I have a few #10222 on hand, do you guys think it will continue to go up or it is pretty much topped out?

It will and has gone up over the past two years. As it was discontinued and caught many off guard many people want it, especially for completion of the line as I doubt they are doing another Post office (and it is not a terrible set either)

Could have taken him years, Christ cannot believe some people will jump on any comment..

You'll have to forgive him, for The LoneTensor is made of money and has little understanding for those of us who have to make day to day decisions based on their finances.

Don't be so hostile. I'm not comparing real-life amusement rides. I'm comparing Lego sets. The Fairground Mixer and Ferris Wheel Lego sets are not in the same class as the Grand Carousel. It is like comparing the Lego Star Wars system sets with their UCS counterparts. The Ferris Wheel isn't even Minifigure scale.

I look at the good in a LEGO set, and the Fairground Mixer has a lot of positive attributes. While it's not as complex or detailed as the Grand Carousel, I'm fine with that. I don't need it to be the same class as the latter. To each his own.

Almost everyone has said that the video really shows off the Mixer. Instead of that awkward Digital Box thing in stores only, and the links on the S@H product pages, perhaps TLG should look into putting QR codes on the boxes (and in catalogs) so people can watch it more easily.

If Lego releases a roller coaster, I would have to get a minimum of two copies on release day :)

You probably would want to, and it still could fit with the design ideal of being mobile as you would just have two trucks setting up a somewhat larger coaster.
I'm guessing that one, a Ferris wheel (albeit not huge), and bumper cars are due as well in their line.
In any case some money makers there if they do them right.

While TLG is doing UCS models, it would be great if they did some UCS amusement park sets. The added benefit is that there would be no licensing fees for TLG. It's a win-win for everyone... :-)

With HE potentially gone, any news on what will be replacing it? Something more EN style?

Call to UK Customer Services tomorrow to see why me second half of HE is not on its way? Will be off to a B&M store to collect if they're all gone (if possible)

Hoping more EN style personally. I bought one online for the Saturday event to get the double points and the holiday set #2. Sadly did not get a 15% discount being in the states so 2x vip is as good as it gets for the US.

Yeah, around 8:20 (PST) it was in stock..i checked the 'other' site and they said it was gone by 10:30. I'm just guessing, but hopefully some Lego B&M stores will receive another shipment tomorrow, if so i doubt it'll last until BF. Call your local store tonight and they may tip you on if they have some or not.

Apparently there were more SSD's and GE'son amazon about an hour or so ago. Gone now though. Those darn Brickpickers are faster than Usain Bolt.

^^I found two UCS R2's at the Michigan Ave Lego Store this past Friday. I bought them both and had them shipped to my house (store limit was 3). Dude said they were not getting any more in, and it was "retiring"...of course the reliability of that statement is subject to interpretation.

At this point when there is a hint of EOL, it's already too late to stock up.

Interesting that Amazon keeps getting in stocks of GE (I presume this is US) Wonder if GE really is gone if they keep 'finding' ones to put up for sale.

Amazon has had more stock of GE in the past month than it had all year. Kind of strange.

Wow, #850932 Polar accessory pack, we hardly knew ye. 'Sold out' at S@H US
  • LegoKipLegoKip Member Posts: 259
@madforLEGO‌ This set has been difficult to keep stocked in the B&M stores, so not surprised it's out at S@H -- but I don't think it's retiring so fast -- just really popular among the kiddos.

Limited to 2.... Has it always been this low at S@H US?
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,728
Just thinking out loud here, what if they stalled the stock on R2D2 during the VIP sale so resellers wouldn't be able to load up while accumulating 2x points and bonus gifts? Could the anti-reseller ploys be as complex as that? I don't think I believe that is true based off one case, but if this becomes a trend it might be deliberate.
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
Such a decision risks turning off more average buyers than thwarting resellers, I think. Of course there's no way to prove anything one way or the other, but I doubt TLG's reseller "strategy" extends beyond the knee-jerk ban of big buyers.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
I think they'd rather have it in stock, sell a bunch to resellers and then ban them before they can use their points for being resellers.

    Wait Town Hall is gone?

^Well...that's what I read on the other retirement thread. But don't quote me on it...

Town Hall can't be gone because that would be out of sequence and that goes against the Law of Gravity or something.

Same in Hungary and the rest of Eastern Europe. No discounts on sets. Wonder if it was the same last weekend, too. (Which I missed.)

What sets remain that folks think will EOL this year? After so many gone, it's hard to believe still more may be going by year's end. I think Orthanc has got legs, Maersk will probably go, but AA is a big question mark. Could be all that is going is already gone.

For those who missed out on the Batcave from Target, Walmart online has them for $48.99. Still a good price.

Not that big but still remarkably what have gone shortly with "sold out" from S@H EU is:

    F1 car #42000
    the mine #4204
    x wing #9493
    King's Castle #70404
    Excavator #42006

What will go soon for sure:
    WVM #10235
    crawler #9398
  • stevemackstevemack Member Posts: 934
42000 Will be a good one to have I think!

Noticed Santa's Workshop is really, really doing well. Not even available to add to cart now, it's in UCS Tumbler "temporarily out of stock" status practically. Stores are limiting to one per household.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
By accounts I have heard, the Santa's Workshop is selling really well, likely due to its price point as well.
Tumbler's activity is just insane given its price point, I'm guessing it crosses over to Batman fans very well, but I think part of why it is temporarily sold out most of the time is same reason why Exo suit is: The lack of production time for the set.
My guess is if the #10188 Death Star were released today you would see the same thing happen.
Santa's workshop probably got a lions share of run time as it is a holiday set, but now its stocks are running low.

Interesting about some of these other sets selling out in the EU.
Then again any set that shows 'sold out' on LEGO around the holidays could just mean that the set has run out of stock and they are not in the middle or producing more.
I say that it would be strange for standard theme sets released in '13 to be discontinued this early (though it does occur)

Can anyone remember from the old staff here that so many exclusive sets were gone at once? The last two years it was hard to find ONE set with the exclusive number beginning with 10xxx that was marked "Sold Out". But this month got crazy:

Let's see, what retired last year... FB, WVC... That's pretty much it, right? No wonder this year has been so crazy, TLG's playing catch up.
  • stevemackstevemack Member Posts: 934

The only thing that was not talked about on that list for months now is Town Hall, I too did not see that one coming. :/

Glad I grabbed a few when I went to the BF VIP Event.
I just imagine what people that bought Tan 32x32 baseplates for 10-15 dollars each are going to think when they see them for 4.99 or 5.99 USD.

I notice that #10223 Kingdoms Joust is on sale at s@h in the US for Cyber Monday. Some other new items on sale as well, but none of them mentioned on this thread :-)
