I need some pics of the Detective Agency! And they must have a surprise exclusive getting ready to launch too, having killed production on HH, TH, and GE.
I can see PC going out before PS. Not going to call it yet, but I can see the plausibility.
Lego should know better than to create sets with the same initials. ;-)
I really wanted that plane for building since a long time ago but was holding for a discount. I know there will be many deals on BF but who knows on what.
I think about 6 years ago such a set would be a sleeper, but after the Remote controlled excavator (#8043) prices have been average for much of the EOL Technic IMO. Specifically the more expensive of the line as everyone seems to have the same idea that due to price these will be sought after they EOL.
Will they go up? Likely, but they are pretty bulky to try to horde them IMO and with the prices the way have been for other EOL technic sets lately I think you may have to hold them for a while to really make it worth holding them. Remember you are also going to have massive speculation on these (and other 'money makers') with speculators/resellers that could buy a car, if not a house, with some one the money they are tying into LEGO these days. All of these people also have the means to under cut anyone trying to sell their 4 for a good profit, which means you either have to sell them relatively low if you want a quick return or wait for those big guys to clear out most of theirs at the low prices first (which can take some time, a lot more than 1-2 years anyway).
That is one reason why I think the small/casual resellers will move on from LEGO: money will not be quick enough for them. Especially when the 'heavy hitters' that can buy 500 of a set can afford to only make 25-50 dollars per because they are flipping them fast to recoup most of their money buy selling half right away.
As for those that buy to sell to supplant their income. Again, will need to weigh how much they want to store and how long due to this situation
