Quick Unikitty Question

wayneggwaynegg Member Posts: 394
Did the Unikitty 70803 Cloud Cuckoo Palace come with a white snout like all the other pink versions? The one I bought was a pink that's almost as dark as the block but I've seen some on ebay that appear to be white, or at least almost white. Am I missing something, figuratively and literally?

I think that they are all pink. I suppose depending on the lighting it could appear white in photos (check out the brickset database pictures which vary in colour in the photos, but I think they're all pink).

    You mean the 1x3 plate?
Yes, that's white. The pink one goes on top of the block.
This pink Unikitty doesn't have printed eyebrows like the other pink versions.

You can see it in the Brickset database: http://brickset.com/minifigs/tlm077/Unikitty

No. The 1x3 pink brick the eyes, nose, snout, and mouth are painted on. I was asking about the snout and then decided to just bust open my sealed box and use the body to put together Cheery Kitty to go with Cutesie. Now I'll need to source another tail and body because it's very definitely different.

Sorry, misunderstood.  On the printed brick it's pink, a little brighter than the body.

Note that most of the time the whites of the eyes are the same color as the muzzle. In all the photos I've seen of the original Unikitty this ends up being a light pink color, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's somewhat variable.

It's not uncommon for the background color of a brick to show through white printing (this was a widespread issue with Kingdoms minifigures in 2010), and avoiding this usually requires multiple coats of white ink to be printed on. I'm guessing LEGO made this adjustment for the SDCC Unikitties last year as well as this year's Unikitty variants, which is why their white printing looks "cleaner" than the original Unikitty and Bizniz Kitty variants.
