylejohnson11kylejohnson11 Member Posts: 508
I saw these in three different locations in the store. They were by greeting cards, between Christmas and electronics on an end cap, and in toys on an end cap.
  • rocaorocao Administrator Posts: 4,290
^^ These haven't been at the front registers at my local stores. Gift card stations (hanging placard with hooks) are scattered throughout the store at the end of the aisles. There is usually one near the greeting cards, holiday, and toys. You'll know that they were available at some point if you see the the placard with the LEGO gift card.

Hmmm...thanks for the summary of possible locations. Hit the holiday and toy sections too and was on the lookout for end cap placeholders, but nothing there. The other Electronics guy tried to send me to the registers, but the first guy said I had been sent by them. Next time, I'll give the greeting card section a try.

(I did see various sets for about 25% off each, like prisoner transport, the AC tripod, the Creator transport truck [with helicopter.]. Seemed to mimic, to a certain extent, recent Amazon sales. Also, the only polybags left were Toy Story army men and jeep; they've been there forever!)

    Cheers!

I've got a few of these if anyone is still looking for them. I'm looking to do some trades.
  • LegogeekLegogeek Member Posts: 714
Wow. finally got ONE! Hit two Targets yesterday, and both followed the same pattern - the gift card displays are spread throughout the store on endcaps (should have taken a picture, duh). One Target had at least 3 or 4 displays for the LEGO gift cards, the other had 2 or 3. The first store was completely out of them, while the second store had a few. So my advice, if you go, make sure to do a quick walk through the store, down all the main aisles and check all the end cap gift card displays.

I have one to trade for 30140 Alien Conquest Walker. Would be interested in two. And maybe a AC Battle Pack. I have a couple extra Target sets to trade (maybe with $5 cards). PM me.
  • thebricksterthebrickster Member Posts: 63
now we need a tru graff gift card
  • Bosstone100Bosstone100 Member Posts: 1,431
I now have a few of these to trade. Evidently, the 30140 Alien Conquest Walker poly was only a limited release so I will consider other sets in trade. I'm looking for the Wreath poly and I could use an AC battle pack also. Or just make an offer.

    these are now on target.com

    http://www.target.com/p/Lego-2011-GiftCard/-/A-13816379

catch is that you must put 25.00 at least to have them shipped to you, otherwise it is an email delivery, which i assume means no lego at all. Im not sure im gonna buy these now, i would have bought some for 5.00 for sure but have no luck in store

I was at my local target today. I didn't think that I would find any left given that they've been out for so long. Indeed, I saw the empty hooks that they used to hang on. :) On my way out of the store, I went past the Customer Service counter. Since there's no line there, I thought, heck, I will ask if they were indeed all gone. The lady listened to my inquiry, opened her drawer, fished around a little bit, and surprise, there's a LEGO gift card! She said that's the last one in the whole store.

The gift card made my 6-year-old a very happy boy tonight. :)

I went to a couple stores today and no Gift card. Last year it was easier to get these. I hope they'll restock.

does anyone need quantity of these?
  • giraffefrecklesgiraffefreckles Member Posts: 100
Ooooh. Finally found a stack during my monthly trip to Target. This was a far away, big Target. Some of the staff didn't know what I was talking about, some thought it was just a bunch of LEGOs to buy, and the knowledgeable people in Electronics say that stuff sells out on Day 1.

The kids at my daughter's birthday party will be pleased.

Thanks everyone for the hints! Brickset rocks!
