Should I keep or sell 10195 now?

I was just wondering, when would it be the best time to sell this set? I got it for a pretty good price and looking to either put it back on ebay or should I leave it until nearer December before I put it on sale? I have a used set and they are going anywhere between £200 - £250. The set is complete with the box and instructions in mint condition. Are there any chances of this retired set to come back to be reinstated ?

There is always a chance that it will come back, but why should that matter if you are pondering selling it now or this December? I would wait until at least September to sell.

Just some advice. Your query would be best suited for the "Predictions on Discontinuing Sets and their Secondary Market Value" thread. No need to open a new thread for every question :)

Lloyd Christmas would say "yes"  :D

I agree with @Pitfall69; September would be a good time to start looking to sell to increase the potential buyers.

October to December is peak time for selling for me, get rid by 1st week of December though IMO

If you are selling it on eBay and the instructions have been used to build it, then do not describe them as mint. If they have the slightest fingerprint on them, then they are not mint and the buyer may well complain or ask for a refund as you have not described them accurately.

I Personally refrain from ever using the term "mint" in any auction new or otherwise. To many condition divas on eBay.

So what is the difference between new and mint ?

One is a condition that can objectively be proven (new as in never built still in original bags even if the box is missing or opened). The other is highly subjective.

See, therein lies the question. Box condition is in the eye of the beholder. You may think a box or set is mint, another may not. I never list my sets as MISB. It also isn't obvious that everything inside the box is mint. The instructions could be bent, the stickers crumpled and parts scratched. I believe there have been several complaints about the UCS Red Five X-Wing's windscreen being scratched. In short, you may want to reconsider listing any of your sets MISB or Used set 100% Complete Mint.

Sell it now, but that doesnt mean you have to sell it at any cost.  Know what you want  to get out of it, if you don't get it now you may later as the holiday shopping kicks in.

As people have said, the prime selling months are Sept-early December, any other time, unless a very unique item, you might just be liquidating not selling.

May I suggest that before you sell anything, you learn the difference between new and mint (and near mint, and excellent, etc.).  Google is your best friend, aggregating a great deal more than a few folks here on a thread that really shouldn't exist.

Also, please understand that there is no such thing as a mint used thing, ever.  Combining them is a near guarantee to have an unhappy buyer.

Another point is make sure its a buy it now and not an auction to ensure you get the right price. Otherwise you run the risk of a low selling price.
