Does anyone know if the Aquaman included in the TRU Starter Packs is any different than the Aquaman in the fun pack?

(and, relatedly, if there's any chance that Supergirl is also in the box?)

    Answer to #2, nope.

Answer to #1, looks to be the same fun pack just inserted into the Dimensions Starter set. The piece count (43) is the same.

Dimensions has renewed interest in my house after getting an X-Box One S at Christmas. This version is much more stable than the 360 version.  Bought a bunch of cheap fun packs today and now own most of them (still need Goonies and Gremlins). Most Lego games really twig my OCD and we are determined to get every last gold brick, God help me.

The game is much more fun when you have all the characters at your disposal, which is far different than where we were 2 years ago.

Good luck with that. I tried to 100% the game (Wii U), but the game kept saying there was one gold brick left in both the ghostbusters 2016 and TLBM adventure worlds even after I did everything twice...
Customer service's only suggestion was try a new profile. No way I'm re100%ing the game again anytime soon...

^ I 100%ed the 'initial game' before the second wave of extra packs came out with the yellow bases which I kind of celebrated - by leaving the secret cheat on that you get for 100% completion for at least a few minutes to have a laugh! I can't believe it didn't glitch before that happened and corrupt my data, but it has happened since so I've had to restore save data from cloud backups as I work to complete even more.

At the moment for me in terms of '200%ing' the game using the second year packs, I've just lost interest a little and am making very slow progress. It doesn't help that I don't yet have some of the franchises and powers like Powerpuff Girls and Teen Titans. Hopefully I can still get the key Dimensions packs I'm missing for a cheaper price now. Some of the gold bricks in the second year packs can be very annoying though, especially if they involve you having to do a 'Sonic race' that doesn't translate well into the full 3D of Dimensions.

Forgive me if this is already biried somewhere in this thread, but has anyone else noticed the large 42 surfacing in the opening video when you turn on the game?

^ They threw in a tribute to Jackie Robinson?

Anyway I’ve been making slow progress. I’ve 100%ed the story levels, and cleared out 6 hub worlds so far. Still have to do the bonus levels. I encountered a glitch on the Scooby Doo world with the rampaging monster mission. It finished, but did not give me a gold brick. I guess this is a common glitch. I’ll live with it. I now have over a quarter of the 1000+ gold bricks.

I had the same thing happen to me on Batman 3.  We have most of the Lego games and I never cared about 100%ing any of the games.  However, my 5 year old loves this game so we kept playing and I was actually excited we were going to get 100%.  Unfortunately, we are forever stuck at 99%, impossible to get that one final gold brick.

Bought what I think is my final Dimensions purchase (TLBM Story Pack) the other day. Just missing Bart, Cyborg, and 3 of the ninjas, but we can live without them. When I think about it, I can't believe how much money I've put into this game. Anyways, I've been slowing making progress. Just need to finish off the Midway and Jurassic worlds and then all of the Year 1 hub worlds are done.

I"m also happy that what I thought was a glitch in the Scooby Doo world was not actually a glitch. The missing gold brick was the RuleBreaker brick that I had completely forgotten about.

I laboriously destroy everything within sight in every traditional TT Lego game and it almost always pays dividends. Unfortunately, it sometimes means you're left with a Lego-less wasteland. As if some of the hub worlds weren't a wasteland already (DC Comics World much?)

Update since the thread was bumped, I only have the powerpuff Girls hub left, but I'll always be 2 gold bricks short because my game glitched in the GB2016 and TLBM worlds

Did anyone pick up an extra LEGO Batman Movie story pack on clearance from Target? I picked up an extra Ghostbusters story pack. I'm hoping to find someone to trade with.

I am *so* near 100%, but have the Gold brick for the Arcade game to get (I can get to silver staus, but nowhere near gold in the game), and most of the impossibly difficult Sonic races in the Adventure World...

Good luck. I spent probably 2 hours playing that spy hunter game...

I kind of lost interested when they did some behinds the scenes tweaking and changed gold brick count!

I'll also be forever at least 1 gold brick short because of some bug somewhere that was never important enough to fix.

Sadly, I have no real desire to replay it all from scratch. sad really as when it first came out i was completely addicted to playing it!

Which gold brick are you talking about? For the story level All Your Bricks Are Belong to Us? I think you only needed to win a couple of races to get the Minikit brick. I also just played the Midway bonus level Retro Wreckage and you have to get Bronze for Joust, Robotron, Gauntlet, Super Sprint and Defender. I hated playing the old games but they were easy enough to get.

the level "the end is tri".

i've got all the requirements for all 4 bricks - completed level, rule breaker, all minikits, rescued sam (i think) - it shows i've only got 3 of 4.

customer services told me to power cycle my ps4. when that, unsurprisingly, didnt work they told me to delete the game and redownload all the updates. then told me that ultimately if that didnt work that they had no ideas and if i really wanted that brick i'd have to start a new game (after deleting my save - just in case!)

That sucks. I had no problem with levels but in both the GB 2016 and TLBM adventure worlds i'm stuck at 27/28 (or 26/27 whatever one missing is) and customer service told me the same thing, which ain't happening...

Have you played it through again to make sure? I'm sure you know this, but I appreciate how once you've played a level, it gives you the option to replay a section of it, and it tells you in which sections things aren't completed, like rescuing characters. Does that screen show everything is at 100% for you?

You sure it's not RulerBeaker? :)

I encountered a glitch in the Ghostbusters world where for one of the races, it did not display a gold brick floating in the middle of it like it usually does. When I saw that, I assumed I had done that race, but I actually hadn't. I did that race and got the gold brick I was missing. This has led me to change up my strategy when I do a new world. First, I do all the Renovations and then all the races to make sure I've got them all.

That was the first thing I checked. It shows that I have rulebreaker in both of them

That's interesting though. I'll have to go look back at the races, do you remember which one it was?
  • flordflord Member Posts: 797
Mine was the GB 1984 world. It's worth a shot to redo the races I guess.

I'll never get to 100% because I'm terrible at the races. I can just about manage the underwater ones and some of the flying ones, but no chance on the ground races. Could do with 'Hire-a-driver' as well as 'Hire-a-hero'!!

Just discovered a glitch in Jurassic Park today in the T-Rex quest.  Created the dino but it doesn't recognise he's there and the guy just keeps asking if I've finished the task yet.  Not retried after turning off and on again yet so hopefully it will work next time

I don't have any consoles, but I really like getting dimensions figures. The bases are great, and you can get figures that you'll never find sets of. Too bad they probably won't be doing Pokemon. But another building toy company is doing a good job with that.

The 42 in the intro? I noticed it the first time I let it play. That had me hoping for a HGTTG world in Dimensions. I wonder if it was ever on the table as a future license before they abandoned the game.

Hi, my son is now playing all the TT Lego games he can gets his hands on, and has now 'decided' that he would like the Dimensions game. Is it still worth getting for the Xbox 360? Is the availability & price of the starter pack and the additional packs making it an easier or harder proposition?

He knows that the game isn't going to be available for much longer, but I'm presuming he can finish it without all the extras. He says he 'just' wants Sonic, Raven, Beast Boy and "a character with a grapple". I don't know where he picked those from, but I'm assuming they're good choices? Are there any more that he would need to access more places/worlds?

I appreciate that this is a very open-ended set of questions, so I'd be happy to be pointed towards a good resource for info, but your opinions would also be most welcome!

@MaffyD I don't see why not. You can probably get any game discs you want for a decent price on Bricklink. The game is quite affordable right now.

@Bumblepants - is there a minimum selection of additional models required to unlock all areas? Is it pay to win? I know that you just need the discs, not the actual Lego, but I've yet to find out (and need a way to influence the reaction to) whether he wants the physical models, or just the gameplay element. My boy is more than happy to collect tons and tons of coins to buy exclusive characters, but I thought that Dimensions was Lego trying to monetise that more with the sets.

I haven't played so I can only guess but I think you have to buy the story packs to get those worlds. I think you only need characters of each ability to accomplish a task like 'flight'.
  • sid3windrsid3windr Member Posts: 1,460
There's no pay to -win- but if you want to unlock all areas you'll need a fair number of discs so that you have all "abilities". There's plenty that you won't need, too.

There's an excel sheet somewhere on reddit detailing ALL THE THINGS.

I say go for it, the game is fun, and you'll be able to get starter (and story?) packs a lot cheaper than they were originally right now.

    • Finn
    • Jay
    • Lumpy Space Princess

@MaffyD - if you decide you can live with just the discs, I can let you have maybe a dozen different character discs, plus another dozen blank discs (to 'write' their vehicles to). They are spare so it would be nice to see them go to a good home. None of them are on your list though. Feel free to shoot me a PM.

If you want starter packs and are in the US, get to a Target near you. They are clearancing them for anywhere from $9-$18.

Confirming GameStop is a BAD place to pick up remaining Dimensions. Starters are clearances at $49.97. Packs range from $9-29.97.

    better to go to eBay.
