Grey Boba Fett with a white rangefinder...
I believe it's reasonable too expect them too have approximately the same number and variety (not just SH) as last year. Which would mean numbers at or above 1,500 across several themes. With the new Star Wars movie coming out, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a SW exclusive minifigure, along with a mix of Super Heroes and one other theme.
I've been to comic con every year for over 20 years, some people would say "good thing you don't get to go, give someone else a shot" But I feel like I'm missing tradition...
I've been told by a guy who sells at various conventions that the best of the American ones from his perspective was NYCC - just because New York (as a city) is a lot better equipped than San Diego for a massive influx of people. Not that San Diego can't take the people but NY has a lot more travel connections and more (and wider varied) hotels etc. Shame LEGO don't do NYCC any more!
One LEGO-related thing we do know about this year's SDCC is that Little, Brown Books for Young Readers will be promoting their new LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Friends, and LEGO Bionicle graphic novels at their booth (source).
Something that definitely makes for an interesting turn of events is that last year, NYCC actually surpassed SDCC in its overall number of attendees. So perhaps LEGO might plan a more modest presence at SDCC this year so they can save more of their promotional budget for NYCC.
Just to see the complaints from people - this is crap, but I just HAVE to pay $500 for it to be complete. :-)
Other than the stupid cost (although in a way that's part of the draw of getting them too if you see what I mean), I quite like the Exclusives, (well other than the 2013 ones as they are just a bit too much £££). There are some excellent mainstream figs out there, but having such a rare item(s) as part of a collection really appeals to me.
That said, no more than two SH figs again this year please!
Simpsons, Doctor Who, Ghostbusters or Back To The Future - unlikely
with a Marvel/DC highly likely (although probably not directly linked to the movies)
My money personaly would be on a comic costume Antman if they are going with a semi-film tie-in
Or perhaps Wasp since she is the only founding Avenger without at least one fig. I know she isn't in a movie but whatever (It is Disney- it's tough for them to have female characters that arnt damsel in distress princesses)
You have to wonder how the programming would work for that
It would take a good amount of extra work to make something into a digital game piece
It isn't just throwing together a few blocks (or even ones with exclusive prints)
Would it really be worth the extra effort for just a few people to be able to have when more then a few won't even be opened to be played with?
I am counting on something for the Star Wars line up too. Either way, I will be in on both those genres.
Those that get the exclusive get the figure/set and the content, while all others that own the game still get access to the content at least (albeit for a small price).
Just a thought on it.
ps.
How many of you who visit SDCC also dress up for it in cosplay? If you do, do they let you in for free?
Kinda like Stewie in his banana-suit:
Wow! Ren & Stimpy those cartoons were epic!
Just like Cow & Chicken, I am Weasel, Johny Bravo, and Dexter's Lab btw.
Why are such awesome, wicked, wacky cartoons no longer made, I often wonder?!
Unlike Southpark and Family Guy, Ren & Stimpy were not made for adults, but I remember them being gritty, and full of sexual innuendos, and of course with lots of Tom & Jerry inspired comical toon-violence.

The Ultron sentry figs look the same and I think the Ultron is the Ultimate Ultron from the new Quinjet set. Still a nice little display piece, assuming you can get it for a decent price.
