The top of the "Sales and Deals" page at [email protected] reads: "*Hurry! Limited availability of Death Star (10188) at discounted price." But it's listed at $399.99. Perhaps it will be discounted when deals go live tonight?

I just checked and mine doesn't show that banner.

I see that verbiage on the UK site (http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Sales-And-Deals), but not the US one.

  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,487
Not to mention, the prices are already live. Pretty poor discounts, although nice to see some of the "newer" UCS sets available at a cheaper price.

Has it started? I should say has the offer for the fig at least started?

Yes, about 50 new sale items for US.  Mostly 10-20%.  Perhaps a decent deal here or there but nothing too exciting.

    Edit.  Nope, nothing decent.

Sale is live, some sets appear to be discounted
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,487
    The sale is live now.

Which means my hope for a good deal is officially dead now.

Went ahead and got an X-Wing UCS. Figure I will be sad later if I miss the boat. Might pick up some of the smaller sale stuff at the store in the morning at my LUG meeting

For convenice, here's what's on sale so far (I might actually pick up a T-16 at that price)

    10% off
    75058 MTT
    75040 Wheelbike
    75080 AAT
    75090 Ezra Speeder Bike
    3 Series 2 Microfighters

    20%off
    75042 Droid gunship
    75050 B Wing
    75081 T-16
    75037 Battle on Saleucami
    3 Series 2 Microfighters

  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
I went with a T-16, 4 Microfighters and 2 Battlepacks to cross the threshold for Yularen.

^^ You forgot to mention 20% off clocks and keychains!

This sale is very uninspiring. Nothing here to make me break open the wallet although the T-16 might be a decent investiment since it hasn't been redone a hundred times and the Sandpeople fig is pretty valuable.

There is a couple of ok sales, but sure wish they would include some of the bigger Star Wars sets like Ewok Village or the Sandcrawler, etc. Kinda boring otherwise.
  • groundedgrounded Member Posts: 73
    I was underwhelmed if that's a word....

I've been trying to find a good reason to get a Sandcrawler or a Death Star (you guys know that it's retiring soon?!?!), but some freebie minifig isn't quite the push I need.

LEGO has been consistent since the new no discount on exclusive policy. Unless that policy changes, I will never expect discount on UCS. It sucks in a way, but now when there is a promo I like, I go for it as I know there will be no better deal down the road.

The US sale sucks, but currently, Yularen is going for about $25-30 on Ebay. Is he really worth that? We will see, but if his price holds, that's pretty good.

Supply/demand. He isn't worth that. I predict him leveling out at $10 soon enough.

The only reason anyone will probably want Yularen is for the Death Star set.  Still seems like such a strange polybag. Aunt Beru or even the Cantina bartender would have made 10x more sense and sold quite a few more sets.
  • nolatronnolatron Member Posts: 39
I was hoping the Cantina would've been on sale but nope.  I picked up the Tie Fighter and almost the B-Wing but decided I wanted the upcoming Shuttle Tydirium instead.

I ordered last night around midnight Central and got my shipping notice already.

It's like we are being punished for the B-Wing debacle.

Is the UK ever going to get a half price UCS set...

Thinkgeek is also doing 20% off all Star Wars right now, including LEGO. Couple sets like the Star Destroyer are included plus you get a free pin over there.

That is surprising, but the bulk buyers have not yet put up their figures. Hoping it gets down to 15-20 USD after the dust settles

Went to my store and got the 20% off Lincoln Memorial. Disappointed in the "build a starship" thing. Saw the s2 Simpsons mini figs and helped a fellow AFOL feel packages for Maggie/Santa's Little Helper.

And Lego would like to thank you for helping clear out extra inventory by gifting you a Yularen minifig.

Our TRU had the free mini wookie gunship today, and buy 1 Star Wars set and get one 40 percent off.   They had simpsons 2 CMF and 12s and 13s.

Toys r us has some expensive sets listed on their site as part of the buy one get one deal but none of them are in stock.  Has anyone tried to get them to match the deal in store?
  • richlrichl Member Posts: 246
^I was wondering the same thing and headed down to Times Square TRU just now - there's additional signage specifically excluding all the larger sets (Ewok Village, Death Star, Sancrawler, Slave I etc etc)

This looks to be the first May the 4th that I will NOT participate in, in a l-o-n-g time.  I remember back the excitement I had when the UCS Falcon was 20% off and when the B-Wing had a great discount and all the other discounts and minifigs we've seen over the years.  It may still be hyped like it is May the 4th, but it just seems like any other day of the year to me.

^ I disagree, it does not seems like another day of the year.. the other day of the year I am not disappointed with a lack of sales :)

They had to give people 50% off the B-Wing; to make up for the Hoth Han they were giving out that year ;)
