They have 13 left, they had 40 last weekend. With it being OOS at Lego i can see the remaining stock going in the next 48 hours.

I noticed Harrods have some but at £149

Just placed an order for one at [email protected], what is the likelihood of them cancelling this, never ordered one when it has been delayed shipping like this... Thanks :)

I was looking at my GE box last night and noticed on the back, it advertises the #10185 which went years ago and the #10197 which went at xmas, hence it's gotta go very soon as the whole box etc is totally out of date now!

GE back in stock on [email protected] US with expected ship of July 20. Act quick if you want one!

Pet Shop also backordered a few weeks. Not that it means much but if you want one for personal collection better safe than sorry.

To make me worry more just checked over my order and next to the free gifts on the invoice it's saying customer service... Anyone had this before? The GE itself is showing pending... Unsure if this is due to it being my third order from [email protected] in a week, and they don't like me getting the free gifts but it's not the free gift I want just the GE damn it haha!! Or is this something slightly more generic such as out of stock on the free gifts...

GE alive and kicking in the U.S. How interesting. Despite the siren's song I hear, I'm going to pass.

I just bought one for the heck of it. I have some of the first ones that came out. Wasn't there an issue with a "flower" part in the first batch? Anyway, I used $10 in VIP points and got the Shredder Minifigure. No big deal really.

Thanks for the heads up. Figured on picking another up if it appeared again. Used $20 in VIP points and getting the shredder too.

They must be making another big batch back in the factories. It was probably going to EOL but then they've sold an incredibly large number in the last few days, so they've decided to make more...?!

More seriously, I've had some interesting stock experiences with JL (mainly to do with when I have a price match) - when on the phone to CS they explained that sometimes the stock only updates / reconciles overnight. I am intrigued as to why it is flip flopping in/out of stock and interested to hear what the outcome is - fingers crossed you all get one.

Possibly because of bulk purchasing? There was 13 at one stage then literally 10 mins later just 1,, so maybe someone bought multiples and had there order(s) cancelled, therefore back into the stock system?

This is why I think Fire Brigade was out for so long. People wanting to cash in on what CC, GG and MS had done in the aftermarket. Everyone and their brother bought multiples. If people are still buying them, why not make more? Since most people cannot get discounts on exclusives; people aren't buying as many Modulars. This will probably lead Lego to not produce as many and maybe you will see a shorter lifespan on all current and future Modulars.

I think this was debated some time ago, and I do not think this is the case. They likely still have the materials to make more (Instructions, boxes, etc.).
But I remember someone saying the make x, and it is rare for them to make more based on demand of about 1-2 months.
Plus I think FB kinda trumps the thought of more equals less demand after it EOLs and it completely gone.

The massive rush at the end probably skews the numbers a bit. GE may go in and out of stock for a few months if they toy with some additional batches.
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
So, TLG decides they are going to make X number of Fire Brigades; they will make X no matter how many sell?

Well like I said, Im sure there are exceptions, but my guess is that LEGO has a good idea of how long a run will last and likely ensures there are resources for at least that run.
FB was a poor example as they had the snafu with the part bags missing in the 39R1 batch.

I'm showing that it is Out of Stock. Sold out and Out of Stock are two different things aren't they?

I'm never convinced a set is gone until it no longer has a page on the site.

In defense of @BlueMoonUSA‌ , it was a status of 'Sold out' when I checked LEGO.com (US) last night as well.
Im guessing it is probably going to float around in status at [email protected]

Noticed that Target is still matching a lot of Amazon sale prices. It would be awesome if they did a BOGO soon with those prices. (Or Amazon could do another BOGO, that was a nice surprise last month).

GE showing as "Sold Out" at Lego [email protected] US.
  • TheBrickLaddTheBrickLadd Member Posts: 844
Its back in stock on the UK site. :S
  • timinchicagotiminchicago Member Posts: 239
There are numerous sets listed as "Out of stock" with an estimated shipping date and then there are sets listed as "Temporarily out of stock" e.g. #21050 Architect Studio that may or may not ever come back in stock. And finally there are sets that have been listed as "Sold Out" literally for months and yet are still showing up in the S&H product listing e.g. #9516 Jabba's Palace.

What is the take away here? Check your sanity at the door when you visit LEGO S&H.

My favorite [email protected] goofs are sets like #60017 Cement Truck which was released in December 2012 being 'new' and 'sold out' and still on the first page of City. How in 1.5 years does someone not see that and think 'hey, maybe this isn't new anymore'?

My GE from John Lewis from those of you in the UK came today... First ever order from John Lewis, the parcel guy handed it over and all I could think was tell me it's in another box, I could already feel it crumbling between my hands... tore off the packaging, and there wasn't another box... Just this...
