^Just remember...their national sport is basically American football with sticks and a high-velocity piece of frozen rubber. @Pitfall69's version of Boxing Day might be a bit of a let down for them.

I know this thread isn't to everyone's taste but bringing dogging into things? I didn't realise it had reached such depths! ;-)

^The beauty of a global forum!  Every day is a school day.
Yeah, I was itching to go to the UK for the High Holiday's because I thought it was awesome that after Christmas there's a special day where you can walk around a punch the crap out of people. Boy was I mistaken ;)
It's slightly different in the UK countryside, or certainly when I was a youngster; anyone with a shotgun spent the day hunting anything small and fluffy....which was far more civilised!

I'm getting the impression 'dogging' might mean something different?  (Pardon my cleverless cat/dog joke.)

Clearly, dogging has a different meaning in the UK these days... I took @SumoLego's comment to mean: "to follow or track like a dog, especially with hostile intent; hound."

Won't be using that term anymore...

My Google search of 'British Dogging' was... surprising yet unsurprising.

    Meow!

The whole clip is much funnier.

So it appears the Pet shop is gone for good, maybe some of the 1st series Dimensions as well (judging by the out of stock stuff at S@H)?

Do you think #10243 Parisian Restaurant will be retiring soon, or is it just OOS for the season? Although I have overspent already, I'd rather get it than miss out on it.

Palace Cinema will likely be discontinued before the Parisian Restaurant

At a highly trafficked open air market?

(I promise, I'm done.  But I'm now obssessed with that show!)

I wouldn't pay much attention to the OOS status. I ordered an OOS detective's office and it said it would ship by 12/12. I received it on the 9th. Most likely, Lego is just having trouble keeping up with Christmas orders on the larger sets like that.

It's over a year old, so it wouldn't surprise me. Currently it's 20% off on the US S@H. It's a Toys 'R' Us exclusive, if that has any bearing on people's predictions.

Ninjago - City of Stiix is marked as retiring soon in Germany, so yes.

Picked it up yesterday at 50% off.  Back up to regular price today.  Sales are crazy all over the place and one never knows when they'll pop up or how long they'll last.

It wasn't bad in the beginning, but then the boxes collapsed, and parts started sticking through the boxes...

#10244 Fairground Mixer seems to have been resurrected on S@H and is on "back order" at the moment.

Just because I'm still learning the market, what are thoughts regarding the demand for #75919 Indmonius Rex Breakout? I see it averages about 25 sales a month on Bricklink. However, as I don't have a store, I can't really rely on that for answers.

I only ask as I have the ability to pick one up for a good price, but would do so only to resell. Anyone willing to give some thoughts?

Depends on how much people care for the movie a few years later. If JW2 flops, I don't see it doing well.

Dinosaurs are dinosaurs. Kids always love dinosaurs. If it were the Dinosaucers, well that's a different story.

If you look at all the tv shows about dinosaurs from outer space - Dinosaucers is by far the best.

I think the location and villain based sets are the strongest of the line. I'm not gonna be investing in them but plan on buying several different sets at 50% if I find them.

  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
Usually if you can find the big "headquarters" or $100 anchor sets of the weak lines on sale for like 50% off like pharmjod said, you'll do fine. Look at the Lion Temple in Chima.
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,492
I know this isn't so much a price check thread, but curious what the thoughts would be on the value of a sealed #6073 set? Let's say I could buy it for $70, is that a reasonable investment? Not much history on sealed versions of this on BL.
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
^Depending on the condition of the box, I would say at least $250-300 range. While there might not be a huge difference between newer used sets vs. newer sealed sets, the older sealed sets command a lot more money than the used version. I hope that makes sense.
