Hi All, so after spending most of the late 70's early 80's playing with the magic little bricks here I am again enjoying it all again with my 7year old daughter

That's where it starts, blaming it on the kids to excuse the amount you're about to spend......

    Welcome.

If it's not the kids now, it will be later... when you're trying to justify it all.

Wow so I have just realised that my massive "intro" has been cut about 90% short

    Character limits??

Welcome aboard!  There are character limits but should be far more than your intro?
No harm at all in taking interest in your kids LEGO.  After all you are the one that has to pay for them!  It's well within your parental rights to build with them as well.

1000$ in a week? and I thought 200€ in a month was already slightly unreasonable

I think that when you're getting out of the dark age, mass buying is somewhat "normal" (or at least very common), especially if money is not too much of a problem. I've bought my first Lego set in November 2014, and when I look at my collection summary on Brickset, I can't believe that I've spent so much on Lego in just 6 months. But hey, that has never prevented me from paying the bills, eating well, being well dressed, saving money for my daughter's studies or doing fun activities with my little family so... It's ok, really. As long as you keep it within your means. :)
